This looks like there will be some options added in the Shipwright menu when crafting a chassis, to add the upgrades listed in the pics. A "Heavy Z" might be a nice option for the starting pilot over the freebie Z they get now.

Just read this little gem off that link: "The small, extremely agile ship is surprisingly well armed, despite its relatively tiny frame. However, its weapon systems can't sustain long periods of rapid fire. Then again, for those pilots who use the Force to stay on target, this shouldn't be a problem. "

Not sure I like that little "hint" at all.

jedi aren't going to get crap for pilot bonuses. and if they do, so what? you have to know how to fly to win in space. not macro grind professions or kill rancors.

I'm more than a bit worried about the new ships being unbalancing to PvP combat in space. If these new Imp craft are even faster/more maneuverable than the current Imperial craft, and Rebels get no such upgrades (only mass), Imperial pilots will quickly dominate the skies.

Thats a concern of mine as well, but im in wait and see mode. I dont think that article was all inclusive.

T/F - z95
T/I - Xwing
T/A - ???

MIssing piece to the pattern there

Besides a heavy z95, might just be an arsekicker. Its turn rating is very high. Given enough mass, it could be a beast.

What I don't understand.. how could anything be any more unbalancing to PvP?

One-shot one kill versus... what... one shot one kill?

Balance? In PvP?Currently not implemented in JTL, PvP is pretty wacked in JTL (not that I don't participate but we all know it needs serious fixin.) Balanced PvP goes on in Allegiance, not JTL.

meh, damage is *just* about right i htink. Maybe a *tad* lower, but thats about it. Every good dogfight i get into, seeing how long it takes to score a single hit, i think about PvP damage reduction advocates and how what they want would effect PvP. Nobody would ever die

Hence when i think balance, i think in terms of ships: their size(hitbox) and manuverablity. Right now what you fly, buteven moreso, what engine you have in it, has a huge impact on PvP.

I really wish people who complain that all combat is 1 shot kill would come to Starsider for a couple weeks and try it...and they would discover one of two things:

1.) Combat isn't that simple, because good players (like the 121st or some of the A-wing pilots in particular) are maneuverable and can absorb one or two shots.

2.) The newcomer actually sucks at PvP and finds himself floating home while the rest of the pilots continue the battle.

Really, people...PvP is fairly balanced right now. (Though a few Rebel pilots suspect the TIEs are a bit too small, which means a smaller hitbox.) I'm honestly worried that the new Imperial fighters' maneuverability, if it is indeed higher than the craft we have now, could unbalance the PvP and hand it to the Imps.

For me, and most pilots I fly with, you are correct, it's not one shot one kill.... I'm running all re'ed parts and (without trying to sound boastful) I'm a pretty good pilot.

On the otherhand, when I pull into Deep Space and find someone sitting in there brand new shiney FireSpray just sitting there. Not even moving. 650m out from the Star Destroyer.... I hear tone, i see red, I let one fly, he's done. Thats easily 75% of the PvP encounters that people hear about at least.

Should it be that way? Nope. I agree with what you're saying but that happens quite often. Yeah I know, Spacebombs are a cheese kill but hey, the guy was just sitting there begging to die. On Starsider, you folks actually embraced JTL (I'd love to come and join you but with zero creds I don't want to have to grind a new toon, Mono has been trying to get me and Vid over there for awhile now.)

So, I see your point but I also disagree that these new ships are going to "imbalance" JTL PvP. Especially since we have no idea how the three new ships will be certed. Again, I will wait and see.

TIE's are smaller targets, but again they have half the mass of their rebel counterparts many of the times. I love my Intercepter for PvP, although I fly my FireSpray into PvP just as much and that thing has an ass like an aircraft carrier.

Skilled pilots with good re-ed components will take a few good shots before popping, newbies die so fast they never want to PvP again... I'd like to see a happy medium.

I don't mean to come across as "these ships are horrible and will unbalance everything!", even though it may seem that way...I'm just expressing concern that, from the description, they might.

Oh, and if you'll join the Rebels on Starsider, I'll hook you up with any Rebel fighter you need up to an X-wing. That goes for anyone!

Again, thats my concern as well. Imperials already have 2 .. no 3.. very viable PvP ships. The T/I, the T/A, both ships i beleive are slighly better than an A wing in manvuerablity. On top of that nothing says "I wub you" like a salvo of 3 MK II image-rec missles from an oppressor.

From a practical standpoint, rebels have......

The A wing.

So ya, a supercharged advanced or interceptor is of concern. Espeically if the pilot community is hit by a wave of "fence hopping" because of it.

The z-95 has the most manouvability out of all the ships, if its gettign a mass upgrade it should quite easaly be on par with the interceptors and the like, id guess

I know it's true, but does that strike anyone else as...well, wrong?
