Nice movie.

But, ahh, i cant shake the feeling that some of that fighting was staged.

Saw a B wing getting hit with the nice little red X's you get when hitting a friendly ship, and a WHOLE Lot of shooting, quite a few hits, but not alot of dying. I did like the missle shot throught the asteroid field that was a nice touch.

Well, the blasting of the cargo ship was not part of the event at the end. Other than that you might believe that everyone flew overt, both sides had the goal of winning, we did not even know that there will be a film about that but I'm very pleasantly suprised at it, thank you again, Addy.

About not a lot of dying: our events are a hour long and most (if not all) of the time it is enough for three waves with reasonable rally times. The video itself is about the 1/3-1/5 of the total combat time. It seems to be proportional, in addition not everyone sees every blast due to the nature of the space fight. I am happy if I have time to check who I am cycling as targets, not looking around with 10 hostiles around.

About the whole lot of shooting: welcome to the fast paced combat of agile starfighters. It is not about whether you can get in someones six and if you're done with it you are set. Chances are you will have dozens of shoots for a lucky hit against an Eta Actis 2 even from an advantagous position, but even a Hvy T/F or RG T/I (especially the latter, for various reasons).

This fight was quite balanced in numbers, there were 15 fighters in both sides (confirmed from the Resha/ Ramona in IHC and assuming that the Ressurection Sqadron had a full group in ASFC) and props for the B wing maneuvers should be sent to Captain Dashka Nosemi . One more addition: we had at least two Belbullabs in the ASFC fleet.

Very nice Video, tho the x-wing allience soundbites sounded a bit out of place.

If only space PVP was like that on my server.

Tempted to start creating a character on starstrider.

You make the third from Radiant (myself and Nab are the 2 others) with that same idea. LOL

LOL, I was in deep space on radiant for 3 hours on saturday night and not a single other player turned up the whole time I was there.

And I was drunk as well so I would've been an easy target hehe.

Hi there.

Went and put my money where my mouth is..or rather where SOE's cash vault is and transferred Leaph to Starsider. I must commend SOE for such an excellent service, it all was done and dusted in five minutes..a very simple process to follow.

So yeh, this wreckless A-wing devotee is now on Starsider and I hope to bring to the server what I can as well as much enjoyment for the Imperials when they shoot me down . Sorry about leaving my friends behind on Bria, but...Starsider has more of what I like (roleplay and a better organised space pvp structure) and after being invited up to DS for a me vs everyone fight on my last day on the server..and getting loadkilled as I entered, I think that just about made up my mind about the server and put my thoughts a little mor ein line with Ducimus'...which is scary because he is bitter and mean [j/k].

As for the video, well I can tell you Ducimus that what they say is true..at least from my point of view. The one fillming it was covert and the footage they have of the fighters seems to be pretty much as I remember it.

PVP in that event was unlike -anything- I've experienced on Bria. Whenever I've been in group pvp over there...each round lasted about ten seconds because the few with the uber ships would simply decimate the newer players then usually Rebels would wipe out the Imperials [in the groups I've seen] mainly because I agree with Duc...the Alliance on Bria seems a lot more into JTLS on the whole.

On Starsider, I was expecting to get wasted within seconds. I knew my setup and I'd been told of what to expect from the enemies. For some reason, I didn't get a single IR locked on me and most of the time I was left untouched. I'm wondering if that is because I wasn't seen as much of a threat at the time. I mean...no matter how good the pilot is, from an enemy point of view, if I saw a heavy 95 and I was flying a T/A etc...I wouldn't be too scared. Naive maybe, but thats just the way I am...the Heavy 95 has a large hitbox and terrible weapon spread. It is possible to get kills in it but it is certainly a lot harder imo to use effectively so....I really did expect to get crunched sooner. On the flip side though, for the lvl of equipment I was using, a heavy 95 was much more rewarding to fly than the Y-wing I could have used . But fact remains, when there are pilots flying Actis' and Belbs on the enemy side...I think a Heavy 95 would be pretty low on my priority list of who to kill unless I knew for sure tht that pilot was renowned for destroying star systems with the ship.

I personally think a heavy 95 and the Y-wings would be great..well are good, I mean I know there was another Heavy 95 pilot in that battle and they seemed to be doing very well, but I think they're both ships where you need high end equipment on them in order to get the most out of them.

But anyway, enough of that and back to the point. Before I go on..I need to say that whoever the B-wing pilot is...you're a legend. I never was one for heavy strike duty ships because I love my A-wing too much..but I hold a lot of admiration and respect for anyone who can make a ship which is concieved as 'pvp suicide' to work . Also, I was noticing..well it seemed like noone would concentrate on one single target for too long. I was seeing pilots making feints at some enemies, then as they turned and noticed other fighters in the vicinity..they'd concentrate their efforts on them etc. Nice display of multitasking and situational awareness on both sides.

Best of all though..is the diversity. Now I got nothing wrong with JSF pilots or anything, but after coming from Bria the land of 'we all fly the same ship 90% of the time'..it was -very- refreshing to see a wider range of ships being used on both sides of the engagement. I'm absolutely stoked...if SS wants a recruitment rep for Starsider propanda...just ask me, I love the server so far.

Anyway...thanks to those on SS who gave me the warm welcome, thanks Haro and Ramona for programming those blank droid chips for me, thanks Halyn for getting me introduced to RS, thanks Li' for the heavy 95 and other free stuff (I'll pay you back), thanks to everyoneelse in RS for the nice welcome and thankyou Imperial Navy for shooting me down twice on Saturday .

Now lets see how well I do in my A-wing over here...

Well I just got the game last Friday and made a character on the Ahazi server. I got the game mostly because a friend told me how the space combat was almost identical to XvT which is one of my favorite games ever. I got Total Experience and I must say that I do love space a lot and to hear that a different server has PVP pilot player events makes me want to move. Anyone have more information on the events, the server, or someone that might help me get a jump start so that I can do not have to use a lot of time getting back to where I am right now on my other character?

Thanks much

You know it The Rebels are the bad guys, after all..

And Ordu, if you're looking to get into these events, you should perhaps try contacting Halyn and/or Pro who have posted on this thread - they could help you a lot better than I could.. as their experience in this matter is significantly more advanced than mine is.. I don't even know half the names of the ships I saw out there, to be honest!

Leaph: Anytime, and you dont have to pay me back
Pro: There were only 2 Rza pilots in the RS group, the rest were either Sabre Squadron or not in a squadron, but thats just technicalites .

Leaph, how exactly does the transfer work? From what I understand, you cant carry money over, right? And nothing in your datapad... so you loose FCs, but you can unload ships and carry all the parts over? And how much can you carry? I assume basically as much as you can hold... clothes, armor, and a full inventory and backpack? (So essentially, 130 items plus whatever you're wearing when you transfer?)

I can point you to some people on Ahazi. I still play there some times. However, if you interested in piloting, make at least one toon on Starsider. Trust me.

That event was fun... I can't wait to see the video (stupid wireless connection at work taking forever). For those of you that aren't on starsider, this is not the exception. all of the events are like this.

BTW Anyone know a fairly cheap rebel smuggler... I'd like to see things from the other side.
