It makes perfect sense to do it this way for the reasons the previous poster stated.
Its also a trend: pre-order JTL from EBGames, get an exclusive speeder, buy the bundle pack, get the BARC Speeder, buy the collector's edition of the game, get an exclusive set of goggles. I was noticing this on some other non-SWG MMORPG's. SOE is not the only company that does this.

Extra ship slots now with the box-set as well as DL pre-order. Forgot to get the clicky, but it is in the announcements.
No this is not right! Give me an option here devs. I would very much like to participate in your promotion but you dont seem to have given me an outlet.
I'm also a big fan of JTL, and I've been really wanting at least one or two more ship slots since the day the expansion went live, and now that your handing out extra slots I'm gonna get excluded becouse I dont have a credit card?!? Come on!
How about a special edition of RotW or something. Charge me an extra 5 or 10 bucks. I'm cool with that, but give me a chance to get in on this at least.

What about all of the loyal pilots who can't (slow connections) or simply don't want to do
the DDL? I personally like to have the box and the book and the other literature that comes

extra slots. People have been begging for them since day 1 of JTL. The JTL community is a
small one, and chances are the people who will be using the DDL will probably not even
want/need the extra ship slots as most people only use JTL as a means of free
transportation.
I will not be geting the DDL. If I do need or want more ships I'll just keep the deeds and
parts in a backpack until I need them.
Yet another in a string of poorly thought out ideas for "rewards". At least you people are
consistant.

I would be out on space alot more ifI was able to chat while in space but since they have not fixed itI have not been in space much. I find it too difficult to try chat while flying. I mean you keep haveing windows opening and closing while you type and you have no ship control while typeing. AND YESI have bugged this along time ago and also recently. WhenI am on space I do not talk to noone and I do not group for space either(cause that would require me to chat with group). Maybe if they fixed this bug (which seams to be a very limiting bug) they might get more people in space.
Yes the CU is a mess. But I feel there is some corrections made in it but there was new problems added with the EXTRAS they put in. YES I feel they pulled a bait and switch tacktic by saying one thing and then at the very last minute saying something else.
But I love Starwars and I am willing to stay around for alittle while yet and see if the Starwars feel is returned. Right now there really is no Starwars feel. Just a setting. I really am hopeing that the Starwars feel will come back. I have been playing since wellthe release I think.It took me almost ayear to master CH but I am a casualplayer. Now if they think they upset the diehard and power gamers think aboutthe casual gamers. They wont think twice in leaving. They wanted this game to be for all players but they seam to be excludingsomeof the player and playing styles.
With there recent actions with the new exspansion and update they really need to take a look at whathow there customer satisfacation ( I cant spell) is. And address that issue as well. I believe they will and hopefully they will.
Now am done I just had to vent alittle about everything. I will go now before I say something bad about SOE and get banned for it.
