Thread: I pvp in a RGI, I don't care what size the hitbox is
I've fought 1 RGI (Farstar PvP is really dead) and i managed to get 2 scoring hits on him, but the pilot in the RGI didn't hit me once, so whatever size the ship you have, unless they were in a Pre-Rotw ship they have no excuse, the RGI is hard to hit, but the JSF/Bell 22 is not much bigger.

There going to BBQ me anyway, but thats ok. Their perfectly within their rights to, im making a statement that i didnt have to make.
PvP, is screwed over, plan and simple. Theres all three ROTW uber fighters that skew the game. Whats more, win or lose doesnt mean a bit of difference anymore. Vape me all you want, what are you gonna do? Send me back to starport without wounds or BF? Ill try and not cry about that. Decay? what decay? If i get blown out of the sky outside of DS, ill just push my wreck to DS and repair it there. Rebels vary rarely if ever go overt and fly outside of DS. They seem to have this logic that Pvp = deepspace, and only deep space. So they dont have decay to begin with. ANd ill bet you my bottom dollar eventually even the chance of decay from PvP goes away in the future too.
PvP points? what pvp points? kill counts? What kill counts and what does it matter? Hell, you dont even gain or loose FP from victory of defeat in space. Doesnt matter what you fly, or if you win or lose, nothing is ever gained or lossed.

Personally I don't see them nerfing the ROTW ships, DP has already said he would rather bring the other ships up to the mark rather than downgrade anything.
Excellent point, and I wish DPs comment was brought up more often (or that he would come here to remind everyone).
I get so tired of people calling the RoTW ships "unbalanced" or crying for nerfs, yet I see very little talk of how the pre-RoTW could be improved to be competitive with the new ships.
Personally, if my TIE Advanced had 90k mass, I'd fly it again instead of the Eta-2. I don't care about the narrow weapon spread or the larger hitbox. It, and the regular TIE fighter (TIE heavy now) are my favorite ships.
Since better ships are available now, it doesn't make sense to handicap myself to using lower mass, or one weapon -- so I simply fly the Eta-2.
Add more mass to the TIE advanced, or two weapons to the TIE and I would fly those over the JSF any day.

i miss the days before ctss, when few ppl knew what overloads were, and when rebels grouped up 20 strong to take down the vette, and lost a forth of the group doing it.
I got 4444 without using any specials. I had a little help with a couple of my T4 missions which is why. But up till Tier 3 I never needed them so really never knew a bout them. I did the Vette (with help) with only WO4 and had so much help may not have needed it. But it certainly would make it more interesting without all the specials. IMO.

OK kids, before anyone starts the BBQ pit for Rapax, lets just take a LOOOONG step back for a breath of perspective.
Before you chuck a stone in his direction, ask yourself the following:
1) Do you fly any ROTW ships, which the general concensus of this board agrees are universally borked because of balance issues?
Yes, Bel-22
2) Have you ever used WO3?
Yes
3) Ever used a zero mass component?
No
4) Equipped a component on your ship that could be described as "pre-nerf"? (Come on, you droid commandos with your old style level 1s, step up and be recognized)
JTL Launch lvl 6 rebel reward engine, RE'd it myself without realizing that the specs on the other engines I used mattered and still ended up with a 9k mass, 68/68/70 (PYR) engine with 95.9 top speed.
If you answered yes to any of these questions, toss yourself on the barbie with him...

I earned the ship and like flying it better than any other for my Imperial character. I've had my characters set back so many times by this game due to bugs that were so much more obvious. If soe determines this ship needs a fix, so be it. Until then I fly it with pride.
I've never gotten a hate tell for flying it, though I also have macroed ttells I use in DS that warn my targets that their presence is known and a second tell asking if they wish to engage. I know most people are out there farming faction and I'm not into griefing others' game-play.

well i would want the old loot values restored so we could make 110 speed 80 ypr engines, and i dont want insane manuverability like we have now since it makes pvp akward.
Why would you need old loots? I made a 80-82pyr 103.8 speed engine based on post CU drops Friday night.

i kinda wish they would remove droid programs, balance all the ships, make pve alot harder, delete all existing ship equipment, and make everyone a novice pilot agian.
Id buy that for 200 alex!
EDIT:
Thanks for the kind words Leaph. Its a shame there arent more of you flying around
Just FYI:
On bria theres only three pilots i watch out for: Ostat, Leaph, and Growken. Those are the ones that give me a damn good run for my money, or flat out own me

So, in my opinion, I at least *earned* my right to use a JSF in PvP. New pilots just bought their right.

why were you only using 1 gun? with a .37 refire i assume you were packing an RE tri-cannon; you would have been much better off with a pair of smaller guns. dual re l6 guns could hit for a combined 3-5k dmg with 20k total mass and the same refire. you could even spice it up with a pair of l7 guns or an l6/7 combo.

I got 3/4 of my total PvP kills in a single-gunned TIE Advanced, and the gun in question had a .370 refire.
