Thread: How to Fix the Jedi Fighter.

So what is your solution? nerf the Jedi fighter, unbalace the game back to teh Rebel side in a time of history in which they are weak as hell? Sorry, but this is a multi player game so it has to be balanced. No balance = No PvP as simple as that. If you want to go by times, then lets increase the amount of Imperial NPcs to a maximum so that Rebels get the pounding they should be having during this time and decrease Rebel NPCs to 2 or 3 per space section. How much fun would that be? If the only thing that is bothering you is that the ship is 20 years old, then replace it with a new ship with the same stats and size. Would that make you happy? Why am I even arguing this non sense anyways? lol

Okay, of all the arguments for changing the JF, this one is by far the weakest, and also the most senseless.
First of all, this is a game not the real world. Second, if you want to force "reality" into the argument we're talking about something "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away" remember?
Finally, age can mean something however if you keep pressing the real-life aspect of things into the game, consider this:
Technology doesn't necessarily move forward at a steady pace for all things. If you want a real comparison to the Jedi Starfighter, consider the F-14 Tomcat. This fighter came into service in 1972, which means it was on the drawing boards and flight testing in the 1960's. It reigns today as the premier inteceptor on the planet.
It's over 30 years old.
The components have been modernized, but the airframe is still the same.
Sound familiar?
While I don't mind comparing arguments about what should or shouldn't happen with the new ships, I'm completely tired of people dragging a "timeline" into the argument, when it's pretty obvious that the whole timeline thing is borked in this game.
In other words, argue on merits, not months okay?

What im most angry on is the fact that the new stats makes no sence what so ever, a z-95is an obsolete ship, it should have worse handling than a xw, mass no higherer than 60k. Nobody should even concider flying this ship at master lvl.
SNIP
Get the jedi 1.1 speed and reduce its mass to 40k-50k MAX! Its half the sizeof an awing for christ sake. That way people will still concider it since it so damn fast, but they cant pack reward sheilds andtoo big guns/engine in it.

also note that these ships where more balanced in beta, mass was quite lower, then people began to ask to mass boosts because "a tier 4 ship should have at least 150k as priv ones" whitout considering that a ship have even other important stats as maneuverability, weapon mounts/allocation and profile.
You have to be kidding me. And sony was stupid enough to listen? Then again, why am i suprised? People whined about the firespray being a privateer master ship in JTL beta, and got it changed into its current over rated cult fetish object it is now.
ajag wrote:The balance issue has always been there. Before ROTW there was no ship that could match the A-wing in PvP, the problem is that you never really got to hear much about it.

Tie oppressor for teh win! No seriously! It is A wing death. The balance issue acutally has been, and still favors the Empire. The Tie opperssor is the only starfighter that has 3 missle mounts. Three MKII IR's (incase you havent heard) shuts down A wings about as fast as flipping a light switch. It is the A wing trump card, and it's an ablity that nothing in the rebel or privateer ship inventory can match.

This is if you can maneuver and get a lock on the A-wing sure, but it all really depends on the pilot. I am pretty sure that if both pilots had the same skills, the A-wing one would have the advantage. Anyways, who dogfights in PvP with missiles?
Ok.. a more concrete suggestion.
Instead of flaming people or argueing. I'm throwing out more stats. If you think they're too goo.. post different ones. If you think they're not good enough.. post different ones. BTW.. why is it that everyone keeps comparing the JSF/Greivous to the AWing.... I thought we were talking balance here? Or is the concenscious that only Rebels shoul;d have the best Intercepter in the game?
- TIE-Adv: 80k Resources ~65k mass [SP: 2 Guns] 1 missile [Spdx 1.0 Acc 40 Dec 60 Pitch 300 Yaw 300 Roll 150]
- A-Wing: 80k Resources ~65k mass [SP: 1 Guns] 1 missile[Spdx 1.0 Acc 40 Dec 60 Pitch 250 Yaw 250 Roll 125]
- Grievous Fighter: 90K mass, 2 SP weapon, 1 ordnance, .95 speed, 600/600/300 P/Y/R
- Jedi Starfighter: 90K mass, 2 SP weapon, 1 ordnance, .95 speed, 600/600/300 P/Y/R
- Heavy Z-95: 95K mass, 1 SP weapon, 1 ordnance, .95 speed, 600/600/300 P/Y/R
- Heavy TIE/Ln: 95K mass, 1 SP weapon, 1 ordnance, .95 speed, 600/600/300 P/Y/R
- Scyk: 5k Resources ~12k mass [SP: 1 Guns] 1 missile [Spdx 0.95 Acc 50 Dec 50 Pitch 600 Yaw 600 Roll 300]
- Heavy Scyk: 95K mass, 1 SP weapon, 1 ordnance, .95 speed, 600/600/300 P/Y/R
Those are the current stats for the ships in question
These are my suggested modified stats.
If you have a better idea, show me the numbers. Remember the point is BALANCE not Rebels = I Win or Imperial = I WIN. If you compare the number I show here, you will see that I suggest putting the JSF/Greivous in the middle between the TIE Advanced/AWing. Compromise people. Why higher mass? Because they are reward ships, carry 2 guns, and there's got to be a reason to fly them too!
The new Heavy Tier 1 ships: I have no problem with someone in the low tiers having a decent ship, they can't get to deep space without Ace anyhow. 1 weapon also. I tweaked the YPR and Mass a bit. Brought mass down a bit. It's more mass than a TIE Intercepter but less than the TIE Advnaced or AWing. Lowered the YPR due to higher mass. Still better YPR than an AWing/Intercepter but y'know.. gotta give you a reason to fly it.

Really wish we had a better pilot community on Ahazi. I have a hard time understanding why such a populated server has such a low pilot population... meh...

Anyone who's up with the curve on the one server where there is an actual PvP community, as well as the people smart enough to emulate their tactics![]()

every keeps talking about the TIE's greater turn rate, how many times do I have to say the Interceptor has way low mass and can't fit the really nice engines and still be effective, whare as the A-Wing can fit not only level 6 and 8 but even a nice RE'ed level 10.
Don't even bring up the Advanced, the thing is a barn, a blind grandma could hit it. Not even going into the Nuet ships, lol.
Oh and btw, when I say have flown the A-Wing and Imperial ships I dont mean past tence, I fly them both CURRENTLY as both a Imperial and Rebel pilot on my two main toons.

Well... we quote facts and don't simply say "it is so because i say it". Every A-Wing pilot can check their chassis stats and see they are lower than the Tie Interceptor and the Tie Advanced. If you want to prove your claims post your a-wing and tie advanced chassis acceleration in this thread.
