Thread: New Ship Stats
(Tier 4) A-Wing: ~65k mass [SP: 1 Guns] 1 missile
[Spdx 1.0 Acc 40 Dec 60 Pitch 250 Yaw 250 Roll 125]
(Tier 4) TIE-Advanced: ~65k mass [SP: 2 Guns] 1 missile
[Spdx 1.0 Acc 40 Dec 60 Pitch 300 Yaw 300 Roll 150]
Here we can see that balanced existed prior-rotw. I dont know where all those complaints about the a-wing being overpowered come from, but i never had a problem tailing them on my advanced.
Now, taking in consideration that both factions can pilot the JSF, we are not talking about faction unbalanced, but about ships unbalances.
How am i suppose to deal with this stats using my tie advanced (oran a-wing for rebels)?
(Tier 4) Eta-2 Actis Interceptor (Jedi Starfighter): 90k mass [SP: 2 Guns] 1 missile
[Spdx 0.95 Acc 50 Dec 50 Pitch 600 Yaw 600 Roll 300]
(Tier 0) Heavy Z-95: ~95k mass [SP: 1 Gun] 1 missile
[Spdx 0.95 Acc 50 Dec 50 Pitch 600 Yaw 600 Roll 300]
(Tier 0) Heavy Scyk: 50k Resources ~95k mass [SP: 1 Gun] 1 missile
[Spdx 0.95 Acc 50 Dec 50 Pitch 600 Yaw 600 Roll 300]
(Tier 0) Heavy TIE/Ln: 50k Resources ~95k mass [SP: 1 Gun] 1 missile
[Spdx 0.95 Acc 50 Dec 50 Pitch 600 Yaw 600 Roll 300]
This ships have twice the Y/P/R of an a-wing or a tie-advanced,the JSF is evensmaller, and it has more mass... I mean... c'mon... this has to be a mistake ![]()
I know that the corris quite busy and i dont want to abuse, but could we have at least a word about what the devs say? Are they working on this issue? Are this stats suppose to stay?
I feel very sorry about my ships, because if i want to be competitive in DS again I will have to pilotone of this new ships ![]()
PleaseTomo, any official word on this issue willbe most appreciated. Grab some dev and bring him/her here! ![]()
Thanks in advance
Edit: Oh, and btw, by this time you should have notify that I'm an Imperial Pilot... not a rebel crying for a nerf... as the post above this said, i'm just calling for balance.

However, since I really have nothing new to report to them on that front and have mostly just been repeating myself the last week or two, I've been putting more emphasis on ship balance now and am working on something that'll surely end up looking like the manifesto of a guy who mails bomb droids to people from his filthy small Tatooine house.
I do think it's possible we'll see some sort of balance pass on these ships, though. Many of them weren't available until literally the last day or two of beta, and while I was able to bring up some of my concerns on them then, we never really had a significant discussion on what they meant for JTL. So we'll see.

I'm trying to see if I can get DP to talk to me about how the new ships are supposed to fit in with the old ones, actually, but I hadn't made a lot of noise on it till recently because I was trying to keep the focus on getting rid of the crippling bugs first (particularly the one that's preventing people from getting many of the quest ships).

Thanks and keep up the good work (or just keep shouting at them, whatever works)- but i do have to point out the bit in red above!

Could you please explain where you find these stats, or how they are calculated, whatever the case may be?
If you are talkingabout the stats that i posted they came from the Pilot FAQ on this Forums. How are they calculated... i dunno

Yes, the stats taht you posted (with all the fancy colors). I would very much like to know how these are calculated.
As far as PYR accel stats go, you used to be able to see the chassis' stats displayed on the engine when you loaded them into a ship, so there was no calculation involved. These days, you just have to compare the accel numbers in the "v" screen in space to known accel numbers, then translate them. So a TIE Advanced's PYR accel, in the v screen, will appear to be 5.2/5.2/2.6; the Eta-2, as it turns out, has a 10.4/10.4/5.2 rating, which is simply double the Advanced's PYR accel. Double the Advanced's known PYR--300/300/150--and you end up with 600/600/300.
That's how I calculate this stuff, anyway.
By the way, I've got no idea how to figure out the speed acceleration or deceleration anymore. That used to be shown on the engine, too. I suppose you could do a rough estimation, but I can't think of any way to make an exact calculation of it.

A ship's speed modifier uses a simple calculation: (top speed/10)/engine speed = chassis speed mod. Any variation of that should work.

Did you check with Devs why the V-screen shows engine speed (above the PYR chassis parameters) but not the resulting number (engine chassis multiplier * engine speed)?
