Something to spend Prestige on perhaps? Call in a group (2 or 3) of the droid fighters to assist. Kinda' like a Bomber Strike but costs Prestige points instead, and they'd stay with you until destroyed, you hyperspace, or land.

Nice idea
They should follow us when we land! Droid fighters where fuctional on the ground as walkers as well. Balance them to the AT-ST or even a lvl30 droid on the ground....it would be cool to have it land with you and follow you around. lol
!

Yeah if you could get droid fighters for anything it should for a NPC wingmam/Ground droid.

I would suggest getting a Heavy Tie. Wingmen are very handy, and though I found the majority of missions in SS doable without one, it is more fun with one and easier.
But there are tons of A-Wings in SS and its easier IMO in a Tie than a Bomber. You certainly can do it with a bomber but I find the Tie less stressful
