But hey if you Rebs are content with me blasting the crap out of your A's, B's, and X's then so be it. Right now Privateer can declare as either Reb or Imp depending on your ground faction status so Privateer has the best of both worlds.
Pilots should pick a faction based on role play and not be concerned with who has the best ships...
That's the point. They do. The problem is your ego won't let you see them because they may not be in the Master box.
Or are we all supposed to abandon all previous ships and only fly Oppressors, Krayts and B-Wings because everything else is below us?
Amen to That!and on a similar yet different train of thought, i know several pilots who fly b-wings who have zero problems dogfighting Ties in PVE or PVP. Those that hate the B-wing may not have spent enough time to learn how to properly compensate for its unique handling.eatch and every space faction having sutch unique and different vehicles is great. It really gives pilots a reason to try out different factions.
Exactly. Almost every single craft in this game excell in one particular use, while two or three are actual multi-role craft.
You have ships that specialize in speed and manuverability(TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, A-Wing, Scyk, Ixiyen.
Ships that specialize in firepower and survivability(Y-Wing, TIE Bomber, TIE Oppressor, B-Wing, Krayt, Ryhkxrk).
Then you have ships that are midground(X-Wing, Dunelizzard, TIE Avenger[What the "Advanced" should be called]).
Then, add to that, each of the three pilot professions has its own "philosophy" for ship design. Imperial ships are made to be lightly armed, and sent en masse. Which is why most of thier ships are the speed/manuverability type.
Rebel ships are made for hit and run tactics, because the Rebellion is short on man-power, they need thier pilots to come back in one piece, thusly, they need to be able to take on several ships, with just one pilot. They tend to go the survivability route.
Many of the Privateer ships aren't specialized. They never know what they may need to be doing. There's one or two ships ment for specific roles. But mainly, they need multi-role craft. And thusly, you find that thier ships can do a little bit of everything.
If you were to go and "even out" the ships at master level, there would be no diversity. And thusly, no reason to even have seperate pilot professions. Better yet. Lets just give everyone a ship, shaped like a brick, with a blaster on all sides. This will be the ship that everyone gets to use. It takes alot of damage to destroy it, and it can also deal a lot of damage. Then people can tell them apart with the paintjobs they sport and the name above the top of it. We'll just remove shipwright from the game, since they won't need to make new bricks. And make all space loot the same few pieces, with no difference in between stats.
