Thank you all for your opinions, it sure gives me something to think about.

Also "So in summary. I won't offer and I won't grind for free. It is my only mercenary quality. I mean, since I joined Starsider, the amount of free loot I've given out to people (including a re'd decent QID and a lvl 10 engine) has been quite startling."

Now Im thinking of starting on ALT on starsider...

i charge 10k per tier for missions and 1k per 1k of xp usually

for the 2 master missions i usually charge around 100-300k each depending on how eitherhow good orrich they are.

never help anyone grind for free(especially afk grind), they have to pay the penalty somehow.

Do you mean it's a dead point because you don't have a gun equipped there? Because it looks like you mean that it doesn't work, but mine works just fine... I've had my gunner kill targets without me even pulling my trigger once.

Just fyi in case you think it's bugged.

I don't help them. It's inevitable that they'll hit Deep Space and get blown away by an Ace who actually did do all the work. Then yet another person will be on the forums screaming "NERF SPACE PVP DAMAGE!!!!"

Which is interesting, because the reason that I advocate space PVP damage being reduced is that PVP is so very different than the PVE training that upcoming at-stickpilots are getting.

Somebody who's gotten skilled at balancing shield wear vs. getting lined up for a good shot on target is no better prepared for being one or two shotted than a regular Joe Nugget up in space for the first time.

I'd be perfectly happy if PVE damage came up instead. I just want PVE and PVP to be closer together so more pilots doing the first will be more ready and able for the second.

Just one consideration here. Some of the people you are talking about mightbe roleplayers who want that badge solely because it is required to fly a POB ship. Thus while afk grinding won´t teach them anything about space combat, that might be irrelevant as they probablydon´t intent to engage in it in the first place.

The only person I let ride in the turret of my Krayt is my second account character. I haven't bothered running her up through the ranks very far, though.

Despite the poor firing arc, I have always wanted to fly gunner in one, and NEVER have. Not for the XP, but for the challenge in aerial gunnery.

Oh, it's a HORRIBLE experience! Nothin' but sickness and the frustration of never hitting anything!

I keep a well-stocked Y-Wing so that if I am going on a Space mission/quest/grind and a newbie Pilot wants to come along, they can safely participate in my back seat as opposed to getting blown away in their weaker Ys or Z95s.

Mostly I tell ppl that grinding is a necessity because you can't learn to be a good pilot in a YT turret pointed at a spawn.

I got good from one thing... Stick Time. Stick Time. Stick Time. That's what I preach to pilots that contact me for help.

I help pilots with missions, but I will not help with Tier 1 or 2 missions.

Good pilots can solo all the way up to the Vette, if not the Vette itself. (Except Imp. Storm Squad. pilots hehe that's rough!)

2 things I do.

Either take them in my Krayt if I am going into space anyway. They however, do not have a weapon to use as that is a dead point, so yeah they just sit there and get XP.

The other thing I do is take them in the YT and park at the ERT spawn. Then I just let them pound away at the stream of ships. I make creds and some loot while helping someone out.

My opinion? I'm all for it. If someone's dumb enough to pay me to level them, I get money, and I have an easy PvP win. (and yes, I'm mostly joking)

I got an offer of 10 mil to get someone from 3333 to ace on stormsquadron. I use her account to do it, and the pay was too good to say no to but at the same time is deepspace ever gonna be a shock for the poor girl.

meh, why not. I grab the Krayt, do BS missions out of Theed, get a few dozen parts, some credits and as long as they have a macro going, they get XP. Makes me feel like a gun maker, sure I made the weapon, but it's not my fault the owner shot his dog. The idiots need to know how to use their power, or they end up legless, armless, crawling on the ground screaming , "I Hate you!"
