Thread: PvP Etiquitte?
Attack, obviously. If you're overt and engaged in combat, you know what's coming.
I'm still of the opinion they need to make entry points into Deep Space totally random, or at least random within a 1500 meter sphere. It wouldn't be a perfect defense against load campers, but damn it would help.

If they are already engaged in combat...then that person is attacking your faction anyway....just an NPC. ATTACK!

As far as Overts in any systems other than DS, too bad. Whether factioning, sitting at a station, performing a mission or whatever we consider them all hostile targets.
I'm not sure what game you are playing, but last I checked...the game I was in,envolved an Imperial goverment and rebel forces. Neither side would think twice about downing opposition ships at a spaceport.

So even sitting at a space station in normal space attempting to land is fair game?

If your overt, you shouldnt be "sitting" anywhere
Seriously the time i am the MOST worried, is when i exit deepspace to land.
No droid commands, all gone. And im most certainly not going to sit at a space station to redo them.
Exit deepspace = land immediatly.
Its exiting DS to land is what worries me most. Infact i get so edgy, one time i came accros a teir 1 or 2 overt flyer killing teir 1 spawns. Which i didnt notice tell after the fact. I immediatly locked and fired.
In the end, i wasted three MKII IR's on a teir 1 newbie, because i was nervous when landing.
PvP space combat lasts mere seconds from the time one player spots the other. If you declare PvP you are fair game where ever you are and whatever you are doing.
Everyone of my targeting buttons do whatever they are originaly supposed to do then tries to target the closest enemy player. So if you are in range of me you are the only target on my screen. I am either going to attack you ar try to run from you (mostly I'll attack, why not it's only a game). If your just sitting there or being obliviouse to my pressence then consider your destruction as a lesson learned.

heh, destroying a tier 1 ship cause it was overt, classic.....simply classic.
Yeah i felt bad about it. But really, you see a threat, you react. If you stop to think, you have a highly likelyhood of ending up dead.
See a overt player after hitting the Z key, its time to "let go your conscious self and act on instinct".
Hence why i said in one of my previous posts, that i "TRY NOT to load kill". Ive had a couple occasions where by the time my concious self had anayalzd what i was seeing, i had already manuvered and my finger was half way down on the trigger. By that time i was too late.
Anyway that teir 1 flier i openly admitted a long time ago. Starkitten gave me a good verbal beating for it

So you killed Starkitten? Shame! FOR SHAME! hehe.
Oh no. She's on starsider. Im on bria. We have a small community here. The verbal beating was on the forums
Come publish 20 though, i might just transfer my toon to starsider. So i might get a crack at her then. Although from what ive heard, i have no dillusions about being able to turn her awing into a smoldering space heap
