Stop with the new "content" that only indroduces more bugs because there is no Q&A Dept.


Make everything currently in the game work first. Take those people you have working on new content and put them to work in fixing the thousand or so bugs that have existed since launch or were created by the other new content that was released live untested *cough*RotW*cough*


New content should come last, after exisitng things function...after the gimped, neglected professions get fixed...Smuggler, Ranger etc...after they make the Elite POB parts elite.


Many things should have a higher prority than anything new for at least 6 months....Fix it, then add to it.



More on topic, as long as these new ships have a purpose and require more than a couple people to function is see no problem with 7 turrets, as long as it takes 7 people.

Something alonjg the lines of not being able to launch unless you have a minimum crew invited. Or if you launch without the minimum only flight systems are active.

i think having this Capship would be a start to a player listed space station, and more Space zones. we could use a few more zones, more kessel like ones and probbly include a DEEPSPACE style are, unlike deepspace it cost more prestige to enter but you respawn in the same sector 100% con, and no peniliseation for beeing blow up, this will be a real PVP zone, and as long as you can afford 30k prestige every time you die you can respawn in that sector again over n over untill you run out of prestige. this zone will also have a -30% damage modifier to make PVP a little more fair. (although i feel it won't be needed much)

also i think we should have more missiles EMP knockouts that give your enemys up to 2 minutes droid outage. leach missiles that just drain shields down,

ablity to target droids and flight computers. (this needs to be installed so you can disable a players ablity to use flight commands such as shield shunt (i rely on this for my protection)

um if we can get blockaid runners :? with 8 turrets, umm well think about having them equipped with mining lasers and tractorbeams. who needs a Y-8 the vet will be a better ship to use. as its better designed. however the Y-8 looks nice inside its just impractial to use for anything atm

To be the most fun I believe the largest capital ships should be like cities in space.

city things such as a recruiter, space mission terminals, a bazaar terminal for buying things from the planet below, ect..



On the inside of the ship should be lots of (like 20 or so) turrents that are useable by anyone inside. And combat can be handled just like inside other POB ships with turrents. Making these turrents usable by any faction member will help ensure there are usually some people manning the turrents which makes it feel more star-warsy and more fun.


Attacking these large capital ships can knock out systems like power to turrents or mission/bazaar terminals, and at an extream, make it possible for all other factions to board and engage in on-foot combat with everyone inside.


Broken things in these ships will stay broken until repaired using shipwright-crafted components. Not neccisarily high-resource objects, but maybe upper-skill-box schematics. That way the schematics would make a shipwright feel more powerful and useful, but not more drained monitarily.


Finally the large capital ships can be either stay in one place above a planet, (think naboo/corellia/tatooine) to start with.


Smaller capital ships (corellian corvette, ect..) could be player owned like regular ships.

My hopes:


Several smaller (think gunships) Capitals owned by players (make them take 2 or even 3 ship slots if necessary)


The Vette however would be 'borrowed' by either a boarding mission as seen in the movie or 'rented' with Prestige


8 gunners, a pilot, a copilot, and at least one engineer (you can invite 20 people to your Yacht still so that codingis still there)

30k prestige experience is a joke. 1 gunboat gets you more then that. i have almost 2 million just from helping w/ vette runs since i mastered. thats a lot of respawns. if its gonna be respawn back in the system at the cost of prestige points, it should be a high cost, so you can't just sit and respawn as long as you want unless you have a LOT of prestige.

I have no problem with cap ships the size of the blockade runner being owned by a single player. They're not that much bigger than a Y-8 any way. But they should still require a team to operate. But if we're talking ISD size cap ships then they should have to be owned by a guild.


Also, since they're implementing boarding action, I would very much like to see boardable space stations. Being able to walk around inside them and also being able to dock with and board other players ships.

I saw the video an it looked pretty cool. But I doubt we will be seeing this anytime soon. But right now I wish there were just more reasons to go into space. Everytime im up there I see usually around 2-8 player ships. Most of them just floating around. Hopefully we get some more missions and stuff to keep space a busy place. Mayeby with the floods of newbs coming into mos eisley things might be a little different.

They should be playered own or owned bya squadron this system would be seperate from guilds but they would be the same but for space . you could have a small space station or a hanger you can put on the ground. bigger the squadron bigger the ship kinda lik epolitician . but you get xp for being captin or smaller for smaller positions .

the max amount of corvettes that should be in space at a given time is 3... One for imperial pilots, One for Freelance pilots, One for Rebel pilots(master pilots of course). however any number of missions could be given out. and in order to get a vette that is currently occupied is that you need to take over a vette from the same faction memebers. Like only a freelance pilot can get a mission to obtain the freelance Vette. and so on. This is to keep it so that one faction doesn't have all the vettes under one control. And same deal as last part once a team starts attacking the vette it is locked out from anyone else trying to damage the ship.

This i believe would be a fun encounter. And would put Space and Ground PvP into one. And the most fought after Corvette imo would be the freelance corvette. Since it can be used for the imperial side or the rebel side giving that side an advantage on the battle field.

That sounds like a sweet idea, ie rebel players get the vette and imps have to take it over wud be great battle in space pvp then great pvp on board when you dock it wud be sweet if they did that kinda like capture the flag with a capital ship

You're forgetting something. Plenty of people do not PVP and have no interest in PVP. While I enjoy space PvP I have little interest in in on the ground. I don't think people who do not PVP shouldn't be able to own or obtain CAP ships if they are in the game, at least as long as the silly one character per server(Two if you're a Jedi, who aren't even supposed to exist in this time frame) setup is in place. Concievably then a crafting character who is both Master Pilot and Master Shipwright would be unable to own a CAP ship because they don't have enough skill points to be competitive in a PvP ground combat field. To be honest I think limiting any new content in SWG to one small subset of players (I.E. Those that PVP) is a big mistake. Having some combat zones like Deep Space that are only PVP is fine enough. But any borad based content added to the game should be available to all regardless of whether or not they PvP. Their fourteen bucks a month is worth the same as everyone else's.

In my opinion, for what it's worth (Hey I spelled both of those out!), I'd like to see capital ships handled on a somewhat limited basis...
What I mean is, I'd be happy if they were handled like the old Battlefield ideas from before:
Earn the ability to use a certain Capital Ship within a certain sector/Battlefield-like Space Zone (Or possibly just Deep Space, but I think a seperate zone all together could be better fitting).

While it sure would be cool to be able to commandeer a capital ship to and fro where-ever you'd like and have large amounts of players traveling with you... I think a more reasonable and balanced game-mechanic would be to have them stay tied to speciffic missions and instanced zones... as well as used for PvP/other player interactions within specified Space Zone Battlefields.

It's not that I would hate to see them as open-ended/Player-Owned massive ships... it just seems like a more realistic game-design goal and that it would actually work as designed... seriously, I just can't expect them to design it more-open-ended and have them work and be somewhat balanced within the greater scope of the game (Though more importantly actually Work).

Anyhoo... it certainly is exciting!
