Thread: FOTM Jedi Starfighter....
The advanced X-wing completly takes the piss with its huge mass (I thought 100k was good enough :/), the Actis is way too manuverable/small for its mass (It should have about 30/40k, to be a true specialised craft that requires a lot of work).
You no longer see people fly in different craft. Before ROTW I remember seeing Imperials fly all kinds of TIE varients, from the manuverable Interceptor to the triple-missile Opressor. Each ship had a role, and you personalised your loadout to fit that role.
Now with Heavy ships, and the 'advanced' versions, along with the Actis, that has all gone. R.I.P.
I am a former Alliance pilot who dominated in an a-wing and now a Freelancer who has lost against a-wings in a Heavy Scyk. Sorry to say, I have no sympathy. You're just not used to having to deal with something as hard (I guess harder) to hit as an a-wing.
Besides, since it was a 3-on-1, you should have no chance to begin with. While you're circling one, the other just picks you off.
nerf this.
Now, go away.
(obviously, I don't feel that this post deseves anything more)

I was just saying that you are complaining about the same thing that we Imps had to deal with before the RotW ships came out...
The A-Wing was the most superior in turning and speed. We had to adapt and out-maneuver.
Andremember, Isaid.. every time youthink you were getting fired upon by the Jedi Starfighter, you may have actually been receiving fire from the other two people attacking you also.
Are there really pilots this stupid?
JSF isnt impossible to take down, but very difficult so long as the pilot of one has good awareness. I was able to get the jump on one in kessel using my 101K mass xwing. But when he returned i couldnt get him on my screen at all, then BOOM. Sad thing is he had 50 ypr engines and i had 72-76 ypr ... even in an xwing i should be able to at least get the guy in my screen at some point but no chance the second go-around.
Thing about the JSF is (and i assume) that it handles much like other ships with max ypr stats ... great at max speed but ypr decreases as max speed decreases. The xwing on the other hand improves ypr as you cut speed to maximize ypr at around 60% top speed.
This makes it very tricky to take one out. Long range 'jousting' leaves the xwing at a severe disadvantage due to profile and weapon spread. Close range leaves the xwing at a disadvantage of turning rate at high speed. If you can get in and cut speed to 60% or so, the xwing stands a good chance.
But after hittinga JSTwith a full salvo three times to destroy it (using two 3K .67/.67s and one 2.6k .7/.7), i doubt the awing stands much chance when using only one weapon mount.

Anyone can use a Grevious, but they don't have the tiny size advantage of the Actis.

Your A-Wing was the same thing that you're complaining about before RotW came out.
Deal with it, adapt and fly better.
Kehtal has a point. The A-wing is at least balanced to the other ships, the new RotW ships are not. Given its manueverability and profile, the JSF should have less mass then the A-wing, not more.
I've tangled with Kehtal a few times in the last few nights, and I would rate him as a very skilled pilot. In any ship except the RotW ships, I would place money in his favor. The only ship I've seen take out a JSF using blasters (not missiles) was another JSF. The RotW ships need to be balanced, not nerfed though... nerfing leads to them have no use, and I'd like to see them have a little use, but not be the I Win Button they have become.
Kehtal, see if you can squeeze an Image-Rec 2 launcher in your A-wing. As an old Bomber pilot, the IR2s have been standard operating procedure for TIE Bombers / Oppressors for taking out A-wings, and they are going to be the standard for taking out JSF now too. Every ship I have is loaded with them for just that reason, even my JSF.

One problem with that - a good Opp is manouverable and has 3 missile tubes!
