over steer is something that shouldnt happen in space

sure if your flying a c5B galaxy and you turn it too sharp your gonna bank and pitch down, but that wont happen in space. in space a paper air plane and something the size of Halo would have the exact same acceleration and steering potential

WRONG......mass effects inertia

Ya have to agree with JaekeW here they would both, in theory, have the same possible top speed but the paper airplane has much less inertia, the lack of air doesn't change that.

What, you mean light speed?

Well since were talking about physics and Einstein hasn't, to my knowledge, been proven completely wrong it would be a little under light speed but, yes.

We have to remember we're not playing in a newtonian/einstein physics based game here.

weight and mass. An object has mass no matter what gravitational field it is in, and inertia is due to mass.

Inertia is due to mass and relative velocity....heh...now let me polish of my pocket protector.

Jerk is what we really should be talking about in space. High Jerk in space rules all...

I thought were were trying to keep the Jedi out of space.

Could we start a petition to convert FS skills into BBQ sauce? I think it would be a delicious idea....

I've done some twisted things in my life, but I would never put a Jedi in my mouth, not even if you paid me my Decemator's weight in Black Sun Helmets.

Hmmmm, Jedi. Err....I mean......um...DOUGHNUTS! Yes, doughnuts. Doughnuts and BBQ sauce. Yeah. That's what I meant. Yeah.

Oh..incase you guys don't know, Jerk is the term used to measure the acceleration of acceleration...

so you have something like:
meters per second...velocity...
meters per second per second...acceleration...
meters per second per second per second...jerk...

You know how the saying goes in parachuting...
It's not the fall the kill ya...it's the sudden stop...
That's Jerk in action....

Using the actual definition makes this conversation infinitely less ammusing, however.

so....the derivative of the derivative of the derivative of the velocity is.....a Jedi?
