I've had some 3-on-1 engagements last more than two minutes.

Simply put, anyone on Eclipse who has ANY sort of PvP experience knows I'm not an amateur. A couple of times I've run into people whom I let go - one case in particular was a guy farming FP in Kessel a few months back. I engaged him once, he engaged me the second time, and the third time I sent him a /tell saying I wouldn't engage him if he didn't engage me (since I didn't want to COMPLETELY ruin his ship), and got a /tell back to the tune of:

"I DIDN'T WANT TO KILL YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE / LEAVE ME ALONE, YOU'RE F*CKING UP MY SHIP"

I felt kinda bad there...so I made a new rule - unless it's in DS, I don't kill the same person more than twice unless they engage me. If you engage me for kill #3, then God have mercy on you, 'cause I sure as Hell won't.

This leaph guy... Sounds like a jerk to me... Like a jerk who is prejudice against rebel aligned nuetral pilots... Like a jerk who probably wouldn't know sheild shunt if it hit him in the forehead... Like a guy whosay would, say, onlyrethink helping youwith a mission toget a Vaskai fighter only if you gave himan advanced X-wing... Would probably "claim" that he was giving it to a friend... What a jerk...

They hear ingame about the Uberness of the JSF and forget to read the fineprint on the forum that we're mostly concerned that two equal pilots with 1 in a JSF and the other in a pre-RotW ship fight ends with the JSF victorious most of the time.

Just blast them, /addignore. When their JSF drops to low condition they'll be scared to lose it due to decay and won't fly it in PvP anymore. Problem solved.

I won't hold it back. Even though I'm basically the Reaper of JSFpilots on Bria with my A-wing...I -hate- them anyway. I might even start up my own Inquisition guild which crusades against ANYONE in a JSF . I can name no pilot in a JSF who could consistently kill me on Bria [discounting those who exploit their shipparts and they know who they are]and that is saying somthing because either my theory on the ship being overrated is true or...more likely, some people need to learn how to set up their ships better or shock shock jumping jilligers Batman....might want to consider flying somthing else.

Its just as I see it....new pilots are coming up , getting to t4...earning the jsf then they're spoiled. The JSF has a nice mass, excellent manouvering....hell excellent -everything-. There is no particular direction in which to take the fighter with as far as setting it up and using it goes. It is a fighter which enables a player to not try as hard during pve....then when it comes to pvp they get a real big shock because they die and they have no idea why because up until that point, they were invincible.

Since too a lot of these new pilots are avid uber d00d3 groundpounders too...well, they're not used to death and having their 'lives' snatched away from them by some...'other player =O ' gets them a bit hot under the collar.

It really is sad. No matter how nice you are to some people, even after slaughtering them/reducing them to subatoms/mailing their ship parts back to them through snail mail......they just don't learn and adapt.

My policy in any sector from now on will be. If I target you and you're moving around therefore probably in control of your ship andnot afk flying circles [which I've seen before...overt and afk in kessel...why?]then you will be attacked withextreme prejudice on my part [prejudice meaning lasers..not like 'oh i hate you' etc] and it is up to -you- to stop that from happening. This has just come around because I just logged off for the night and tonight on two occasions the same JSF/and also newly made master who I even killed the vette for who wanted a friendly duel [so I'm not just aiming this at JSF] now hate me for the simple fact they accepted duels with me and lost.

-Leaph Chausew [By now you've probably realised I like that phrase 'learn and adapt'. If not well...its my motto for this game ]

P.S

Someone...PLEASE throw some missiles at me? I want to see people spamming me with 3 linked IR II'S this week. Hell...even E-pulse me. Somting original please...I'm bored of pvp'ing vs JSF's. [and no being e-pulsed by a JSF doesnt count ]. I mean also....even krayts are nasty vs A-wings if you get the first shot in. RG TIES too have uber small hitboxes and I'd love to see imps flying those more on Bria and with the easily aquireable quantum ion drive inside one they're pretty mean. In fact fromf lyign with my Bria Imp alt, I'm inclined to say that the RG TIE is th ebest pvp ship in the game. slightly better r,p,y acceleration than an a-wing..same slots etc for components and it is equally engine efficient. Plus with 80k max mass....well I'll just say I wish my A-wing had those attributes.

It really is that simple. Get an RG Tie...get a quantum ion drive off the loot quest...re it eventually. Get a nice lvl 8 gun some mk IV shields etc and you're on your way to a good setup pvp ship. Plus with a squint you get only one weapon slot true....BUT that one weapon slot fires from four points meaning wider spread weapon fire.

Ok...now I'm done finally...[like the way I included somthing constructive after all that criticism in order to make myself look fluffier?]

It's a lot of the new ground pilots, not just JSF crew. I always liked space PVP because it seemed more civil, you could drop a tell like "Nice flying" and they'd reply. Now they give you the finger.

Some jerk in a B-Wing kept cutting me off while I was trying to work a duty mission, going after my targets. So for fun I sent him a /duel. He died pretty quick, but I sent him a nice tell, and he got rather huffy with me. Well, don't compete with me for spawns, and don't duel a faster ship.

Don't think most of them will last long, at least.

Could I just ask one thing here. Try not to lump every single JSF/newly mastered pilot into the same boat. Myself, I have had JTL for 6 months now, but have only recently mastered pilot due to medical problems that made flying with all those flashing blasters for any period of time over 5 minutes impossible (hence being unable to finish my fourth tier). I've been looking forward to mastering pilot (finally managed it this weekend) and being able to engage in PVP (have read these forums a lot so I knew what to expect). Aside from deep space on my server seeming to be as dead as a dodo every time I have gone up there, I'm loving it. Never once have I sent or been sent hate tells after an engagement, win or lose.

Basically, in a roundabout way, I'm asking that veteran master pilots like yourselves give us newly mastered pilots a chance to prove ourselves, improve, adapt etc as you have all done in the past.

You talk about space combat being more "gentlemanly", then I suggest you try not to be so closed, giving off this aura of a clique of old-timers and anyone new is simply not worthy. Bragging about how many noobies you can kill and how many people you have on your /addignore list is not conducive of being a gentleman. All it does is hurt the state of PVP in space even more, something that we all don't want to see.

Eloquently put, but the best way to learn is whilst under fire. You don't learn how to PvP by shooting down T5 PvE targets.

I learned pretty quickly my first night in Kessel when I had a group of three people jump me twice. Got five kills and no deaths that night and felt like friggin' Hercules.

This probably isn't the best place to put this forward, but one thing that would help newer players to learn the skills of space PVP would be a duelling system that could work similar to non-death-blow duels in the ground game (a /friendlyduel command if you will). Rather than have your opponent's ship blow up, perhaps have them be disabled for a few minutes.

Would give newer pilots a chance to learn pvp and I imagine some of you older hands also wouldn't mind a duel where you don't have to worry about decay of your expensive and hard-earned RE'd components.
