Whatever happens please don't NERF the Krayt. It's a good ship and you nuetrals deserved it. My Oppresor is around 170k mass and thats fine with me.

while i agree that the ships should not be the same, they should still be BALANCED.

right now the bwings only advantage is 30k mass over a krayt, and that the pilot can fire the forth gun without a gunner (not that your ever gonna hit with the forth gun in the bwing). for that 30k mass it has the same manuverabilty as the nova (the stats are identical) while the tie-opp and krayt fly way better than even the y-wing. now while i like the idea of the bwing being a heavy bomber, at least give it a serious advantage over the krayt in the heavy attack department, like even more mass or a couple more missle slots. as it is now the krayt is just as good at heavy attack but flys much better.

I own both.

Bwing - 4 pilot controlled blaster weapons and 2 missle tubes

t-22 - 3 pilot controlled blaster weapons and 1 missle tube, 1 turret gunner controlled blaster weapon.

30K is a big difference mass wise. When I point the bwing at a gun or system on the corvette, that gun/system get's vaporized with 2 advanced and 2 heavies all hitting it at once.

The loadout of the ships is most important. You want a heavy hitter as an imperial, use the tie-bomber. The oppressor is a nice fast ship too with a decent loadout. Rebels have the y-wings when they want a heavy fighter. And of course the b-wing for serious firepower.

What you are asking for is composite in space. Everyone using the exact same equipment. And I hope the developers don't listen to you.

Wow, this thread really sprouted wings. Please let me reiterate... I do not want to see the Krayt nerfed. REPEAT no nerfing of the Krayt.

The first time I pimped out my Krayt and headed into Kessel witha guildie on the turret I though, "Woah, this is sick". My alt is a privateer andmy thoughts immediately went in the direction of dropping Imp Ace to make my main a Privateer as well. Just for the Krayt.

Privateers can declare in space so they really have the best of both worlds. What I don't want to see is space littered with Krayts 60 days from now.

All I'm saying here is that Imps and Rebels need to have comprable ships to the Krayt or it will become Space Composite very very quickly.

I'm a Rebel Ace, and I think the Pilot roles, and ship roles, are the way they're supposed to be.

Imperials have the ships that came with less mass(TIEs are supposed to be lightly armored and no shields, but I don't mind TIEs with shields) and typically higher manuverabilty than most fighters out there. The logical route to go with TIEs is less shielding and armor in favor of heavier firepower, relying on your personal skill and smaller ship profileto keep from getting killed.

Rebels have ships that can take more armor and heavier shielding with thier weaponry, buttypically suffer from less manuverability, lower speed, and lower accelleration. The exception here, being the A-Wing, which is very comparable to a TIE in maunverability, speed, and ship profile.

Privateershave a midground in thier ships, with more variety due to multiple styles of each ship. Thier mass is between the extremes of the Rebel and Imperial craft, thier weapon hardpoints are between those extremes as well.

As for the master ships, they seem to follow this line of thought as well, B-Wings have the space for lots of equipment, but if I remember correctly(been a while since I was in one), doesn't it have another missile hardpoint? Anyway, the Oppressor has more space and a larger loadout, but the least space, if I remember correctly(been a while since I was in one), and still has a high manuverability. The new Krayt has comparable stats, and is the only Two-Player ship for Privateers.

Now, here's something you guys should note: To make *any* turreted ship usefull with someone in a gunner's seat, that ship must make steady movements, it can't go jutting and jinking in and out, or the gunner would just be a guy along for the ride, occassionally taking pot shots at the random passerby. Meaning, the Krayt must make itself a target if its gonna have that gunner. When you think of it, doesn't that kinda make sense?

I like my B-wing the handeling took some gettin used to but once i got it figured out it really isnt that bad,Only thing i dont like is the cannon convergance on it. If the target is flying straight and away from me i can only hit it with one gun.

2.) PvP: Right now PvP in JTL has tremendous potential but very few players are taking advantage of it. I have two JTL characters. One is an Imp SS Ace and one is a RSF Master Pilot. Every time I launch into space the first thing I do is declare at the Imperial station yet I've had only one or two PvP encounters. The more balanced these three ships are the more likely players will be open to PvP... and PvP is one of the few activites at Master/Ace so it only makes sense to balance it as much as possible.

They could be the commander of a deathstar, and the sea ofcarebears will still not PVP.

I think this thread is a little off subject. I'm not arguing who has the best ships or who should play what role. I'm saying that each faction needs to have access to ships of similar quality at the Master/Ace level.

But hey if you Rebs are content with me blasting the crap out of your A's, B's, and X's then so be it. Right now Privateer can declare as either Reb or Imp depending on your ground faction status so Privateer has the best of both worlds.

Pilots should pick a faction based on role play and not be concerned with who has the best ships...

That's the point. They do. The problem is your ego won't let you see them because they may not be in the Master box.

Or are we all supposed to abandon all previous ships and only fly Oppressors, Krayts and B-Wings because everything else is below us?

To answer your question... Yes. I only fly the Krayt and Oppressor. Even when I am in a large group. And now I only fly the Krayt... which is the whole point of this thread. Every faction needs to have access to one really great fighter at Master. Just like they have equal access to one really great MP ships.

If it were up to me each faction would have one really good bomber, one really good fighter, and one really good MP at Master. This way all of the Tier 4 ships and below could be specialty ships for groups.

For instance, group 5 or 6 A-Wings together and you have a pretty deadly little swarm of Rebels. Or get one big arse decimator and have 5 TIE Advanceds escort it and you have an awesome group of Imps.

It has nothing to do with ego, just common sense. If the factions aren't balanced then you'll see Krayts become Space Composite very very quickly. Not only are they supieror to all other ships but they can be flown by either faction...

If the devs are reading I would ask that you not listen to any calls for changes. I have 3 toons so that I can fly all of the ships. I'm a master shipwright and I've tried many combinations in many ships. The game is balanced now. You did an excellent job. The ships have different roles and there are several valid pvp choices. Most of the people who call for changes are just looking for excuses as to why they aren't able to kill as many playersas they would like to. It always easier to ask for changes than it is to face the fact that you aren't the next aniken skywalker.

No changes devs, JTLS is a top notch game. Thank you for making it.

Amen to That!

and on a similar yet different train of thought, i know several pilots who fly b-wings who have zero problems dogfighting Ties in PVE or PVP. Those that hate the B-wing may not have spent enough time to learn how to properly compensate for its unique handling.

eatch and every space faction having sutch unique and different vehicles is great. It really gives pilots a reason to try out different factions.
