I moved to Ahazi, but I think I need to make a pilot on Starsider again...

Oh, and kill counts; on Bria I had an 18/0 kill/death ratio, but most of those kills were just getting the drop on some unsuspecting Imperial that was faction grinding.

*cries* Ok..Starsider looks too fun. I'm 90% sure I'll transfer over there now and I'll probably start a new toon on Bria in order to just keep up appearances..onceitem transfer comes about. I'll happily follow whoever is in charge of the Rebels as long as it gets me proper player targets who could repeatedly hurt me. [There was no hint of Starfighter pilot sado-masochism there..erm..honest ]

I'm in charge of the RS's starfighter division right now. We'd be glad to have you with us.

From the sounds of it then, you're pvp'ing outside of Deepspace? Wow...most pilots I know would probably accuse someone of meddling in witchcraft if that were the caseon Bria and try and burn them . Sounds cool though...more variety etc.

Yes. Almost all of our organized events are outside Deep Space, which allows anyone to participate. Most pilots, after dying, will fly through deep space to get decayless repairs, but the events themselves are outside.

Frigate? Am I to assume this event took place in Endor? The frigate being that NPC Nebulon B class thingy..oh and Tomo mentioned Claw Station.

Yes. http://fightercommand.futuredroids.com/GH_ShowArticle.asp?HID=35&CATID=1|2|3That's our event for this last week. (I'm clicky impaired.)

I can tell you for a fact that it was always the missiles that did me in. I only got hit with a laser once, and that was just a graze. (Well, after the barrage of missiles had knocked out my engine or reactor, then they'd get me with lasers.) During the one wave I swear you guys sicced half your group on me. Every which way I turned there were lasers firing on me.

Oh, Pace--it's just something you slowly learn to do, with lots and lots of deaths. Joken and I both paid for those lessons the hard way, as I'm sure Tomo did early on as well.

I need to get some of my pilots, like Abi, who just mastered, out in their fighters more. I might have to stage some practice events for my pilots...*and* I need some of these guys to get some missile launchers on their ships. (Myself included, actually.) There's a few pilots that really can't be dealt with without them.

^ Try a Y-wing Longprobe. Good mass, two Ordnance launchers, two weapon slots etc. Two linked IR mK II's would hurt someones shield badly, even if its a t4 reward shield.

Or...the tactic some of my friends and I tried was, three A-wings with similar top speeds, racing into an enemy group, all with a missile launcher each, targetting one ship, firing, then diving into a furball. Now this is a little harder because it takes teamwork...and Teamspeak if you want to coordinate the timing perfectly...but I'm sure you guys would be more than capable.

Or a Y-wing LP and an X-wing flying as wingies. Y-wing trails slightly, locks on it's load...fire, moves away, X-wing does the same, only firing its blasters all the time which should put off any sensible enemy from engaging directly [caught out a few JSF pilots like this] An X-wing's weapon spread as you know is real scary...and if it is an Advanced x-wing carrying three re'd lvl 8 guns..well it is scarier still.

All perfectly valid tactics I've been considering. The trick is to make sure I have pilots there consistently so that we can practice such tactics in advance.

Leaph I hope you plan to stick around Bria in some way. Brianeeds some space leaders and that is definately you. I hope to see Bria holding events like these soon. The interest is there, the idea of civil and fun pvp appeals to alland alot of folks are getting the bug.

stop making me blush. I'm not that good..just smarter than your average Dewback. I probably will stick to Bria though...I just realised I'd have to pay to transfer my toon and its not like I can go into space and grind a healthy credit chip in real life..

Heh heh. Can't wait to get some of this new stuff rolling.

By the way, nice system knowledge, Leaph. Picking up where we were just cause someone mentioned a freighter?

Funny part is that it probably happened just like that. It's not me you all should be worried about. It's Harotak who is the one with all the skills. I just tell him what to shoot and he kills it.

As for using missiles against JSF. I am all for it and would have promoted the exact same thing. The JSF is probably the hardest thing to hit with a decent engine and why dogfight for 5 minutes when I can kill you in 5 seconds. I know it hardly seems fair but we've been over this ground before and will hold off on beating it to death again.

Thanks, I'm full of random knowledge . I've actually saved a lot of un POI erm points of interest in different systems as waypoints and they act as part of my 'patrol pattern' when I go overt. I'm a Rebel pilot and a pilot which 90% of the time doesn't have a wingman, so I store all the knowledge I can which may or may not help me when combat arises.

I'd have a lot of trouble counting a missile kill, either on my kill OR death tally - there's just no skill involved whatsoever.

I go out of my way to be a gunfighter (when in truth I have MORE than the mass to mount a Mk4 Proton launcher and KEEP my armor), so it stands to reason that I should only measure my successes and failures by those willing to meet me on an equal footing.
