Thread: Quick Poll: JSF/Grievous Do you even fly em anymore?

I think this ship is a real piece of crap. I dont know how you folks can live with such light equipment- i mean, to get a decent engine on it I have to savrifice the guns, which I hate. I am going to give it a try when I have the time, but afetr my first flight I simply packed it away. Simply not enough power- not near the Rihk or Krayt or even a Kimo.
I havea JSF, its probably my best equiped fighter. However, for unknown missions, or for heavy missions, I do not take it. For missions for the Empire, it just doesn't "feel" right. I prefer one of my many many Ties. I also have the Crimson, and for me, the Crimson is soo much more of an "Uber" craft, I prefer using that one to impress the newbs. Almost anyone can get a JSF, the same cannot be said of the Crimson (sure everyone that post here can, but it does take a little skill to get one, unlike the JSF). My problem is that I have soo many fighters, its hard to choose which one to take now. I don't even have my grevious generated, seeing how that is an "uber" neutral / rebel craft, and I work for the Empire!

It really depends on what I am doing, but man, I sure wish the Vaksai had a second gun slot @_@

I change out ships constantly, mostly between my Actis, Vaksai and my Krayt. Love my Krayt.

I love the Kryat too, this is a sweet ship by yourself, and the 2 seater option is nice when you wnat to help level a freind or an alt, just sit them in there afk, and go out to Kessel PvP enabled, get you some nice xp, and faction to boot

Whatever. The Jedi Starfighter was under the control of the Republic when the decree that created the Empire was made. This resulted in everything owned by the Republic to become Imperial. The clones, the guns, the walkers, the officers, the Cap Ships and yes, even the jedi starfighters. While piloted by Jedi up to thatpoint, the designs used in it were carried over in the creation of the TIE fighter series. Some would say that the JSF was the father of the TIE series, and they would be right.
To say that it is not Imeprial is ridiculous.
Now the General's fighter isn't Imperial, but I think we all know that already.
Ok, fine, they're Imperial.. it still suits me better to fly Iconic Imperial ships. IMHO a TIE fighter is more suited for me than the JSF. For me, my opinion, don't care what someone else is flying, don't care if someone thinks something is/isn't canon or what not.
Truly, the father of all TIE's and I have no problem with that at all... I just like the feeling of flying a TIE better. The marketting hype pulled me in for about a week and I flew the hell out of my JSF, it's a great little ship and I like it alot. I just prefer the original TIE's, the Heavy TIE (which I gave away! LOL!) or the Royal Guard TIE Intercepter.
(I'm not a member of the bash the JSF club at all.... )
Uh...sorry, they're not Imperial ships. They're Republic ships, actually.
If theyhad an 'Imperial control set' then you would not be able to fly them as a Neutral or Rebel pilot. Since there are other Clone War-era ships (ARC-170) that are Rebel-flyable, one can only assume that the code was written by some developer that had NEVER played JTL at all.
Besides, let's be real. The things have ancient control systems, the foam in the seat is probably 'dead,' and I imagine after that long a paint job is in order. They need refurbishing.I cannot think of a reason that I as a Master Shipwright could not design a set of controls similar to the Sorosuub luxury yacht...you know, a set of controls that any pilot could make use of?
I haven't seen the reasoning behind how these particular ships were set up. Does anybody know what the developers were thinking?
I love my JSF, but I consider it my trophy ship and treat it as such. lol, Im afraid it might get scratched.I really only bring it out to help others with missions, except against a corvette and company. My MT22 Krayt is my primary ship.

Then again, I've got an extra deed in my backpack care of my Jedi, so that helps immensely.

I addressed that. The Republic became the Empire. Their equipement would have remained apart of the service. The same as the Clone troopers and every other peice of equipement in the arsenal. The Republic didn't become the Empire and then go out and scrap all their equipment.

Yeah, because that Imperial Control set has worked so well in stopping Rebels from using Imperial equipment. /rolleyes Just look at the Lambda shuttle they used on ROTJ. Given the numbers tat the ARC-170 was used in, it would be totally possible that the Queen would have one sitting around. What is dumb about the whole ARC-170 thing is that it is give by the Queen of Naboo. Who happens to be protected by the RSF. Which while a neutral squadron is very Imperial in their ways and considered the Imperial National Guard.

They were newer and much better than those usedin the Z-95 or the YT-1300 for that matter. Age on ships means nothign in this time period. Most ships running around are old.

They were thinking you would be smart enough to figure out how to use Ctrl-O to change your keymaps to how you like to fly? I am pretty sure that's what they were thinking. /ponder
