I honestly would like it if they just balanced the JSF and Bel-22 to the same stats as a TIE advanced. Then the only difference would be that they have different "skins". 2 guns, 65k mass sounds about right.

I think the issue is, by and large, over blown. It is not like we won't see New ships. What then becomes of this discussion? Themods for the Jsf and the Bel were already in the game -- starter ships. Ultimately they are little more than heavy starters with one more missile slot and a smaller Hitbox. But, why did the devs put them in? How does it mesh with future expansions, or, future additions. What of the rumor of Capitol ships? Will we simply see them implimented, and, nothing else change?

Has there Truly been an imbalance, And, according to the numbers... how many People does this issue ultimately impact? Does not the issue of exploits have a Far Far greater effect on balance than the chassis themselves? Take the nice Mods of the RoTW ships -- JSF and Bel first -- and then erase the Mass consideration, dump in your 0 Mass, lvl 10 Weps, etc. Drop in your exploited shields, your crazy engines... and what have you got? Heck, an exploited Anything ship will give you outrageous imbalance, and, judging from some of the recent threads and posts on this topic, it's been far more widespread than many ever thought. (Many -- not all).

I would be foolish to say that these ships are here to stay. I would be Just as foolish to say that the classic ships are here to stay as well, when you least expect it,SWG has a long history of going topsy - turvy.

to be honest if they knocked off 30k of the RotW ships or lowered hem to 65k id rather use a TIE advanced...but they are good for grinding purposes (this is my first time with pilot) and when i do hit deep space...sure i used the bellbulab and ill prolly get my arse whooped but hey...experience is a teacher...tho once i hit master belbullab is gettin deeded...

That's good, you should WANT to use a TIE advanced. Think about it, a 20 year old ship like a JSF or a brand new prototype for an advanced fighter (TIE advanced x1).

Indeed, plus it gets boring shooting down JSF/BSF clones all the time when what i REALLY want to do is take a bite out of the elite of the Imperial Navy.

They REALLY need to tone down the JSF and BBub-22.. think of it.. they are CLONE WAR ERA SHIPS why should they be on par with an A-Wing or TIE Advanced?!

Well, the Vaksaisucksai's. 1 weapon and 1 ordinance. It's a POS.

I am an SOE customer, now only if they'd treat me as one...hell, I'd be happy if they treated me like a McDonald's customer.

I like the Belb-22. I understand how some people feel they are unbalanced and I agree... They are for a true pilot vet... However, I dont have access to these UbEr low mass part with high stats some of you guys seem to have!

I search the bazzar daily (vendor galaxy search) and the BEST of what I can find is only moderate compared to what some of yall stick in your smaller fighters... The Belb-22 lets me have a ship equal in power to what those who have their smaller ships stacked with the best of the best have. Some may say that is unfair and maybe it is... But money isnt the object with me!!! It is finding a damn shipwright who will sell me some of these UbEr parts!!!!

I aint picking up shipwright as I'm done with crafting for now... Crafted for the first year of the game... So that leaves me at the mercy of the bazzar which on Bloodfin, ATM, sucks. I also refuse to use up all my lots for ship part storage! After dropping crafting I finally can have just **one** account and have enough space to have a nicely decorated house with some lots left over for the future!

Anyhow, that is my take on it

Practical use and whether they fit in timeline/balance are to be separated.

In practical terms and in my opinion
1. The Heavy X is the best PVE ship in the game. I would say it is overpowered as a PVE ship, but I refrain from it, I really enjoy flying it for PVE.
2. The JSF has a clear and significant advantage over any other ships in PVP, but only a slight advantage of a smaller combat box over the B 22. They have the best of the best of all aspects of PVP, except they dont have 3 ordnance slots. Their mass is more than enough to fit everything necessary and a little extra.

In terms of balance I would not nerf the new/old ships but would update the old ships so they get competitive, especially former agile fighters like the A wing and the T/A. Bombers could have a slight upgrade, but they are not rendered obsolete by the new ships.

I personally see it as a challenge. There is something invigorating about shooting down a JSF or aB-22 solely with the guns on an Opressor. Though it is even more sweet when i do it with a Tie Interceptor Classic.

I would beg to differ.

I can quite comfortably fit 3.5-4k front/back of shields and armor in mine, my nym's engine, and a cert10 REd gun. And countermeasures. And torps. If I wanted to be more evil. I'd fit a bigger cap, and more armor, and use it as a flying bomb

As I mentioned a while ago, being able to take out a player ship (the lighter ones, anyhow) in the first shot is *very* satifsying, especially when they can't do the same.

Moral of the story - just because you don't know how to utilise it, doesn't mean something sucks.

As I said earlier to the guy that said some of the preROTW ships were useless, there will always be someone who will fly a particular ship as it suits their style of play or its their personal preference, dont dismiss a ship just because YOU dont like it. When I first started flying I hated teh Awing and didnt fly it for months and then went back and loved it, now im going back to using Ywings and they are highly effective, even in PvP.
