Thread: New changes

Anotherfew questions now that I read about the testing of entertainer in Austin....
Are the hotkey tool bars completely going away? So that in order to change props I have to open my inventory each time rather than simply click the hotkey? Not to mention costume changes...
Will macros (the ones using /macro) still function for routines, songs, effects, etc... ?
Also, does /target <character name> no longer work to inspire someone? Is it all done via the reticle? If so, is the reticle always visible regardless of what's going on? (e.g. spammy light effects from entertainers or Jedi)

I'm right there with you big guy! I think tonight I'm going to use my token respec (yes..stil have it) and go complete combat. See if I like it. If not...then I don't see a reason to stay with SWG. Complete Entertainer I know would not keep my interest for two more years.
I have tried all the double elite combat profs I care to try. Recently I was back to Carbineer|Dancer and had returned to the cantinas. There were a few hardcore roleplayers trying to hang on and the rest were AFK masters or those grinding the prof AFK for some reason. It was so very dead. I had actually uninstalled and cancelled because I am simply not interested in running around squashing things anymore. The social scene was near dead and exploring|travelling as a non double elite was very deadly and annoying to boot.
These changes are drastic and I am not sure what to think. I like the idea about entertainers not drawing aggro. I am hoping there will be more meaning to being something besides a double elite combat character or Jedi. We will see.
Maybe this will help both Smugglers and Entertainer profs. We certainly need it. So if this does do something for the entertaining profs and characters outside of combat, I may just stick around, otherwise probably not. Sick and tired of combat and am not remotely interested in Jedi.
Suppose I will wait and see.

I also don't want to play a FPS. If I wanted to do that, I'd be playing Half-Life with my friends.
The uniqueness of SWG's setup has always been its biggest draw. I do NOT appreciate having my choices made for me.
I LIKED being a dancer/tailor. Now I'm being forced to choose between the two, and not only does it damage my character's story, it just plain pisses me off.
I have to go to bed before I make some seriously negative comments.
I've stuck with this game through a lot for the last two and a half years. For what? A complete upheaval of everything I love about SWG.
I cannot be happy about that.

Will all skill boxes in the new professions be able to be active at the same time?
I'm not sure what you mean by "active at the same time". Please elaborate.
Ok right now you can be a Smuggler/ Dancer/ Novice Carbine or maybe a ID/ Musician/ Dancer; you know a template mix. No two dancers are likely to have the same abailities when viewed as a total character.
So, when everybody becomes an Entertainer- Does that mean you can do everything an entertainer can do, or will there be a mix?
Example:
I can be an Entertainer that all the dances and does all theID but if I do that there isn't enough skill points left over for me to be a lot ofMuscian as well.
or
I can be an Entertainer that does a few dances, a bit of music, and a bit of ID but I don't have enough skill points to do all dances, all music, and all image design.
I guess I am trying to ask if the new system will force characters to choose what all in the profession they can do/specialize in? Or will it be that a top level character can do every single thing in that profession (which is how it is now for a master of a profession)
I must stop now, I think I am confusing myself.
