Thread: Quick Poll: JSF/Grievous Do you even fly em anymore?
It's great to compare and contrast these ship chassis, and talk about which ones we like to fly, etc... but for pure practical purposes in doing missions and competing with freelance and rebel pilots I am not sure how we can't focus on one item, MASS!
As a Master Imp Ace I cringe when I think about the ship MASS available to us as compared, say, to the Freelance Ace. And MASS= Firepower + Defense in these ships. No matter how you slice it if you want to run the best, guns, armor, shields, you need mass to distribute it through. And sure, we have the Decimator, but that lumbering beast is good for show and that is about it. The Oppressor and Aggressor are nice, but the mass limitations are brutal (as compared to say a Krayt).
For an Imp Ace I guess I have found the Firespray to be my only salvation. 210K mass and nimble. Lets me run 2K+ shields, 2 lasers combining for around 8500 damage, and a nice big hog of an engine letting me hit 1,460 top speed (1,790 with the little booster I can squeeze in). With this firepower combined with speed and agility....how can I go back to an Imp ship? I hate the way my lasers come from two locations on the Firespray (harder to line up in my opinion) and I love the look of the Oppressor/Aggressor series.......so it's not that I love my Firespray. I just love the MASS.
Practical questions I have are: 1) as an Imp, are we not suppose to have the best equipment and technology? Heck, if Freelancer's have better equipment we would just go steal the technology and make it ours!; 2) out for a Sunday drive to see the stars then great, any of these ships will do......but in Deep Space to take out some corvette's, or farming faction on Tier 5 A wings, or dueling freelance, rebel and even Imp pilots in space....how can you justify less MASS if the ship is still nimble enough?
Curious on this one as it has "bugged" me since becoming a pilot. Also, what kind of mass does the Grievious ship carry?

I kinda like the tells I get from them after they flew straight into my triple RE'd rewards mounted on my heavy X ![]()
I'm fine if it stays the way it is. If I meet a pilot with equal or better skill in it, I'll be dead 9 times out of 10 because of it. But I'm fine with that, if it isn't the JSF, it would be something else. I no longer think a pilot with lesser skill/tactics will be lifted to my level because of it.
The crimson TIE is so fun to fly, my JSF is starting to get lonely. I'm not confident enough to PvP in it without some more practice, but I will bet it's going to be hard to track. With nice PYR motor with high top speed, this thing is just sick.

The interceptor handles great, but the problem is, the interceptor's weapon location is much differnet as far as where you shoot.
I still love my JSF, but I prefer to use my Grevious, since it's replaceable. And the style of the Grev really fits my character (loooooong lazy lines of itlook like thelovechild between a Jag XK-120, and a Spitfire). A little purple and black glossy paint, a little fur in the cockpit, and some red glow going on underneath (courtesy of the floating red "?"), and she's my "Pizzimp Mobizzle." ![]()
-Zz (and yes.. I still love the Krayt, but dammit, she made things too easy!)

I think this ship is a real piece of crap. I dont know how you folks can live with such light equipment- i mean, to get a decent engine on it I have to savrifice the guns, which I hate. I am going to give it a try when I have the time, but afetr my first flight I simply packed it away. Simply not enough power- not near the Rihk or Krayt or even a Kimo.
Nothing can mount what a freelance ship can, Freelance ships can pack alot, but loose in manueverablity. Basiclyit comes down to what you prefer.
