One thing I noticed that was fixed, at realease of JTL, on the Tatooine destroy mission (the one you can do over and over in Bestine) there used to be a 1250 XP tier 3 ship that would spawn on the command wave (Very hard for a starter tier 1 ship to take out). Now its a 400XP tier 2 ship.....so I know the dev's can fix this.....Im starting to think all 5 parts of this mission are supposed to have tier 3 ships, the first four parts of this mission do. All of the 1-1-1-1 missions had tier 1 or 2 ships, and the 2-2-2-2 missions had tier 2 ans 3 ships.... tier 4 and 5 at this point is a bit much for a tier 2 ship to handle. I hope this resolved soon, if at all
Tier 3 and above missions require that people help each other. You can't do that mission by yourself. A minimum of three people are required for the first tier 3 imperial mission. 2 on the bombers at all times, the other keeping fighters busy. I strongly suggest you kill stuff til you loot an engine that you are qualified on, which has at least a 65 base engine speed. you'll need it for the a-wings. With them you either need high speed, or high pitch, yaw. Both would be ideal. Then get sheilds that are at least 800. I simply killed stuff until I got components which enabled an intermediate that rivaled some of the interceptors.
We did 2 simultaneous tier 3 #1's with 5 pilots, one of which had a tie interceptor. I don't recommend this. I *barely* finished the mission. disabled at 700m from station with eject light on. I should not have finished that mission. I have a golden horseshoe up my wazoo. 4 pilots on 1 mission would be a lot more comfortable, 3 if all of you have exceptional looted components.
I would start a thread suggesting that people join you and you agree to help each other through your missions. You can depend on them helping you if you help them, because they'll need you again for the next mission. that's why all tier 3 and above require multiple players, to kind of force people not to screw each other over.
Another alternative is to join a guild and get help from your guild mates. Don't expect everyone in the guild to happily jump into your mission the minute you log on. Everyone is always running missions. You need to be patient, and wait your turn.
Also if people tell you they are exhausted from flying all day, don't force the issue. One errant pull of the trigger can blow 1.5 hours worth of work, if someone blows up something that is supposed to be disabled near the end of a long mission. If someone has been helping a lot of people run their missions for 18 hours and tells you they'll help tomorrow, don't cry about it and guilt trip them into it by trying to run the mission solo, and being very vocal about the fact, it will only cause disappointment and anger when they screw up your mission because they are exhausted.
These are just some tips and strategies that help me get my missions done. Help profusely, stay positive, and people will help you. If you are on Chilastra, I'll help you. Send a tell to Viza. With me and one other person, you should be able to do it. I'll expect help on my next mission, when we are done, so schedule out a 4-5 hour block of time for all three of us to run a mission each ; )...
Get a copy of teamspeak client and a microphone. Its free, google it. It's essential for teamwork. I am on a server with a public channel and will get permission for us to use it. I don't type in space combat. It'll get you killed.
thx,

1) Target lead is too far off to be worth anything...many other space sims have it done right...fix this one.
2) Enemy AI is stupid. I am a Reb and fighting Ties ends up as the 2 of us just looping around in a circle at Tier 1 and 2. Then at Tier 3, they just out run me and spin back and we go head to head...pass and keep doing it again and again. It is just dumb.
-- Now you know how us imps feel about a-wings LOL. However, the AI is getting better daily. That's the classic dogfight. The trick is getting an advantage somehow. If you power out of that situation you get far enough away so you have enough time to turn and at least get a couple of seconds to out aim your opponent. I have often gotten advantage by very strategic use of the booster. You only gain an inch at a time, so it's a little like chess, at very high speed. When you lose the advantage and need to start over, it really hurts.
3) Everything is too slow...I guess I really just want X vs. Tie again, but it is not even close to that.
-- Lag seems to be proportional to the number of players and the amount of particle effects in the area, just like the ground game. I think this has to do with the fact that cards powerful enough to display this game, in all it's glory, simply don't exist yet.
4) Please...Please have some storage space in my ship. Even is it takes up some mass to add. I cannot stand that my regular inventory fills up with space loot.
--Yeah devs! I think you should be able to store at least a backpack on the ship. I agree 100%. You should at least be given the opportunity to delete something when your inventory is full and retry the loot operation, like the ground game.
5) Missions spawning too close to others doing the same mission. Their fighters sometimes end up mixed with mine and when I cycle through my targets, I cannot tell whose is whose.
6) If I cannot attack it, please do not include it when I cycle through enemy targets. It is so annoying that something can shoot at me, but I cannot kill it.
7) Maybe give us a separate key to cycle through attackable enemies.
8) Radar = useless and horrible. Need a forward and back radar ala XvT.
-- I have to disagree with this. I think the radar rocks. I rely heavily on this in combat. Devs DONT CHANGE THE RADAR! two radars front and back is two dimensional. what about the sides? The radar we have is more useful in a 3d environment.
9) Please change the bracket color for the ship that I have targeted. When 3 Ties spawn for one of my missions, they all have red brackets...that's ok. Then I go to target them and the only change is that little red, barely visible life/shield bar thing. Just change the braket color to gold or something so I know which one I have targeted.
10) Go back and play XvT or X-Wing: Alliance...then make this game exactly like them...they were great games.
11) I hate having to land all the time to go get missions. There should be certain mission types available in space...through comm link or space station. Just don't always make me land to get another.
12) Map (N key) stinks...I cannot even figure out what I am looking at in there.
--it's a 3d environment, a 2d map simply won't work.
13) Autopilot...what is the point of this? I engage it and tell it to take me to a waypoint (station) and it sets me on course that is not towards the station.
--Yeah! what's up with this?
14) After logging in today, my ground chat windows are the same as my space chat windows. For example, I lost my combat tab on the ground, but I now have a quest tab. I also lost my IM tab.
That is all that I can think of right now, but I know that I have some more.
I'd like to add that about 20% of the time, when I land at a starport, the space port is not there. I can see a starship, and the ticket taker, but the starport is gone. What's really lame, is that on the ground, I am all crafter and merchant. If there are enemy faction npc's in the area, they can now see me through the area where the building belongs, and kill me. This, in a word, is very raw.
I have to log out of the game, restart it, log in, and the starport is there again.
the /tt command doesnt work in space.
