Have no fear! Sometime in the next week or two I'm going to make my alt. I've flown Imp through 90% of my JTL experiences, no reason to change now :-)

PS: What time are the Sunday events? Currently I attend a Sunday event on Bloodfin at 6pm EST, I hope it doesnt conflict.

This discussion actually came up on Saturday. Someone mentioned that a reb pilot was on their friends list and was probably avail through /findfriend. It was quickly and strongly stated that such was not to be used in events. In fact, I think that is the only time I have seen Resha go OOC and not somehow mark it as OOC. It's still a good idea to remove folks. But, most folks are making an effort to have fun with the events.

Looking at my notes, Saturday, we had 10 Imp pilots and crew (8 ships). The week before was 10 again (8 ships). Two weeks before that was 15+ (I missed my second week on starsider. I also think Tomo came in late for this one.). Those are not always the same folks. Numbers are never really high. But moral usually is. There is a little griping about being out numbered and such, but it never really gets too strong. And, it's human nature to gripe about stuff before a conflict. Those who get shot down early, often end up becoming pests trying to find out if they should return immediately or wait for a regroup. The only time I saw someone leave after a shootdown they had some high end parts and needed to get a low end repair kit to do just enough to get them to DS.

As far as helping each other out, I have been incredibly impressed with the Starsider Imps. But, I also think the Rebs are the same way amongst themselves. Even, sometimes across factional differences for both. I can not say again how much I enjoy Starsider and the Pilot community I have encountered in it. I am just now getting back into the ground some and will hold judgement on that side.

Even if someone has an Imp alt that is low level, you can join. I was powerleveled the morning of my first large scale PvP to 1211 and had to ask how to declare I was so green. Even though I got blasted several times (mostly to put me out of my misery I think), I enjoyed it immensely and have not turned back. Many of these battles give you what you bring into them. If you expect fun, you will more than likely find it. If you expect the other side to exploit/grief/zerg you, that's what you will find.

I'm nore rebel by desire but I could fly as an imperial for now if we really need it on SS, just I'm gonna need a decent amt of help in form of blowing me out of DS toteach me how to PvP better but I'd rather stick to my original plan of going rebel once a decent RE store saved up as corsec

I'd say fly what you will enjoy. But, if you are wavering, going Imp may help to even the odds some. Especially is it is an alt that you really only plan to use during the staged events.

You might enjoy the challenge. Besides, from what I have seen of the Starsider forums, there are at least 2 people who have accounts primarily so they can post on the forums and do their utmost to 'jack any thread they can. Funny sometimes. But very difficult to have a discussion. And, many posters here are Starsider

One way I was thinking that we might be able to better balance numbers for events (if there are far more rebels than Imperials) would be to make greater use of MP ships, like the Y-Wing and ARC-170. As such, the number of players would be the same, but you'd have much less sheer numbers of fighters to deal with.

i made a new char on SS a week ago, and made him a reb, for the fact i realy wanted to fly and x wing, when i first got this game, i thought privateer would be cool and fun, but alas, its not, so i make someone on SS, so i can fly my X. i've created imp pilots as well, and i also dont like the ties, not nearly enough fun for me.

The previous statements were a joke. This disclosure has been added for those who cannot sense sarcasim a mile away, or take a joke... Hooray Starsider, you rule. We don't. WAH!!!!! ')

I spent the better part of two years active on Ahazi. Then I slowly converted over to Starsider. Now I play on Ahazi about twice a month for about an hour until I realize I'm never gonna get the parts I need to get even my a-wing up and running.

QFE... that goes for the Imps that show up too

What I was trying to say is that yes I've been load killed before. It happens. The Alliance fleet has lost people due to the fact that some people just can't handle the fact they if you PvP in space it's always a toss up. No matter how good you are you will get killed and you can get killed by just about anyone. (this is what makes space better than the ground. No flavor of the month templates) This is especially the case of large scale pvp where death can come from who knows where and you almost never know who shot you down. A lot of one on one pilots who have come over to the server have been quick to point out this fact.

There have been times when our fleet was in bad shape as well and we were getting stomped at just about every battle. I would consider the attitude of most of our veterans and especially our organizers to be quite the opposite of Leet kids. ( We do have a few people with bad attitudes though. Hey it takes all kinds. ) That why you will se pilots flying Y-wings in our fleet. Because we would rather have a fleet than a couple aces. Also we have a small number of dedicated squadrons. Being in a squadron is far different than being in a PA that just happens to have a few pilots.

It's got nothing to do with faction. Rebels are not more mature than Imperials nor Imperials more mature than Rebels. I've run into pleanty of rebels with bad attitudes when I play my Imperial toons and quite a few when I play my Rebel toons.
