Silver, I spend alot of time in Fort Tusken. The typical group is about 10-12. There are usually 2 TKA's 2 medics and the rest ranged.

If I opened my attack with Spin or Area, I'd be dead in 2-3 seconds. If I open with Area Sweep, then it allows the people to start targeting diff mobs, I can area twice before I only have 2-3 raiders attacking me. I then swicth to Area attack2, then once the raiders start to thin out I can Leghit2 or Polehit2. People in general were happy to see me at the Fort since I could hold a room together that could get out of control for the group. We Pikemans were a profession that had Crowd Control. Now we don't

I died last night 4 times in 3 hours. Granted its a 20 minute run to the Fort from Espa, I only got about 40 careful minutes actually in the dungeon. I then switched to missions to see if I could re-learn how to fight. I couldnt even kill the mobs on my missions. I geared my character for fighting, last nights patched destroyed all of my "work". I am very angry as well as let down.

You apparently think that the nerf is no big deal. If this is the case I really thik we need Correspondent that is in tune with the general Pikeman population. This is nothing personal but after reading your posts I have lost confidence in your capacity to represent me.

Oh yeah, the reason we used KD alot was so we could step up to a tough Mob and live through it. Basic reasons like that.

PS The funniest comment in my Tusken group last night came from a ranged guy. He said;

"Hey guys, The KD only affects one person at a time. You can just alternate it."

I wanted to beat the guy senseless with my LVA.

I meant Leghit3 in upper post. 0432 (almost 0443). Basically I'm high enough on the ladder to feel like im Apprentice again. Its all the wasted work that is pissing me off. Unless they fix this, I'm done with Pikeman and will join the Flavor of the Month Fighting Proffession or just look for a new game.

Well put Kapu....when is Worlds of WarCraft coming out? I sure as heck am not going torenewSWG after all this crap! I'm the laughing stock of my guild. I'm practiacally a master Pikeman and my guildmates are asking if I can pull out my CDEF Pistol to contribute in someway. I just don't understand. F#@& U SWG! This is the worst balancing system ofclasses I've ever seen. I just can't believe you guys did such a great job with EQ, and you're making a mockery of the Starwars classic. I hardly ever complain, but this last patch totally blasted pikemen in the cornhole. ---Bohunker

Ok heres the beef in order:

1. The KD Timer - **edit**, whos idea was this. I can now solo a womp rat, yaaaay. I used to be able to fight greater womp rats and bull ronto and such by myself but not now, oh no not now, now i get to fight kreetles and commoners and such. WHAT FUN!!!

2. Accuracy - Whiff, whiff, whiff, whiff, thud. Do you know what that sound is? Why its me hitting the floor and dying. Why? Because the Long Vibro Axe that im using couldnt hit water ifit fell out of a boat thats why. Maybe I'll use a toothpick and call myself a pickman perhaps I might be able to hit something with that.

3. PvP - Huff puff huff puff thud. More sounds for you folk. Can anyone guess this one? Thats right kiddies once again its me chasing after another ranged opponent and dying because I can't seem to catch up to the kiting devil. Well then I must go and buy myself a little gun to defend myself, just like the devs want me to.

4. 5 second KD delay - LOOK ALL at my handywork. I have knocked down the foe. Now just to be fair I am going to wait for him to rise before I further beat upon him lest anyone think I am other than a gentleman.

5. Special Move Animations - No I am not Debbie Allen and this is not dance fever. I am trying to execute special moves but they take several seconds to complete. Why do they not seem to have any effect you ask? Please refer to item #2.

ARE THE DEVS GOING TO GIVE US ANY RESPONSE OR RECOURSE TO THESE REPEATED ISSUES?? HOW MANY MUST COMPLAIN??

the thing is that on test center there are only 2 pikemen that i know of and i am one of them and right now i am jsut a bsic novice pikemen and so is the other guy i belive so no one has even tested polarm knockdown or any of the higher end moves the 1st skill i am going to get is sweep becuase knockdown seems to get changed alot so i can test it i belive that i will proly get it today but i could be wrong

Well, I am definitely not pleased. I am almost a Master Pikeman.. Well, was. I am about ready to scrap the entire profession. I am sick of how badly my character has been gimped. Before the patch, I actually had a chance in a fight.. Now? Hah, don't get me started. I guess I was expecting it, but hoping it wouldn't happen. Now that it did.. I'm thinking about quitting altogether. Not only did they gimp melees severely, but they upped ranged damage. A fricking Light Lightning Cannon with 330-780 damage and 4.5 speed? And yet people have the audacity of griping because of our knockdowns? Give me a break. /sigh

Seriously, I'm either getting rid of Pikeman, or quitting the game.. This is too much.

