Would this description fit what was happening?

He was moving up and down and left to right, stopping and starting, also he would appear to jump from location to location, then for some reason he would fly "normally" again then the act would start up again?

If thats anything like what happened, its lag.

It's not a guess. I see it happen with people that are lagging all the time.

But hey I wasn't there, so he must be exploiting.

Actually, I was up just 20 minutes ago in corellian space, and I was noticing a whole lot of server side lag. This is the type of lag where the client show's you flying fine, however, you're actually somewhere else on the server. Stuff like it was taking me 10+ seconds to start up a booster, and I couldn't damage things even though I was scoring direct hits. This leads me to believe that the pilots I were flying against would probably have seen me flying around at seemingly insane speeds, and jumping about erradically.

But I'm a legit flyer, always have been always will be. Either something was amuck with lag or I simply am the best dodger you've ever seen...

Yes, I'm not doubting you. I'm just doubting the reasons as to why someone would say you are exploiting.

Considering that it could be lag or it could be speed racer x, and that it must be speed racer x for God knows what reason.

Ok, well...I was there and I lived just a long as him.

Heres the way I see it: We just went to Deep Space a little while ago and it lagged so bad that it didn't even show on his screen that I had killed this player yet, and then he started jumping all over the screen, appearing behind me and in front of me, and I've seen his engines. I would have to say lag on that one.

I wish people would try and think of the logical before saying something is an exploit, but I will say that your conclusions were fesable considering the Speed Racer engine exploit and the fact that none of you know Joken like I do, even if he's not a guild mate.

Edit: My bad, it was Deep Space, not Kessel.

No, there were two seperate points of contact where we encountered this "phenomenon". The first, he was essentially unhittable with about 10 "fast attack" pilots while he picked off two of them. The first experience there was no "stopping and starting". There was just "starting". There was no normal activity whatsoever. Essentially circling around a 1km radius around the area, not "randomly" jumping, there was a pattern.

The second, he was the only enemy pilot (again), basically flying circles around us without doing much else for5 minutes. Then he finally slowed down noticeably, picked someone off, and "took off" again. That's when we just left.

Now, you can point out whatever you please about lag. Why were none of the other enemy pilots affected in the same manner if it were lag? Or during the last event?People who normally wouldn't be so quick and impulsive to act on simple coincidence were alarmed. An odd recurrence of the same phenomenon, under different circumstances, with the same person, if nothing else.

I don't believe I killed anyone in the first or second skirmishes, only in between when we found a loner. And on my screen I was flying in tight circles with everyone around me...

I dunno, it may be that I found some accidental way to make my ship move like a speed racer x bugged engine but not show it on my client... I didn't do any rubberbanding though... Maybe it was the opposite, you guys were having lag and I wasn't... A rather unlikely idea, but a possibility.

But I AM NOT a cheater, and from previous engagements you should know I don't need to be. And I certainly did not use the speed racer x bug. Was there something amuck? Sounds like it. Did I intentionally use it? No.

Especially with all the talk of "exploits" floating around, I just hope it's somewhat understandable the reason why people would be inclined to worry about this. I don't know Joken on a personal level, nor do I believe did anyone on the Imperial side at the time. When you see something like that multiple times from the same person, it's reasonably difficult to accept the coincidences. Now, I'm absolutely willing to accept the fact that you were lagging so badly on both occasions that the same phenomenon happened twice. I was just a little irritated by the original posts, though they may have been in good humor, or not.

I have little doubts that had the same set of circimstances happened on the converse side, the "offender" would be receiving the same reaction you did.

Well at the time I didn't have a good description of what I was apprently doing to you guys.So I thought you were simply saying I was corkscrewing and dodging your shots like mad--which I'm good at--and you guys thought I was exploiting. Now I have a description of what I did and I'm gonna try and duplicate it near where I was both the times it happened.

Alright, my 2 creds. I wasn't there tonight, but I do know the parties involved.

I've known Joken for quite a while...in fact, Tomo referred to him as my partner in crime at starfighter PvP events. He and I have spent a lot of hours flying together and discussing tactics, equipment, and so forth.

Just judging by character, I would vouch that Joken was not exploiting. He has some knowledge of some of the exploits that have been used in relation to JtL, yes--but he never even told me about some of them until I commented to him that I'd heard about some (from a source that will remain anonymous ). Whereas we know now that some pilots on the server have been using exploited gear. If Joken had really wanted to take advantage of it, I would've known about it.

As far as the Speed Racer X bug...you all conveniently forget something Gwreng said about it. It is not controllabe for combat maneuvers. You all watched the video. To try to handle that speed and that maneuverability and manage to hit anything is insane. The YPR normally scales with the throttle...under the bug, it did not.

Guys...I really think this was a lag situation. Corellian space is fairly high-lag...comparable with Tatooine. Compound that with any possibility of unstability in Joken's connection, and you have the aforementioned situation.
