A-wing. It's got limitations. It's a challenge to get the right balance.
But for now I have to fly 'Space Composite' to compete
/slapsenselessSnap out of it. An A-Wing is still a perfectly viable ship for anyone with a squeak of gray matter. If you need ANY advice on how to set up an A-Wing to bishslap a poonfighter, send me a tell ingame, Kettemoor.Janu. I will walk you through the EXACT process of putting together an oldschool ship that will throw these punks screaming back to Endor.
Not losing a perfectly good A-Wing pilot to those Jedi POS's if I can avoid it.
For myself, I prefer the A-Wing when I'm up against a JSF pilot who needs to be brought down a peg or twenty.
Pfft, as much as I'd love to fly the old girl again, I simply know that I don't have the parts, paitence or general skill to go using something that's about 1/4 of the power of a space composite fighter :/
You have inspired me to give it a go soon though, i'll go on another RE spree soon
I like the Vaksai - but am really dissappointed in the absence of a 2nd gun port. All that mass and no second cannon! ![]()
Oh and she is as big as a bus - but she is a good ship!
I really enjoy my YT1300 - it is just so hard to find a good crew (should be easier to find a crew with the new components coming in! "Hey kid, want to fire a 5k damage cannon?")
I also like the RGI - too bad she is bugged... (see: unfun for others)
The JSF is fun - and has a huge stigma associated with it... ![]()

Really, there's only one component on the A-Wing that needs to be pimped to handle the JSF, and that's the pilot. Putting together asolid machine is as cookiee cutter as it gets. My A-Wing, Leaph's A-Wing, have all been posted up. I prefer an L6 engine, he builds his around an L8. The reality is, you can probably get away with a crafted L7. You don't NEED an L8 gun to compete, you sure as hell don't need an L9 or L10.The rest of the components I use are L3 to L7 and can be made by any Shipwright, with no extra experimentation.
The real key, and that does take time to find IT, is knowing how to work your machine better than he knows how to work his... A superior ship isn't always more powerful, its just flown better.
Don't give up yet.
I am Jack's PvE Lawnmower.
Oh, thats a hard one....
I'd have to say the TIE Interceptor, because it just looks so cool, granted I wish it had a little more firepower, but I'm NOT going to be caught in the cockpit of a JSF for any reason, no matter what.
The Firespray is a close second though ![]()

Daishi, a VT-49 Decimator, hands down my favorite ship.
Went from 4333 to 4444 this weekend. I'm all about my TIE Advanced. I got a heavy TIE, but haven't yet given it a decent loadout. I really, really dig the two gunpoints on the Advanced. I also dig my JSF, but usually I stick to the Advanced out of a sense of pre-ROTW pride.
I'm really looking forward to geting a Decimator, though.
