Hey guys. If you're having the same experiences please send PMs to the devs as I outlined in the original post.

Also, I've /bug 'd it several times and I'm about to open a service ticket right after this.

Thanks guys.

I agree finding a wingman is a pain in the a$$. I waited for some of my guildmates to get on last night to get done with Tier 3 Mission 2, and then I help one of them with Tier 3 Mission 1. Talk about some long flights. (And I thought that flight to Japan IRL was a pain!)

Nope. On Tier 3 Mission 3 you have to destroy them or you fail. You are escorting a decoy shuttle and if you don't actually destroy the Rebels or they don't 'buy' the decoy. Again, I'm talking about Storm Squadron here. There are more than 4 waves on every leg of every mission.
I was able to solo all the tier3 missions but the last one and no, I didn't have to kill all the incoming fighters, just disable them (or even ignore them) and focus on the bombers attacking the shuttle. And yes, I'm also talking about the Storm Squadron.

Really? You were able to just disable or ignore them? Even on Tier 3 Mission 3? Solo you say?

Well. I guess that all of the people from THIS thread must be wrong then huh?

Uh, no. I was able to solo all the missions but THAT one. I thought it was clear enough. To do the mission where you have to DESTROY (not disable) 4 incoming waves I needed help (which in fact was not 4 waves). The rest of the tier3 missions are soloable and so far the 3 tier4 I've done are aswell.

Let's see, what I said was: "For all tier3 missions 'but the last one'...", it's something that applies to all missions but the last one obviously.

Anyway, what I've found that works best is to break their engine to like 8% or less if possible. That way you can forget about them (specially on x-wings). They aren't disabled so they don't explode (or whatever they do), they'll just keep following you until you finish your mission. Also, make sure you leave 2 of them in this state, if it's only one then a new wave will spawn.

Mission 3 isn't the 'last one'. It's the third one. See right above where I'm typing? You said the 'last one'. That would be the fourth one. Not the third one. See where I say 'Tier 3 Mission 3'? Yeah. I don't think you read my post before responding and I don't think that you've done the Storm Squadron missions or you would know this.

Please quit trolling. There is a realissue here that needs attention and you're just complicating things by responding to something incorrectly.

I was 3-3-3-2 in Storm Squadren when I simply got fed up at these awful missions. Escorts that take 2 hours. I joined the imps on naboo and got to say they are alot better. Given that the devs have yet to even admit there is any problem with storm squad missions I would tell everyone to drop it and go sign up on naboo. Storm squad had alot of potential to be awsome but I have seen the following problems with these missions:

1) Time: I cant do a single mission for 2 hours straight. These missios are very long and tedious and if you mess up any part of them then you must start the mission over again. To fix this have the escort shuttles and freighters move faster.

2) Spawns: Mission spawns seem to be broken because they spawn endlessly, brining up a problem in most MMORPG games, which is that enemies after a while become anominous and the game becomes old fast. Wave after wave is not fun, it is frusterating to finally down a tier 4 a-wing just to have it be replaced instantly.

3) Random spawns: this is a major issue is the endor system. NCP spawns are everywhere and they tear you to pieces. Remove them from the endor system and have endor become a mission only sector (plus woud the empire really let all the pirates hang around durring the construction of the desth star?).

4) New Skill Boxes: One of the annoyances is that you MUST complete the mission in order to advance. At 2-2-2-2 I was expected to take on 12 tier 3 x-wings and y-wings and then disable a tier 3 a-wing after 2 more escorts. At tier 3 and above I think you should eb able to either get the xp for each or do the mission and automticly qualify for training.

There are others but cant think of them on the top of my head. Anyways Good Luck with these missions.

Seriously. I'm asking everyone to /bug this and open a service ticket. Also, please send PMs to TH, Tiggs, and the rest of the Dev team.

I did so today and if everyone starts doing this it may get fixed.

Thanks,

Yeah, I also heard from people from other squadrons that our missions are way too long.

I'm on the tier 4 mission where you have to reclaim the stolen ships from the bothans... It's not terribly difficult, just very very long. So I get to the stage where you drop off the satellites with the ship, and fighters come in out of nowhere, and fry my ass while I'm docking. Pissed me off. I try again. Samedamn thing, they only warp in when I go to dock and then kill me. How the hell am I supposed to complete this mission?

