I guess I should mention that the ARC-170 is my ship of choice even when I'm solo, so letting someone AFK in the back while I farm parts is not really going out of my way.

Short of duct taping someone to the wing of my interceptor, I don't fly anything that someone else could ride in. So I would have to out fit an aggressor or my ARC 170 and I would have to fly a ship that I don't particularly like flying. That coupled with the potential missed loot that I could be getting, would cost them a quite a bit of credits. Of course that isn't even a guarantee as I probably wouldn't feel like doing that even for several million credits.

I'd say "sure, I'll do it!", then have them pay me, take them up, wait for them to go AFK, then land and keep their money. Hey, if they're dumb enough to ask such a stupid question, they deserve to lose their money. And besides, they didn't say how much EXP to get them, now did they?

But seriously, this is completely lame. I wouldn't mind taking them up in a ship if they're going to grind themselves, but there's no way in hell I'm going to take them up and grind for them.

i deleted my aggressor because i got tired of "helping" people only to have them never set foot in space again.

likewise, i do not help people with most missions anymore either. i will certainly give them advice, or help them with their ship, or teach them droid commands... but past that almost every single mission is soloable and useless pilots don't make good wingmen in deep space.

Or park somewhere and see how long it takes for them to figure it out.

I have a confession to make regarding the Aggressor:

Despite the poor firing arc, I have always wanted to fly gunner in one, and NEVER have. Not for the XP, but for the challenge in aerial gunnery.

Well - he was either goofing with me (playing dumb...) or a complete noob (but how did he get ace?)

Yes, I know... I am mean, but I did tell him the truth after I had my fun...

I heard of a guy who PAID for another person to grind out his jedi character for him. after his template was finished and the toon was turned over the account ended up on Ebay because the guy who owned it got board with the toon.

I tried it one time. It was a waste of time. It's far better to just go wingman for someone than try to give them a free ride.

There's only been two people I've helped seriously grind with them either being in my ship or flying on my wing with me disabling, both of them are guildies, one had a computer sans a joystick (I've seen him fly in other games, he'll do fine once he fixes the hardware problems) and the other guildie just isn't very good dog fighter but did fairly well commanding a nova (calling out target positions for the gunners and what not)

I liked that comment about how valuable someone's game time is. I guess I will never "help" someone grind like this again, xcept for people who offer me good pre-RE engines, i cant turn them down
