TIE's don't affect your combat very much, but they're all the same and get boring.

The Oppressor has a drastically different cockpit view, and each of the other models actually has a unique cockpit, with different types of frames and trims. I love the TIE cockpit view; it's so much better than that of the Rebel or Freelance ships.

Ive never seen a b-wing cockpit frame but if someone would post a screenie that would be cool

Iam flying a TIE Interceptor and I think the cockpit frame is very cool with your 4 guns on all sides. I dont like the regualr TIE cockpit frames, the interceptor is like a dead-eye ship to me very accuarate. Never seen a TIE oppresor frame but soon will

I actually fly with the cockpit frame off... it allows for a greater field of view but the big reason I do it is...

with cockpit frame 1-2 fps

without cockpit frame 30 fps

which would you choose?

(also getting near space stations lags my frame rate like mad as well....)

Decimator looks excelent, you get the view of the prow of the ship stretching out and reflecting any lights.

I love the feel of being in the pilot seat, i got my TrackIR working good and i keep the cockpit frame on. I like looking around, i just wish the lights on the instrument panel would light in different situations. Even a light turning on to signify S-foils open or a mini radar display on the Consol. Maybe a threat indicator light on there also. Everything flashing o nthe screen is cool, and probably represents a monocle HUD in your helmet. What also would be cool is if when you had the cockpit frame up when you are arming warheads a targeting computer swung out in front of your eyes like in Episode 4 in the Xwing. I know i know i can dream.

Hmm, guess I'm the only one flying in 3rd person view mode. I'm used to it, I have a great view around and I like to see my ship

I turned my cockpit frame off when I moved up to my first Y-Wing. The view was claustrophobic in the Y-Wing to say the least. I felt like I wanted to lean forward to get a better view out of the cockpit glass. The game is smoother without the cockpit frame up too (and I do have a killer gaming rig). I don't miss the cockpitframe at all at this point.

I only play Third Person, I like to actually SEE my ship blowing the snot out of people. Not to mention you don't become blinded by the flashing weapons as you would in First Person.

Loved the cockpit view in my Scyk, Dunelizard, Kimo and again now in my Kryat. Absolutely could not pilot with cockpit turned on in the Rihk.

The Y-Wing cockpit frame is kind of like peering out of a crack in the wall. I honestly can't see a damn think with the cockpit art turned on. Easly 50% of the screen is taken up by the frame itself, and much of that with dead black space as opposed to actual artwork. I'd probably have turned the frame off anyhow, since in a real ship I could do things like move my head around to see what I am shooting at, but the bulkiness of the Y-Wing frame more or less set that choice in stone.

I didn't mind the B wing, X wing and Rhikcockpits but the kimo and the Krayt are awefull. I turn them off.

I agree on the M22-Krayt. Horrible cockpit view. You have two big vertical beams taking a huge chunk out of your visibility. Turn those things off!
