Thread: How to Fix the Jedi Fighter.

I certainly don't want to see anything get nerfed and I don't want to see quest rewards go away. What I would like to see happen is to have SWs be able to craft components and chassis that are just as good as looted/quested ones. The other night when they opened up the respec I saw alts running around our guild-city that I never even knew existed.
This goes for all of the new loot items. Not just JTL stuff. Previously looted items still had to be crafted such as the DE-10 and AV-21 so that the crafters weren't completely removed from the equation. What's happening now is just silly.
The thing is though, that the non-JTL quest rewards don't really compete with the regular crafted items, let alone turn them into obsolete junk. And to top it off, they are nothing but wall ornaments anyway, unless you've got spare ADK's. Who on earth would use their Proton Carbine freely, when you can only do the quest once?
JTL stuff are not as affected by decay as these items, which I think is good. I wouldn't want to buy a new ship every few weeks. But the result of this is that the new ships will and can be used freely, and when they completely makes all the old ships completely obsolete, then there is a problem. No, the best thing to do is not to bring the old ships up to the "level" of the new ones, while this is possible we would end up with a space game that needs a Combat Upgrade of its own. It's much better to "nerf" the new ships down to the level of the old ones, who all fly in a tested and working PvE and PvP game.
Honestly, I think the developers just did some copy & pasting when they did these new ships, and I highly doubt that they did a reward ship vs. already existing ship focus test in the 10-minute beta they ran of RotW. There is not much point at yelling at people asking for nerfs or a rebalance of these ships, blame the developers who put them in the game in the first place. Yell at the developers who seems to be determined to give us "Composite in space". Don't yell att the players who are just trying to save their favourite part of the game.

This has everything to do with Imps having a quest... a space quest.. that give something with "Jedi" in the title.
Do you seriously beleive that?

Is there a reason why the other ship doesn't need to be nerfed? The other one with the EXACT same stats? I really wish all the nerf-babies would just button it and either play the game or go away.
All the new reward ships, and heavy fighters have been brought up in this discussion. Their stats have been compared as well and the same conclussion was drawn.
Veg, I need you to sit down. Are you sitting down? Seriously, sit down... I agree.
My alt was a Master Shipwright and I spent weeks collecting resources, setting up vendors, organizing, preparing to make the new ships for everyone. Not only are they better than the ones I can make but they are... free.
I was ready to hit the cancel button on my alt when they let me respec her. The new (free) ships are simply better than the crafted ones. Basically a player can get a better ship than I can craft (for free) and fill it with components that literally fall from space (for free).
I certainly don't want to see anything get nerfed and I don't want to see quest rewards go away. Pretty soon they are going to have to makenon-combat professions 0 skill points...
I had a couple of guildies that were in the same boat as you too. Their fingers hovering over the "I Quit" button. The changes they just made in regards to shipwright components are going to make a difference I hope. Still more work to do there but IMHO the more we can do to help and encourage our crafters the better.

Am I missing something or doesn't the other quest reward ship have the same exact stats? I have both of them. They have the exact same Mass/Speed/YPR.
This has everything to do with Imps having a quest... aspace quest.. that give something with "Jedi" in the title. The title of this thread is "Fix/Nerf" the Jedi Fighter. Not the Grievous Fighter. Which everyone is able to get.
Seriously, just get over it already. Get an alt, trade with a guildie, create a toon on another server. Whatever.
They all have similar stats, and if you'd bother to read up some more, you would see that we are actually advocating a "nerf" on all these ships. Look at the stickied "New ship stats" thread in this forum for more information.
It has got nothing to do with "imps getting..." or "jedi". However, you do see more threads about the Jedi ship than the others, most likely because it's the ship that "everyone" wants.

I salute you...... I love my fighters the way they are and changing them would brake my heart.I would rather the rebel pilots I fight agaist on my server have an exact match of my fighter then to see the new ones nerfed down. Hell, why not give rebels the Delta-7.... it has a smaller profile; Forward and side then the JF-2 and its only alittle longer.
... I don't think you read my post carefully enough. ![]()
I support a nerf on the new ships.

lol
I would imagine that some of the attention the Eta-2 is getting is due to the facts it's an Imperial ship and it used to have the word "Jedi" in the name (which is probably part of why the name was changed to its more proper one), but its miniscule size does give it an advantage that's modest in PVE and significant in PVP.
The size advantage does not seem that significant compared to the TIE Interceptor... but then, 2 weapon slots and 90K mass outperform the TIE Interceptor easily, even with the same and not double the agility.
Now something for the "NEVER NERF" crowd: Think it through before crying out. First, if all ships are boosted to the RotW ship level, PvE will become even easier, and the Devs will probably adjust the NPCs to compensate. In effect, making ALL ships relatively weaker. So... you basically call for a nerf of all of us a bit down the road (or to turn PvE even easier than it already is).
That's without going into the netcode limits.
