Thread: New changes

Then the timing of the announcement - One day after the launch of Trials. They made sure that they got everyone's money before they told them that their game was being canceled in favor of a new game with the same name. For the CH's that bought Trials (not me, thankfully) this is an out-and-out bait and switch. It borders on fraud.
Oh, I think we're past "bordering" on Fraud.... saying "there will be content for entertainers in the new expansion" bordered on it. What they did to CHs and the timing of this releas WAS fraud.

So... I have a set of RIS, a set of BH armor, some very nice weapons that were made specifically so that I could use them with a low CL/low carbine level...
And I love dancing in padded armor.
I will be able to do none of this if I choose entertainer? Not even wear my RIS any more at all?

Eshie, level with me: what are the chances of them relenting on the one-per-server issue?
That is my only serious issue with this whole thing. Frankly I think the new combat style sounds like fun, as does the quest leveling. But I'm seriously hung up on the character issue.
Ok..going out on a limb here so I want you guys to all take this as my speculation only and with an adequate dose of salt. I'm not basing this on anything that anyone has told me but on my own personal experience working in gaming. I think there are two issues with the more-than-one-char-per-server question.
1) is the Jedi factor..there is this whole huge group of players who have worked incredibly hard to achieve Jedi. They are losing their alpha class status. About the only remaining reward for thier hard work is that extra slot they've opened.
2) is the database factor..I can't ever find the words to express how amazingly complex the database is in this game. Not only is it unlike anything I've seen in any other game..it has grown proportionally with the game's age (expected in a 2.5 year old game).
(again..my crystal ball is sucky so this is Not a prediction)
I could see where it would be possible, after a good cleanup of dead accounts from the database, to allow for additional characters per server/acct. Challenges regarding the viability of a crafter based economy would need to be addressed in this case.
As for the Jedi factor..who knows..maybe this will heal with time.
So yeah, Fusch..it could happen. I don't see itbeing possibleunder current conditions and circumstances..at least not in the immediate future. But I could be wrong..god knows I have been before.
I hope I've included enough weasel words here for us all to keep perspective on what I'm saying.

I don't have an answer on this yet. I expect we will have more respec details as it gets closer to Live. Respec'ing is already on my list of things to test, although it might be one of the last items I get a chance to poke at.

Very importantly for all hybrids:
If we choose Ent instead of our combat side, will we have all the new Entertainer skills at once?
Or will we count as only partial masters at the new profession?
I should like an answer before Live so I can use my current token respec to go GrandMaster beforehand if needed.
I'm sorry if this was answered elsewhere...
So how will the abscence of macros affect creating routines, songs, and band performances?

I got this from Igie, the Brawler Corr who has been so graciously answering questions in this thread:

You didn't happen to catch how the dance/musician mechanics work now, did you? Is anything significantly different other than no macros? I heard there were also not hot keys. I don't want to have to stop a routine because I'm typing, but I like the possible ATK promotion.
"Yea, no hot-keys. That is a problem for ATK and typing for social. I am not sure, but I think you can still macro a rotuine to the right button (wow I forgot to try doing that). It would not be recursive, but you could set a large amount of commands into 1 macro and start it and be able to type. You would just have to restart it every time it stopped."