I see no reason to leave storm squadron at this time as some suggest. I enjoy the fact that it's mission and STORY (ie CONTENT) based. If you think that it's bad to be stuck at a pt because you're not completing a mission, imagine being stuck at a pt even when you complete that mission, because you were werehelping somebody else complete theirs and not doing yours. I was maxed at 1 mil exp prior to getting 3,2,2,2 and that's ok w/me, it's funny, but ok. I enjoy spending time w/the other pilots helping them out and i've done all of SS's and BE's tier 3 missions. I've even been on successful tier 4 missions helping friends and i'm still 3,3,2,2. Remember that high end content for master pilots is small right now. Hopefully that will change. I see no reason to rush, if i have a good time doing a mission w/someone i'm happy. I pay a monthly fee not to have a uber template or a better skill box for pilot, I pay a monthly fee to have fun interacting w/other players. If i have fun, it doesn't really matter. People that grind thru a profession while not having fun are missing a large part of the game. If they complain about not having anycontent later on, I have no sympathy for them.

I like the SS missions as they are. If it's a bug w/a particular mission, then it should be fixed. If it's the fact that themission length or difficulty simply is bugging players who are trying to rush thru missions and feel they shouldn't have to work hard, or take time doing it, then it should stay in.

As to the somewhat sarcastic "Hey look, I'm in Storm Squadron!!" type comment that was made in response to somebody saying they would feel a sense of pride and accomplishment,...i would say "It's not about what others think you've done, it's about what YOU know you've done.", youSHOULD take pride in what you've done, not show it off to others, imo.

Back to the other comment about changing squadrons....How would I think of myself if I left a squadron because the other squadron's missions were not as hard or long? I will get master. It will be while in Storm Squadron. I will still have my pride.

Leave them alone.

Im 3332 Storm Squadron and very proud of it. Proud enough that I don't want the missions nerfed down to the point they dont mean anything.

so many things in the game have been rendered meaningless. I found the Imp Outpost on Lok, on foot, pre mount. Swam a lot of the way.

Now, any noob with a rent-a-bike and a POI can get there. Means nothing.

By now most know that Storm is the long, mean missions. They can choose the others.

All I have been doing is helping with these missions, it's fun, and Im maxed on exp. No hurry to finish the last box yet, as every time I help its a different ball game. Today we aggroed the Pirate spawn, I called in Bomberstrike to keep them busy, killed the two that insisted on us and continued the mission. It's a different challenge each time. It has NEVER been exactly the same experience.

First time we did mission 2 the gunboat at the end nailed all of us. Again, today, with two maxed out level 7 techTie Bombers we chewed that thing to peices in very short order.

We are learning a lot, trying different tactics and different ships, and learning to fly as a team. The length and difficulty of the Storm Squadron missions is making that happen.

They should all be that tough IMHO. Look at all the Master Ace pilots already. In a month they will be screaming for content and threatening to cancel.

I'm also Storm Squadron and I'm having a really difficult time with the tier 3 missions. I don't mind that they're long, in fact I like it, its a really cool feeling to complete one long dynamic mission and get a new skill box rather than a bunch of mindless xp gathering. The thing I'm getting reallyangry with is how many random spawns there are in the Endor system. After every leg is completed I get a new waypoint like 15KM away. Itravel through 12KM of empty space just to find a whole swarm of pirates hovering around my waypiont. Its incredibly frustrating to do an hour long mission and then dieon the last part cause you're trying to fend off 4 waves of B-wings and end up getting gang raped by pirates.

If there is one thing I think they should and could fix with Storm Squadron its the spawn system in Endor space. The random spawns need to be greatly reduced, or if they want to leave Endor space dangerous, they need the mission waypoints to spawn in less crowded areas so we can actually do our hour and half long missions without getting jumped in the process.

My guild is totally made up of Storm Squadron. That is the key requirement. I am the black sheep, I work nights and play days. When we are on together, we help each other out with missions, we all place harvesters to get the resources needed to build our own fighters. We do this to maintain uniformity within ranks, and when it comes time to help a fellow guildmate, we are all familiar with the missions so we work more efficiently. I failed my first Denner mission yesterday because my wingman got in one last burst from his blasters after the target was disabled, and blew it up. No big deal, we'll be back tonight and I'll be flying either a bomber or interceptor as soon as we are done. I think tonight I will bring two wingmen so we can rotate out on bio breaks between waves, but I don't mind the length of the missions, it's much more fun than camping a rare spawn in EQ killing placeholders hour after hour. Sometimes day after day.

Okay after reading this entrie thread I will say that I am Storm Squadron 4443 and proud of it. I don't want to make this missions so simple that they are meaningless. I play on Flurry and we have a great Imperial Helper group that meets every night at 9:00PM EST on Yavin 4 to help with missions. The missions are doable and are long. The only probelm I have is that Storm Squad isn't for those that can only play a few hours a day. If they do that in most cases the help group will not allow them to return if they always bail after their mission.

I love SS missions and I don't want them to change but I think that players should have more knowledge provided up front.
