In good news, jedi can now keep wearing their Ace helmets, even after they decay. Meanwhile, the Y-8 quest is still broken, the hit box on the RGI is still off, and the "traveling too fast through patrols" bug is still around. But hey, Jedi can wear their helmets...

No they can't =).
No one can wear Black Sun Ace/Any other Ace pilot helms now.
I just talked with another person on Kettemoor who has a BSA helm, he can't wear his.
And upon trying to equip mine, I couldnt either.

I understand this publish has some problems with it, and they mean to get the helmet fix (among others) fixed soon. And that's as in later today or hotfix soon, not "Soon™".

Actually, I've gotta claim some guilt on this one, heh.. came up in the c-forum a while back and I replied saying it would be nice for people who'd earned their helmets to be able to wear them without penalty. Come to think of it, though, this was just one issue among many in the original thread, so it was never specified as a high priority, just something to get to at some point.

With that in mind, I'd certainly hope this fix falls under the category of "Something That Was Way Easy To Fix And So We Knocked It Out While Everyone Else Was On Their Smoke Break," because as has been well illustrated by Ducimus and others, there are still a lot of far more outstanding problems out there to be dealt with.

At the very least, though, you've got to admit it's a nice little fix for the people it affected. They earned those ace helmets, they deserve to be able to wear em.

/salute Ducimus - and I agree. Glad you're posting in here.

Outrage is good, I feel the same way. If I knew an effective way to direct my urges to throw the monitor out the window more constructively, I would. The lack of bug fixes in this game are pathetic, and more often than not Publishes fail to fix anything. What they do claim to fix tends to turn out more broken than before - see helmets this time around. Did it not occur to anyone on the dev team to log into their publish and....um...put a helmet on?

Nice try, but you don't get the blame that easy. There are so many things that should be easy to fix and haven't been, it's disgusting. The fact that more than half of the ships in the new expansion are broken in one way or another is unacceptable...but there isn't much the average player can do, since SOE doesn't seem to care.

I posted the thread partially as a joke. But it's very telling when fixes are categorized by profession...and the space fix isn't even listed as related to pilots. That, if anything, should tell you who the developers aimed the patch at, Tomo's intentions nonwithstanding. And even then, they borked helmets now. File them with the other pilot bugs to be finished Some Day.

SWG has to be, for the amount of time it's been live, the most poorly managed MMO. Every game has bugs, especially at release. Few get worse as time goes on.

oh i can tell. and incase you couldnt tell i was being sarcastic.

It speaks miles of ones character to have a fit when they dont get what they want.

Like it was also said before jedi was not the only proffesion that is affected by the fix. One that alot of people had asked for. And it did alter more than just pilot helmets.

But it is just a game......Not the end of the world lighten up.

he has a right to be mad. we all pay good money to play this game, and some of us like me n rapax play just for JTL.

the devs have a history of ignoring space and giving the jedi a huge ammount of attention, to the point where they are fixing someing as trivial as what kind of hat they are allowed to wear instead of fixing GAME BREAKING issues in space like the adjust shields, epulse, and thedeepspace Imperial Lagdestroyer.

rapax has been cool about this for a long time, but as time goes on and we still arent getting the fixes we deserve, alot of us are getting impaitent.

that said we have been getting more attention from SOE than normal, and im glad that they are fixing some of the issues, but there are more pressing matters that deserve their attention than getting to your shipsequipment when you arent cert'd for it.

Yah, not to mention the related SW issue of energy drain on components when RE'ing.

But, yes, I didn't join till after JTL was launched as well.

I likethe ground aspect, but I am a pilot.

Yes, Jedi have issues, but most of them are addressed almost immediately whereas Pilots tend to be ignored in the grand scheme of things. Not to say that other professions haven't been ignored as well, but Jedi is NOT one of them.

That being said,Rapax andOstat, as well as myself, have quite a bit of reason to be upset at being ignored by SOE. Especially to the point of referring to the Pilot PROFESSION as SPACE in their fixes.

Pilots, as well as Shipwrights, need to be given some respect, seeing as howthere was an entire EXPANSION dedicated to Pilots and Shipwrighting PROFESSIONS.

Sony could have....

- Fixed the Y-8 mission bug.

Instead they gave priority to a trival bug so Jedi could wear their flight helmet.

- Fixed Krayyyshk station quest bugs.

Instead they gave priority to a trival bug so Jedi could wear their flight helmet.

- Fixed patrol mission bug.

Instead they gave priority to a trival bug so Jedi could wear their flight helmet.

- Fixed weapon panel displays in POBs.

Instead they gave priority to a trival bug so Jedi could wear their flight helmet.

- Fixed (insert an additional 5 page list of bugs here)

Instead they gave priority to a trival bug so Jedi could wear their flight helmet.

And you mock my character because I didnt get what i want?!

>>If I sound cynical, then clearly you don't work in IT

How does, Build it, sell it, test it (in that order) sound? My company used to be really bad that way. (weve since changed the order of that operation).

Im fortunate, (or unfortunate) enough to have a job that is cushy, yet required for daily operation, and yet, is not involved in anything managerial. So those fun meetings i hear about, are just that.. things i hear about. Sometimes its good be a mushroom.

The grand, horrid irony for me is that the number of Jedi on our server trounces the number of active pilots in a game called Star Wars: Galaxies. Not sure how it is for you guys on normal servers.

It's a sad, sad tale.

I think it has more to do with bad attitudes, rampant exploitation, and the sad state of that overworked hampster that powers bria.
