Personally i found A wings a bit harder to hit then T/I's.
But really it depends on what ship your using.
Shooting at a T/I with an Xwing is a bit easier. You have a good spread on the weapons.
Shooting at an A wing in a Tie with Chin mounted guns, the hitbox is tight, your gun spread is tight, therego your aim must be tighter.

I agree with you, I had a much easier time hitting the Awings in the Ixyien than any of my TIEs. I could take out the teir 5s in just a few seconds if I got the going latteraly.

Weeeee, currently working on my 8th badge. Storm will be the 9th.
Think ill have me a copy shots of vodka before missions.
I'm just starting on the Imp squads.
Nothing has really challenged me yet (i'm doing it all solo) so i'm looking forward to the imp squads.

A-Wings are a real pain in the ass, because of their immense speed, they fly right off your screen and you gotta keep turning and turrning, only getting a shot or two off every once in awhile.
It gets worse at higher tiers too man.
Also, Y-Wings are pretty bad as well, especailly when I'm in my uber-fast TIE Interceptor, they make such sharp turns at such slow speeds, I gotta loop all the way around again to get to him and by that time he's facing me (I go for rear shields) and barely knock down anything of his stats.
However, /eweapons (Emergency Weapons) is definately your friend when fighting these. What it does matches it's description -- it disables your shields and nearly triples your weapon dmg. I was 3 shotting tier 4's (im a 3/3/2/2 imp inquisition pilot) in my interceptor and one shotting tier 3's, it was insane. If you got good shields and can take a few hits or take good evasive measures, use /eweapons tophuck those A-Wings up man, they're great for the slow moving ywings as well.

You simply aren't moving fast enough if you cannot everget behind them.
When I started using engine overload three I discovered that both A-Wings and Tie Interceptors became much easier to kill. Instead of trying for a deflection shot as they flew past I was often able to bend my Rihxyrk around and stay behind them just long enough to blow them to bits. The secret to shooting these ships is speed with a touch of manuverability. Their tiny hitbox is much less of a problem if you can get right on their tail, even if only briefly. Fast firing (.300 or faster guns) help tremendously as you will only get a brief interval to fire at them before they scoot away.

If you've got a fast enough ship, A-wings are easy.
My main is a master rebel pilot, my alt is working up the Imp trees.
Killing Opressors in an A-wing, now that sucks.......lol. That rear facing turrent is a bear........lol.

Fast, manueverable ships work well against A-Wings. Accellerate close to their speed, and you can stay on their tail. Fighting them in a big circle with a slower ship doesn't work very well. I suggest either a faster ship than a TIE bomber, or use your bomber to joust with them.
In jousting, slow your ship and let the A-Wing fly away from you. They'll head out, arc, and come back for a head on pass, that's your best shot to get them. Works decently when flying really heavy ships.

Heh. Wait until you hit Tier 4. For the 4/3/3/3 mission (first Tier 4) of Storm Squadron, I gave up on destroying the A-Wings and left a engineless fleet floating in my wake. I'm using a Heavy Tie, but the escort missions are LONG and the time between enemy fighter waves is kinda short if you destroy them.
You can solo every mission in Storm Squadron. It just takes some nice equipment, overload programs, and dirty tactics.

A-wings used to give me a bit more of a runaround in my rihk than Interceptors did, I got round it by fitting several .27 refire guns on my ship. There's no real way to actually *miss* when you're throwing that much coherent light around

Agreed...tier 5 droid fighters are very quick and tiny. Can I have one?
Something to spend Prestige on perhaps? Call in a group (2 or 3) of the droid fighters to assist. Kinda' like a Bomber Strike but costs Prestige points instead, and they'd stay with you until destroyed, you hyperspace,or land.
