Thread: How to Fix the Jedi Fighter.

I don't get it....I don't get any of what any of you are saying, it makes no sense.
As a Storm Ace, I have not even bothered to look at the new heavy TIE Ln .... you know why?
1 gun, 1 missle, and still less mass than what I fly now.
I can find no reason whatsoever for me to even bother trying to fit anything in it.
So any noob pilots will have a higher mass option than I did .... it won't last till they'll want more than 1 gun, 1 missle, and they'll move on to thier next tier ships like normal.
What's the big deal?
The big deal is this: These ships handle about twice as good as an A-wing. The A-wing, like the new TIE/Ln, has one gun slot and one missile slot. The A-wing has less mass than these ships, yet most sane rebel pilots use the A-wing for PvP. Which ships do you think that people will use in the future?
It's not that hard to see, really.

It's not about ballance you idiots .. Kessel and DS are EMPTY.
I for one would like to say good job with these new ships .... just make it so the miner can mine ....
Oh yeah, awesome way to make your point heard. Call everyone idiots and flame their views without supporting your own.Good going! ![]()
Kessel and DS are empty because of several factors, one being just balance, another being a complete lack of post-master content. And I ask you: How will these ships help populate DS or Kessel?

and someone tell me why the imperial space station handed me the deed to my new red interceptor, and a heavy X-wing badge! .... something smells fishy ..... Vader put you up to this!?!
Lowering the mass on these ships probably isn't an option anymore. As we've seen before, when the devs make mass changes to certain chassis, ships that exsisted before the fix don'tget affected by the change. If they nerf the mass on any of the new fighters, all the ones that currently exsist will probably keep their high mass, thus creating a situation were some players will forever have overpowered ships. What they need to do instead is just nerf the rediculous manueverability stats that all these new ships have, since those stats are tied to the chassis,so you won't have to worry about leaving a bunch of pre-nerf ships flying around.
The Heavy TIE, Heavy Scyk, Heavy Z95, and Jedi Starfightershould all have their manueverability stats changed to be the same as the Dune Lizard, and the three Heavy fighters should have their piloting certs moved to Tier III or Tier IV. The Grevious fighter also needs to be nerfed, but not in the same manner. Right now it has identical stats to the Jedi Starfighter, however it has a much larger hit profile. It needs to have some sort of difference from the Jedi Starfighter to make up for the greater ease with which it can be hit by incoming fire. Two possibilities would be to either set its manueverability to be slightly better than that of a dunelizard, or go ahead and give it the same manueverabilty as a dunelizard, but give it a second ordinance slot to compensate for its larger hit profile.
If they made these changes, the new ROTW fighters would still be nice, and in some ways would still be better than pre-ROTW ships, however they would be close enough that the slight variations in pilot skill would cover up the differences.

I think all of you are forgetting one big thing, all 3 of the reward ships can be used by all 3 pilot factions. There's still talk that there could be quests for Imps for the ARC and there where some words that the is or will be a Jedi Starfighter quest for rebels.
Actually they can't you have to have actually done the quest to fly the ship .. I'm an Imp ace, if someone gave me an ARC I couldn't use it, I'd have to leave the Empire and join the Rebellion then do the ARC mission before I could fly it, even if I already had the deed.
The cert in your skills isn't all.. you have to have the corrosponding badge from that mission to fly it.
The other high end set is the same, for example I completed the mission for the red interceptor. I recieved the deed for my new interceptor, but the wrong badge, I got the badge for completing the heavy X-wing quest instead. So if someone where to give me a heavy X-wing I could fly it, but I can't fly my interceptor with just the cert, I need the badge for completing the red guardTIE mission.

Using that logic the TIE Bomber should have 4 gun slots and 6 missle bays.
The Y-8 runs rings around em.

A good "attempt" at a solution but I see no reason to create a new imbalance with this "balanceattempt" of yours with giving the a-wing more mass than the jedi starfighter...

Ok.... can anyone explain to me why on earth I would not be able to fit anything that goes into an awing in a TIE Advanced? They have the same mass, 65K. The TIE Advance just has the option to mount two guns. The TIE Interceptor has only 50K mass.
I dunno, ill have to sleep on that one. It's late, i didnt say that did i? lol.
i really think that all the new ships are totally out of balance
JST and GST are quite unbalanced but what scares me most is the HX-wing that totally outperform everything in game
180k mass (10k more than an oppressor) with a good profile (private ships have a bad one) a good 3 weapon allocation and the maneuverability of a medium fighter....

Its not actually half the size of a A-Wing. I took some screen shots of my ship lined up with Ritha's A-Wing, its just a tad smaller.
And to answer the question about why not fit it into a TIE Advanced..... Profile. You'd have to be blind to miss a TIE Advanced. The Interceptor isn't that much better, but it has a better speed mod, and I seem to be hit less in it..... lol.
The balance issue has always been there. Before ROTW there was no ship that could match the A-wing in PvP, the problem is that you never really got to hear much about it. It is funny that reading this post and seeing how most people complaining about the imbalance always use and A or X wing as the base comparison. Who ever said that rebel ships should be the base for any comparison? I do agree that the is a small balance problems with the new ships not only for pilots but also for shipwrights as they do not get to craft these new awesome ships rendering their business useless, however, I am and always have been against nerfing somthing to match something else. What could be done however, is improve the old ships to match the new standards. I am talking about all the old ships because the handling and acceleration of the POB ships (talking about the Nova, Decimator and YT-1300 here) is just ridiculus! Those ships are completely useless! even with a full crew and the new components those ships are too big and too clumsy to miss them in any type of combat. Now lets take the A wing... why instead of nerfing the Jedi starfighter, why dont you increase the stats of the A wing and add it a second hardpoint? That would pretty much take care of that balancing issue right there. Now for Privateers (Which I am) the best solution would be to decrease the profile size of the Dunelizzard to match that of the A-wing and match the stats accordingly. That would take care of all the PvP issues because no matter what you are, you have a balanced PvP for your faction. I dont think the other ships are unbalancing (3 Heavy versions of old ships, ARC, and griveous, red Tie) just because you would already have a propper PvP at your disposal that you could use. The other ships would be used for fun or roleplay. Also, I do not think that anyone cares about PvE balance between factions because all factions have good PvE ships as it is. The only problem left is the unbalance created for the Shipwrights with the new ships. For this, I think a new quest should be made for Shipwrights in which they get the Jedi Starfighter schematic so then that would even out the demand for PvP ships. The existing quest should work as it is (without the bugs of course
) but instead of giving you the deed for the fighter, Vader should just give you the certificate to use it. The reason for this is, that peopole will hardly use this ship outside of DS to prevent it's decay since they can only get it one time. This then would affect the the shipwrights business. The same logiccould be applied for the Y-8 mining ship. A quest for the schematic and keep the existing quest for the certificate to use it.
The rest of the new ships could stay as they are because that really does not bother many people. True, shipwrights do not get to make them, but those are ships that people would only adquire once as there are (or would be) better PvP and PvE ships around.
