The loot item. I've got a number of loot components that have a cert level of X and an RE level of Y.


They don't necessarily need to be the same. It can really throw you for a loop at times.

therses no reason for them not to match. theres no advantages (on loot, dont know about the starmap shield) to having different cert levels (i havent ran into a part where the cert level was lower than the RE level) as stats of the part reflect the re level and not the cert level.


also, i have only seen this discrepancy rampant in DIs, not so much so in shields. none at all in reactors, weapons, engines, armor maybe.

I loot lots. the only DIs htat have the discrepancy are the silver looking ones. so again i win.

I just want to argue? You haven't given a reason why they should always be the same. Where does logic enter into the matter?


Give me a link to some official saying they're supposed to match 100% of the time, and it's over. Otherwise, you can't win, hehehe.

Why would there be an RE level if they were supposed to match? The cert level would have covered both nicely.
