Neutrals are getting to much love in fighters. I say the new ships should go to ALL pilots, not just ya'll.

I switched to the Krayt and love it ...except for the two wing guns. It's taken me a while to get used to it but I figured out that if I roll so that my wings are in the plane of the targets turn I can yaw with it and the wing guns actually make a nice spread that hits quite often.

Yea, but I noticed I can actually be missing a target that is between the center shots and the wing shots, The Rhix's spread is very even and I can do exactly the same thing you are doing in the krayt and not have a gap in my fire power. Plus for Gunboats the Rhix seems to hit with all shots better at a distance.

Having to get rid of one is an unenviable position. I have both and a YT in my datapad. When flying solo I absolutely prefer the Rihk, mostly because of the gun placement but also because of the gun strength. Having four guns in the krayt means I had to go with four advanced guns (my turret gunner should not be mere token IMO), whereas my rihk has two experimental guns and one advanced. This plus the wing spans on the krayt tends to mean that in one on one I can usually bring more firepower to bear in my rihk. When neutrals get those new ships in the expansion I think Ill redeed my YT before I redeed the rihk.

Neutrals had BETTER be the ones getting the other three ships!

Develop a Solo and 2seat loadout for your Krayt. Dont waste the mass on a turret gun if you dont have a gunner. Also... you've mastered and dont have RE'd (or at least looted) guns on the Krayt? I mean, of course its not going to compare when you're packing inferior heat.

PS- there are enough threads about RotW and who gets which ships, no need to hijack this one.

The Rihk has better gun placement, the Krayt has better handling. The extra mass on the Krayt usually goes towards the 4th gun unless you develop 2 loadouts. If I ever get back to neutral I'll be leaving the wingmounts empty and just equip 2 RE'd L10's on the centerline. Maybe switch an L8 RE'd reward between turret and wingmounts (depending if a gunner is along or not).

Overall, the Krayt is the better ship.

I dont like developing two loadouts for ships, that would burden me with always having to carry around, or in some other way store, my other package. So I go up the same with a gunner as I do without a gunner. As far as RE guns, I may switch out when I get enough to RE, Im also a MSW. Its not really a valid argument when both the krayt and the rihk have crafted guns.

No need to really consider it two loadouts. When I flew my Krayt, I simply moved one of my three forward facing guns to the turret when a buddy came along. Then I would move it back when done. The time difference between killing high tier ships with 4 guns vs 3 isn't really enough to worry about.

Especially when one of those forward facing guns is all but useless. Rhix all the way

None of the forward guns are useless. You just have to learn the angles to hit with them all. If you consider it like atmospheric flight and try to keep the same "up" as your opponent, yes you will have problems hitting with the wingtip guns. However if you use your roll and keep yourself at the proper angle, you can hit with all 3 guns 99% of the time. Flying at what would be considered unatural angles in atmospheric flight is one of the keysto hitting often in space flight.

I'm not quite sure why this question was even asked because all things equal, the Krayt wins hands down.

1. It's better looking.
2. Packs more fire power.
3. More mass.
4. Allows a turret gunner for your friends to have fun.
5. Better maneuverability.

I have never had a problem hitting with any of my guns on the krayt... even my turret gunners have a suprisingly easy time. This ship is just a beast.

Oh and piskobunny has a good point about removing that turret gun if you don't have a gunner . I keep mine in just because I've got nothing better to do as well as the fact I randomly take guildies up.

If your hitting with your wing gun then you arent hitting with any of the others (with the exception of a gunboat), to me that is useless. In the rhix I'm almost always hitting with 3 guns (maybe 2). Just because you require a gun spread that is as wide as the ISD doesnt necessarily mean its good for anything but noobs .

Im still very green with my krayt but I have to say hitting a traget (while an adjustment) is not all that hard, just takes some getting use too.

That you claim the wide spread isn't good for anyone but noobs is actually funny. Usually the first people to claim stuff like that are the ones that overestimate their own skill and gave up when they couldn't do something. As I stated before, it's possible to hit with all 3forward guns AT THE SAME TIME in a Krayt, you just have to know how to work your attack angle. This coupled with it's agility advantage over the Rihxyrk makes theKrayt a better ship in my mind. Don't claim a ship is for "noobs" just because you can't fly it and use it to it's fullest.

Ok just my opinion on a few points.

1. It's better looking.

Not by a longshot. Rihk has to be considered better looking by evenmost of the krayt supporters.
2. Packs more fire power.

If you go with the three guns and more one of them up to turret with a friend then you arent gaining any firepower. 3 vs 3 guns. If you went with four guns then those guns would necessarily have to be less powerful individually and probably also amount to the same firepower of three guns.
3. More mass.

True, but 20k more mass for those advanced components doesn't go as far as we'd all like.
4. Allows a turret gunner for your friends to have fun.

No dispute, my first choice when involved in any sort of a group.
5. Better maneuverability.

Exactly the same yaw, pitch, roll. The speed/acceleration/deceleration is slightly better but not the maneuverability.

Im not saying the krayt is a bad ship, quite the opposite I like it quite a lot. However in a straight up judgement between the two as a single person fighter Id have to judge that the Rihk is more than capable of holding its own and worthy of a place in any masters datapad.
