Yes thank you, I can read. Tomo said he was going to look into possibilities, that's what I'm looking for. The current CU isn't worth a pre-order IMHO.

By the way, today we were asked for a few questions from the community about CU-related issues, and I made sure to bring this up. It isn't directly related, but I figured it was close enough I could squeak it in.
Hope to have an answer soon.

What about all of the loyal pilots who can't (slow connections) or simply don't want to do
the DDL? I personally like to have the box and the book and the other literature that comes
with getting a game from a store. This is stupid. 100% stupid. EVERYBODY should get the
extra slots. People have been begging for them since day 1 of JTL. The JTL community is a
small one, and chances are the people who will be using the DDL will probably not even
want/need the extra ship slots as most people only use JTL as a means of free
transportation.
I will not be geting the DDL. If I do need or want more ships I'll just keep the deeds and
parts in a backpack until I need them.
Yet another in a string of poorly thought out ideas for "rewards". At least you people are
consistant.

This is not stupid, it is smart marketing. Do you know how much it costs a company to print, package, transport, and sell items on the shelves. There is easily over a 50% markup because of this. Plus they then have to share the profits with EBgames, WalMart, GameStop, or whoever sells it to the end user.
With the digital download, there is none of that. SOE cuts out the middle man. I'm sorry that your forced into having a slow connection. And I do hope they will retroactivly give you the three slots at a later date (maybe next years expansion).
However, I'm getting the expansion through DDL. And I'm going to enjoy the 'perk' of having 3 extra ship slots. You might want to consider doing it too.

If you are concerned about the digital download, enable BITS. That'll get a lot of files to you before the expansion is released. Tiggs even said so herself.
It makes perfect sense to do it this way for the reasons the previous poster stated.
Its also a trend: pre-order JTL from EBGames, get an exclusive speeder, buy the bundle pack, get the BARC Speeder, buy the collector's edition of the game, get an exclusive set of goggles. I was noticing this on some other non-SWG MMORPG's. SOE is not the only company that does this.

Simple--they need to stop a dike from leaking. The quality of the game and the experience the CU is so bad that they need to provide some incentive to gain back some revenues to balance the mass of cancellations they have experienced.

By the way, I tried to get an answer as to whether people who don't buy the digital download could ever expect to see more ship slots any time soon and couldn't get any info. The questions were supposed to relate to the CU, so that could mean anything, but figured I'd pass along what little I know.

The code for US and japanese version is the same. So either Tiggs or the japanese announcement is partly wrong.
