The only REAL problem with the Actis is that it is only a reward and it bypasses the SW's.

I agree with that. For two reasons. 1, because, as you mentioned, its bad for SW to have the most desired ships not be buildable by them, and 2, that I can't get a new one if my old one gets too badly decayed.
I think its good that there is a quest, and that you can't fly the ship unless you DO the quest, but I think that SW should get quests too for schematics for all these new ships. Not everyone will be able to fly them, because you still need to do the quest to get flagged to fly it. So they wouldn't be any more common than they are now, but it would mean some business for SW down the road when peoples quest rewards get too decayed.
further it would help the economy for them to be craftable by removing another very high cost item should you need to replace it.

Followed by YOU saying, "Are there really pilots this stupid?" Ok so that wasnt very nice, I apologisebut, I was talking about pilots who didnt know that the Awing is less manouverable and carries less firepower than some Imps hips and the Imps have 3 ships that trump it - all they have to do is look at the stickies at the top of the forum for this information
Followed by YOU saying, "there is no effective rebel, imperial or freelancer countermeasure against the JSF except the JSF!" *cough* Grievous *cough* The Greivous quest and ship are bugged currently and need a whole group of heavy templates to complete - the JSF requires you a CL1 and a friend to help thats it. Also introducing a couple of other identically unbalanced ships does not magiaclly balance the game - the same unbalance exists!
That's not what you said. Read your quote again. You said, "no effective... against the JSF except the JSF." Hello? Grievous? Also, I have an uber Krayt on my alt that I'd love to test out with a competant turret gunner against the JSF. It has all four mounts pimped out and I can cut through A-Wings AND B-Wings like buttah.
Followed by YOU saying, "the JSF therefore it is unbalanced. Therefore the game is unbalanced. Therefore the game is broken. Therefore fix it!" DECODED, "Please nerf the JSF". Nope this wasnt encoded - it means what it says - if the game is broken fix it - in this case by balancing it - why is it so bad to want a balanced game fun for everyone?
Everyone? There are plenty of people who like the JSF just the way it is. Do we need to start quoting those as well?
Followed by YOU saying, "I really dont like the idea that if I have superior skill to another pilot he wins 90% of the time because he has a quest reward unavailable to me and iI have no countermeasure in my factions armoury" *cough* Grievous *cough* DECODED, "Please nerf the JSF". For greivous bit see above and once again it wasnt encoded. On the ground they removed the uber loot weapons that ruined PvP in the CU, why then introduce them in space?
Again, that's not what you said. You said that "a quest reward unavailable to me and iI have no countermeasure in my factions armoury"
No, uber weapons on the ground were looted, NOT quested. Meaning some people would win the lottery and get some insane DOT weapon. That's not the case here.
Followed by YOU saying, "I am secure in the knowledge my skills are up to the task of taking on any enemy in any enemy ship whilst I am in any ship, unless of course my enemy flies a JSF, of course! Besides which everyone wants ME to be THEIR wingman. "
DECODED, "Please nerf the JSF". Once again - dont nerf anything - balance them in whatever way is easiest and quickest to do, please devs
Again, not what you said. You said, "unless of course my enemy flies a JSF". No enemies fly Grievous? You keep trying to avoid what you said. If you change your position then change just change it.
Followed by YOU saying (Reply #70)"lets just remove the JSF completely!" That was sarcastic humour, im sorry if you did not get it, but to clarify i like the JSF an think its a cool addition to ships but at the very least it needs to be balanced within the game system and preferably as well made craftable (with lesser stats) by shippys
Aaaaaahgain. That's not what you um... said. You didn't say it was a cool addition but... You said, "lets just remove the JSF completely!"
OMG Yes I agree with the SWs. My alt WAS a SW and I am about to cancel her because of the new ships.
And that's you just getting warmed up. There are 4 more pages of this... You keep coming in misrepresenting what i say so i have to keep explaining myself - hopefully this clears it all up!
I really don't want to keep doing this. But you keep changing your argument. Even when I quote you word for word you try to somehow change what you actually said.
Look, you're obviously passionate about the game and so am I. But you do keep changing your argument. What exactly are you looking for? What EXACTLY would you do?
Here, I'll go first.
1.) Make all future rewards be in the form of schematics that need to be taken to SWs.
2.) Shipwrights then craft the blueprints that need to be taken to the Chassis dealer (remember those?)
3.) Each faction gets a separate quest for the JSF, the Grievous, and the ARC. (man did the privateers get screwed or what? I never even bought RotW for her)
4.) Introduce addtional heavy models such as the heavy A-Wing, Interceptor, etc. to achieve your "balance"

Ooola if you read the Post you might find that it wasn't CuchulainnDarklight who started this post. and personally i think your only spamming this post because your bored and dont have anything important to say. the rest of us are trying to talk about it. you just seem to want to an arguement
Thank you, and where were you yesterday - I didnt see you at the space battle (not that there was many of any faction there), half the rebels after 9 were just my guild (all the rebels made up one squad :smileysad

I really have a problem with the way they handle the new "heavy" ships to be honest. I could understand making heavy versions of current ships, maybe adding another 30% to the overall mass. But when the heavy ships have double, or in the case of the Tier 0 ships, way more than double, the carrying capacity, that just doesn't make any sense?
Heavy ships should have just enough increased mass to put them on par with ships of the level above their original level.
Bits above in red - sorry i didnt reply earlier to your post - ooolas trolling near swallowed it!

