Okay after reading this entrie thread I will say that I am Storm Squadron 4443 and proud of it. I don't want to make this missions so simple that they are meaningless. I play on Flurry and we have a great Imperial Helper group that meets every night at 9:00PM EST on Yavin 4 to help with missions. The missions are doable and are long. The only probelm I have is that Storm Squad isn't for those that can only play a few hours a day. If they do that in most cases the help group will not allow them to return if they always bail after their mission.

I love SS missions and I don't want them to change but I think that players should have more knowledge provided up front.

I agree with this to an extent. Two problems with the whole, "Hey look at me I'm in Storm Squadron!!!" thing.

1.) You're not told when you join StormSquadron that the missions are going to be longer and more difficult than the other squadrons.

2.) And most importantly there is no reward attached with completing more difficult and much much longer missions. You get the same skill boxes as everyone else. They whole 'badge of honor' doesn't really do it for me. I want something a little more tangible...

sons of biatches!! who the f is following me one-starring the most non-offensive posts??? One-star for this???

"Storm Squad - 3/2/2/2, CorSec 4/3/3/3 and Havoc 2/2/2/2 so far and SS missions are by far the longest and most difficult of any I have done.

I don't mind the length as much when I am soloing them, but I am pretty sure I am going to need a wingman or two to complete the next mission I've failed a couple of times already (and once with a same tier wingman)and it doesn't make finding volunteers easy when they know they have to sign up for an hour or more."

Whoever you are that's griefing my rating, get on m'balls!

I really wish we could see who was rating us. The whole star thing gets abused way to often. I love your reaction. Very funny. Makes me want to one star you just to see what you'll do. I won't of course but very funny nontheless.

Yeah, I took a former guild mate of mine along for the last two. He is an Imp Ace so I built him an Oppressor in exchange for his help. He was pretty much a hard ass to begin with but having an Ace in an Oppressor really made the last two missions a total walk through. A very very very long walk through.

So I spend my time helping ANY SS pilot out with his missions up to the 4th tier boxes. 2 fold... heheh.. 1, I understand what they are going through and offer the help that I didn't have up until the last tier 3 mission.this gets me loot and starts the exp banking.Second... It's a pain. But I do not think it is so bugged.

I thought tier 4 was all XP based. Meaning you could train up to 4,4,4,4 on just XP.

This was my understanding as well, but i know that there's tier 4 missions, i assumed they werelike taking the duty missions from earlier in the pilot profession. The basic question is do ya have to complete them to advance or are they there strictly as a way to get the exp to level up?

after failing to get my first tier 3 box again i am not prepared to waste anymore time on it.

i've had enough, i'm certainly not enjoying it.

i have lost count of the amount of times i've got to the last stage and got demolished by the tier4 spawns that show up in the middle of my mission despite having nothing to do with it.

the first s.s tier3 mission has become the bane of my guild.

from now on my tie/ln is a free shuttle ride and nothing more.

Storm Squadron is definitely playing Pilot on "Hard Mode", and I like it that way. I've failed my first tier 3 mission 5 times so far, but I have not given up (well, I have given up trying to solo it but group flying is more fun anyway). Each time I do the mission I learn a little more. My new plan is to bring up 2 Tie Interceptors, to go along with my Tie/ln. Now all I have to do is find some Valcynian pilots.

BTW, I found out the hard way that multiple people cannot complete the same mission at the same time. I went up with 2 other people who were also on their first Tier 3 mission and when we got to the spawn point, 3 trasports jumped in along with 3 waves of 5 fighters every few minutes. Utter chaos, but a great time.

never had that with privateer.

Is this all one character? the reason I ask is Igenuinely didn't know you could be both a Privateer and Imp pilot at the same time....

Excellent post.

I'm currently 4,3,3,3 and have looted some awesome stuff. If any Corbantis SS members would like some help on tier 3 missions just send me a tell.

Also, my alt is a Master Shipwright so if you need a ship or have components that you would like REd please let me know. Ships are priced at about 4cpu and I'll RE whatever you have for free.

Well, after a couple of days with only a couple guildmates on and busy on their own projects, I scared up my guild leader and we started my first Denner mission. Another guildmate joined us shortly after, and the enemy fighters died almost as fast as they spawned, so long as I wasn't the one shooting them. Using the tips and pointers in the above thread, we easily completed my mission and I am now 3222. I now have my Interceptor as well as a bomber fo ruse as the mission requires. I need to get a few more components for the bomber though, it's pretty bare-bones.

i may do without a missile launcher for the time being, Hard to find on my server, and my only reliable contact is quitting the business this month and not taking new orders. The advanced blaster/heavy ion cannon pair does lots of damage quickly to the tier 3 ships I tested them out on, and the shields (taken off my TIE/In) seem to soak alot more damage than they did.

At any rate, all I can suggest is to get help for your missions in tier 3. One wingman in a decked out bomber is all I needed, the Aggressor was icing on the cake.