Since I don't grind out exp like you guys, I just played casually. I didn't go for just kd, then just try and take down every tough guy I could find. I never really fought in fort tuskan, I always found it to be too easy (of course that was before they added the new tougher guys, and when it was swarming with CH and Marksmen. btw is it still like that?). I would solo a lot, messing around on lok, exploring the game and such, and I still made master pretty quick.

I believe that the DEVs wanted to make it harder for people to level up in their classes by making it so one could not just keep kd spammed on an opponent that was probably too tough for them normally. Also, I believe a lot of people were complaining on how they didn't want to just lay down and take our hits, hehe...

I have a few questions for you, BoneFrag.

Are you a master? If so, what was the main way you gained exp to get there, and how long did it take?

If you are not a master, why would you ever area attack tuskans?

I never said that you should area attack a tuskan, that is pretty much suicide, even for a master(though I haven't tried, so I could be wrong). I was speeking of lesser creatures then that like from banthas up to almost tuskans. Those I can usually solo in herds. And you get some decent exp, not to mention tons of hide/bone/meat/loot for killing multiple opponents.

Have you read the last message I wrote to SOE? Cause if you did, it would tell you that I had chosen to step down from my position, and am just awaiting SOE's reply. Though I am sorry you have "lost confidence in your capacity to represent me," I do not represent you, I represent everyone on this board, and as machus0 has pointed out, my oppinions do not matter because I do not add them into the message, I am unbaised when it comes to writing, but I am allowed to voice my oppinion right?

------> X-SilverSurfer <------ What can I say? I believe you are unable to represent the pikeman class. Obviously you do not play the Pikeman class as the vast majority do. We play Pikeman because we want to be a "PURE MELEE" class. I'd say the vast majority of us don't want to be pikemen/CREATUREHANDLERS or Pikeman/MARKSMAN. We want to be pure melee. If you can't represent the majority of us, you need to step down as our representative! We don't want to here the BS answer of shot them with a blaster until they get close and then whip out your pike. That's pure BS! We want a level playing field. You don't play a Pikeman or you'd see the obvious faults in everything the Dev's just did to us. Can I nominate someone more qualified (such as Aarano) that posted a much more reasonable response to represent the Pikemen???????? ------Bohunker

I love the new patch so much, I'm switching to the commando profession! That was the goal of the patch, right?

Well X_SilverSurfer I guess i only have one question for you;

If you only play casually and dont grind xp like the rest of us, why the F___ are you our pikeman correspondent? Shouldn't the person in this position be an actual full-time player who DOES go around looking for big game and DOES actually use moves like sweep to fight said big game?

Im not a Master. Im 0432 and was on the verge (few hours) from 0443. I've been playin off and on since the game was released(first month was nightmare since my char wouldget stuck on server and couldnt log in).

Since getting novice, I've spent most of my time at the Fort Tusken. The area sweep is the holy grail of moves there. Cant tell you how many times it saved the groups from annihilation. Of course it caused the room to agg me, but with a medic on hand to heal as well as a few other people around to provide damage as well as pull agg off me, I could live 9 times out of 10. The area sweeps were beautiful against commoners, raiders, snipers etc. Unless the odds were with us, I wouldn't even think of an area attack with multiple Warlords and Chiefs. My last couple trips there post nerf were embarrasing. The whole evening was miserable. My combat effectiveness there at the fort easily dropped 60-70%. Without sweep, all my area attacks were suicide, and the role of the crowd controlling tank vanished into thin air. I felt like a gimpedrifleman except I needed to be point blank. In summary ALL area attacks useless, Absolutelyno means of defense.

As for lesser creatures, they arent worth the time to kill since XP is on the order of a few hundred once you start approaching the end of the Pike chain.

Anyway, the KD nerf really sucks. I'm currently on hold until this is fixed.
