Thread: Might transfer to a new server

Strike Kitten down with all your hatred and your journey to the Starsider will be complete. Or join the Reb side and worsen my kill : death ratio.

Valcyn and Chimaera both seem like they have an okay JTL scene, and I'm sure there's other good servers, too. But I think it'd be pretty awesome if you joined up with either the 121st or Black Star Alliance, my current guild. I could use a new wingman, my old one quit a few weeks ago.

By the way, good to have you back, man.

Hey, Starsider's got drama. Our unofficial RP background ensures that.

Also.. my wingman? Eh? Eh? The 121st's Violator squadron is looking mighty empty right now. Sell your ADK and the other stuff and I'm pretty sure we could track down a pre-nerf 6, even.

How's that for seduction to the dark side of the skies?

So... assuming sony ever gets the "character transfer with some items" working. I think im gonna escape for stalag Bria and look for greener, pastures that aren't "heavly populated". Of course my first question is, what items can i bring with me. Of course i dont expect anyone to know the answer, just throught id toss it out there just in case someone does

But more importantly, where should i go?
Generally speaking i think i have two ways to look at this.

I could:
Go to a small server, probably end up being the "big man on campus", maybe even be the best shipwright on that server while im at it, and have plenty of reason to strut around like a peacock because i probably wont be challenged like i have been in the past. But i could try and cultivate a better space presense in such a place. Although i think eventually id get bored and be very lonely as flying alone all the time is dull, and I bore easily.

or i could:
Go to a server with a larger space presence, have the value of humily instilled in me on a daily basis , have a constant challenge and make the local doctors very rich by my frequent visits

Now im not discounting it, but other than Starsider, where else is there to go? R

ight now, all i know is:
A.) im sick of bria. (Better Reboot It Again)
b.) I hate starting over from scratch, hence im waiting for transfer with items to work. Although im not holding my breath on that.

I had the same question when they first announced the change in transfers. Here are the ones I have as quoted from CSR-NashK

"CSR Nash K.: Everything on your character and in your inventory, including in
your backpack, except:

* Resources

* Credits

* Factory Crates

* Structures

* Anything in your datapad.

* The only schematics you will get are the ones granted through skills,
not quest granted or limited use schematics.

Structure and vehicle deeds in your inventory will transfer."

Hope that helps.

*Edit Oh yeah, and if you are force sensative(glowy), you can hang up doing a transfer all together*

Judging from the last event I attended, we could use more Alliance pilots than Imperials. We were fairly outnumbered. Though the Karthakk system battle showed both sides could field a fleet's worth of fighters, with the right event promoting.

I have played around on some of the other servers and I have found that Starsider is a good middle ground... not too crowded but enough people that it is not a ghost town unless you go to Mos Eisley cantina (AKA the "AFK Cafe").

There are several guilds dedicated to JTL pursuits. My guild just returned in force a couple weeks ago after a layoff and have graduated a crop of Masters. CFA (Crimson Fleet Alliance)is a ground up JTL guild and several smaller outfits dedicated to space are active. Heck, I now have a POB ship and crew I'll takeinto Kessel and tackle anything up except the corvette without fighter support and I'm not the only one at that.

Oh, I know, there are some great people, people in CFA, GSA, and espically the folks in ODS come to mind. But, I stick to my statement, if he wants to be "big man on campus" space just ain't gonna do it. Espically considering that there are a few really respected pilots already, Zafo, Razz, and Jey come to my mind, I'm sure there are more, but I hope you catch my drift, its not that its a bad server, its just that it would be hard to obtain "big man on campus" status.

Yeap, we could always use good pilots no matter who they fly for.

Do you folks use teamspeak?

Thats a big, big big factor in my book.

I used to play planetside alot. Being in a guild/outfit/squadron that uses teamspeak is probably one of the best gameplay experiences you can have online. Games more fun, and you really talk to people.

My guild does, and so does CFA on Kettemoor. I definitely like it for working with gunners on my POB.