The Jedi Fighter is terrible for Corvette runs but great for PVP, the Krayt is great for vette runs but terrible for PVP. Therefore the Jedi Fighter is not strong in every area. The jedi fighter is great for corv runs, it has great speed and manouverability for dodging incoming fire and 2 guns and 1 torp tube, more than enough to quickly take out gun 5 and the shields and engines (faster and safer than any other ship can). If you are not sure how to combat the corvette there are stickies and faqs at the top of the pilot forum that can help you.
Not everyone can get a Jedi Fighter, which I do believe was a major reason this thread was started, unless they leave their faction (unless, obviously, they are imperial to begin with).
I've been around (JTL) since the first stages of beta, haven't trolled the JTL / pilot boards in some months, and this is the EXACT same debate that raged from launch regarding the A-Wing and the fact that neither the Imps nor the Freelancers had a ship that was truly equal to it for PVP. This is completely wrong - ask any good imperial pilot if the Awing is uber and theyll point you to the Advanced with its better manouverability and more guns or the interceptor with its better manouverability or the Oppressor with its deadly 3 missiles. This "the Awing used to be uber" argument is spurious and untrue, if you need further information on ship stats try the stickies at the top of the pilot forum these should help you understand ships and piloting better mate. EDIT: sorry didnt mean you per se just the people who perpetuate this particular lie.
The only REAL problem with the Actis is that it is only a reward and it bypasses the SW's. Sorry, but the JSF is better than ALL other ships when it comes to manouverability, this coupled with its very high mass and high firepower and small profile mean it is unbalanced within the current space balancing system.

Yup thats a major problem too mate see bit in red above
Typical reb always crying!!! All of you want to nerf everything that has an advantage over you. I will make this as simple as I can. I will be looking for you in space, and when I see you I will blast you into the next Galaxie!!! This way you can cry some more.
P.S. Bring a wingman!!!

Another well thought out argument!

Oh please, we have enough posts like this already. If you're just going to categorize everyone in this thread as "whiners" and "nerfers," just do yourself a favor and leave now.

Ooola please stop flaming and trolling in the hopes of getting this thread shut down its against the forum rules.
Disagreeing with you isn't trolling or flaming. Quoting your contradictions in order to clarify what you are saying isn't either.
Just to clarify - the greivous is not an adequate countermeasure to the JSF as adding more unbalanced ships does not magically balance the game - plus the greivous hip and quest are currently bugged and when working require a team of max templated jedi to complete the quest! Every ship in game has to be balanced with each other! Just like the ground game balanced all the weapons and skills - it was called the CU you might have heard of it!
The JSF quest is just as bugged. And I have heard of the CU. It was the result of two years (see date by nameon left)of people asking for nerf after nerf after nerf. We can quote those too if you'd like but I don't think it would help and I don't think it's the real arument here.
I have to say: from point 3 above it is obvious you are unknowledgable on the subject of the new ROTW ships, The ARC170 is not a freelancer reward. Please do not post unsubstantiated claims and try to pass them of as fact!
OMG, that's not what was said. What I'm saying is that the current freelancer reward (not the ARC) is cheese. I won't bother to buy RotW for my alt because of this. Please quit making conclusions about my knowledge if you don't read what I say.
Finally, I do not change my arguements - they still stand!
Um... There is a page worth of quotes where you try to change your arguments. Which ones stand? The original ones that I quotedor the ones where you try to change the original ones? Please clarify.
That is a very underhanded tactic to use to try to win arguments when it is obvious you have no rational points to make yourself.
I don't want to 'win' anything. I'm trying to understand why out ofmore than half a dozen ships recently added to the game you keep asking to nerf and/or remove (as quoted above over and over) one of them?
My argument is very simple - the new ships are not balanced, most regular space players agree with this, therefore they need balanced.
It is easier to balance the 6-7 new ships within the existing system of balance in space than to creat a new system of balance around the new ships and try to change the 30 odd old ships to fit this new system!
This is where I think we have the real issue. The rest is all just nonsense arguments and name calling, etc. When JTL first came out I played with SW on the Blue Frogs. I loved it so much that I got a second account and did the big grind to Master Shipwright. It was fun for a while but then people really quit launching into space. As a MSW I have access to some of the best resources that ever spawned on Corbantis and I still couldn't come even close to stuff that literally fell from space. And oh yeah did I mention it was FREE?
I thought about cancelling my SW completely when I saw the new RotWships. I spent weeks organizing and collecting/buying new resources. Setting up vendors in our mall, etc. Only to find that the new ships were quested and not crafted! Yes, I agree nerfi... excuse me, "balancing" the new ships would be the easiest solution. You have no argument from me there.
My problem is that it's the wrong solution. I would support that solution if they made SW 0 skill points but that's not going to happen. That's why I would like to see the new ships be crafted AND have mods/upgrades for the old ships to balance against them. That way we can keep an entire other community of SWs in business and achieve some sense of balance.
An alternative solution would be to... sit down... are you sitting?... 'balance' the JSF and Grievious against the A-Wing IF and only IF the mass on CRAFTED components came down to 'balance' this change. Right now most people are using looted/re'd/FREE components in thier A-Wings, Interceptors, Advanced, etc. If as a SW I could craft stuff that you would actually use instead of RE'ing stuff for FREE then there would be no problem with a 65K JSF.
Either the other smaller ships (A-Wing, Interceptor, etc.) need to have mods to bring them up to 90K like the JSF or the CRAFTED components need to come down inmass so that 65K fighters can compete without using REd (FREE) components.
If you disagree then fine butplease tell me that's NOT flaming/trolling.
