While I am ambivalent about them "fixing" anything in the space game, considering the fact that there is so little quest oriented content, you would think they would move to fix the Y8 ASAP. That said, I understand how priorities are set in the software industry these days and unfortunately it's not always objective or based on need. I've sat through a lot of meetings over the years watching things get prioritized based on whether the bosses performance evaluation or vacation was imminent. Sometimes, it's more about politics than technology. Fixes like this have the smell of someone polishing the old apple as it were. And the fact that it immediately had problems implies to me that this was a "I need something to show for my review and all I've got is a hard drive full of porn" type push. Get it out, claim victory, blame the devs if it screws up like they probably said it would.
