You just gave all your guys missles and said, "Here, shoot the actis' with these," didn't you?
YOU were the guy who shot me down like twice!
Man, it was really funny cause I was sitting there dodging all of your hits and thinking, "Who the heck is in that tie with the yellow lasers?"
I swear, I had the newb group. I think I spent the more time typing than any other event before... ugh.
(Note to self, Never, EVER let Gwreng do that again.)
But yeah, the difference was your pilots knew how to pvp. Mine didn't. So I went in and watched my group disappear off the screen in like 5 seconds.

i flew an opp in one battle and HATED it, it was just way too easy. i was bored.
i will always be a gunfighter.
I'd have a lot of trouble counting a missile kill, either on my kill OR death tally - there's just no skill involved whatsoever.
I go out of my way to be a gunfighter (when in truth I have MORE than the mass to mount a Mk4 Proton launcher and KEEP my armor), so it stands to reason that I should only measure my successes and failures by those willing to meet me on an equal footing.
I never make a missile kill with my a-wing.IR II's singally don't make much of a dent.
However...try locking a missile onto an opponent when in a furious turning fight, it isn't easy, so yes some skill is involved. I personally just use my missile on JSFs -if- I can make the lock because usually they'll have a bigger shield than me, they're smaller than my A-wing -and- have two guns...so just scratching their armour a bit to make my single gun's hit do a bit more is fair in my oppinion.
Well...I think thats a fair application of ordnance anyway.

Missiles play a pretty big role in our fights these days. They're still mostly decided by flying skill, blaster accuracy, coordination and tactics, but between being quick with the countermeasures and knowing both which targets you should save your missiles for and when's the right time to use them, I've come to find there's an awful lot of skill involved in something that's often looked on as a cheap kill.

My whole viewpoint on missiles is they're a lazy man's weapon. If you can turn and centerline long enough to get a lock even with a Mk2 ImRec, you probably could've fired several seconds' worth of cannon fire.
Which I would be doing while I was lining up the shot...I don't mean to sound contrary or rude but there is a fire weapon button and a seperate fire ordnance button for a reason. Its not like I spam people with 3 linked torps...and I don't think thats bad either. Hell, 'm an A-wing pilot...Missiles used to be..well could still be our worse enemy...I have the right to fire some back!
But heh, lasers make a better kill, I agree there. Missiles are a more or less last resort thing and nothing stops anyone from putting c/ms on thier ships...any pvp'er should have cuntermeasures even if it is just standard chaff. Its still pretty good stuff.

Multitasking, for the win..along with A-wings..and...GCW in space..if it ever materialises

Last night sounded like one of those good battles. As for me returning it is coming. Working on some small details for it. So expect to see me back up there soon with all new equipment and hopefully skills. Praying that I'm not rusty.
Oh, crap.
