-.- well while were flaming i'll point out a few things that are not in game, lets take stress for example, lets say i mastered pikeman a month after the game came out, ive been forgotten about for 5 months, no im keeping it cool, then someone comes in and tells me im wrong and that i dont suck and that i dont need help, there goes my work, were trying to get the devs to at least acknowledge we exist, if you take a look we are the worst class, and were a combat class so this is really sad, (btw pardon the errors and such, i honestly dont care anymore) if the devs would at least give us our own update, and i dont mean accross the board updates, maybe we would be happy, try being a pikeman before u tell us to stop asking the devs for attention, i got my hands on a holocron recently, im supposed to master swordsman, im doing more damage than i would as a pike, and i have tier 1 of pike and when i did the comparison i only had tier 3 brawler, and my weapon wasnt super sliced or anything, if you would just shut your yap and go away maybe our stress will be reduced, we really dont need people questioning our research, especially after less than a weeks worth of experience, if u hit 2 weeks then u may be allowed to have your say, until then only ask, dont tell, got it? now if u dont mind i gotta go get my ass kicked by a womp rat again, ciao

You contradict yourself. First you say you don't need people questioning your research, then you say I should only ask and not tell. If somebody wants to ask something, they usually phrase it in the form of a question.

I sympathize with the typical Pikeman who has only been trying to get their profession-related problems noticed and addressed. The more I become familiar with the situation, the more sympathy I have. All I can say is there is no hope if the Correspondentacts in this manner to anyone attempting to understand. Reason being is he is setting an example that all of hisP.A.L.s are going to follow.

What many of you new to the pikemen class fail to realize is that we NEED a correspondant who doesn't take S--- from anyone. It's the only way we're possibly going to get the attention we need.

Let me put it this way to those who haven't read up on the other threads that drill into far deeper detail of the issues than this one, which was intended as a summary thread.

1) We do the least damage of any combat class

2) We have the worst defenses of any melee class

3) Our moves have the highest HAM costs of any combat class, compounding our damage output problems and defense problems (high HAM = disincentive to wear armor).

These are facts. Feel free to search the more statistically oriented threads for demonstrations, evidence, argument, analysis, and statistics.

And in the mean time, try not to be surprised when our correspondant acts like someone with his back up against the wall.

lol the devs think were stupid, no seriously, they give us more block which they think will make us happy when im fairly sure they know block doesnt even work, the only thing we got out of this patch was 20 accuracy, while everyone else got speed accuracy and the like, im honestly starting to the that the devs hate ME personally -.- whatd i do to them?

0.31% Novice Image Designer
0.30% Novice Chef
0.25% Novice Pikeman?

I think that says it all. It dissapoints me that, as is usual for game companies, instead of making the suffering classes more appealing by fixing what is so obviously wrong with them, they skip it and work on the most popular classes first so their changes reach the most players. Maybe, just maybe, someone bored with their Smuggler/Pistoleer/CH template that 40% of the players use will want to look for another profession, and maybe, just maybe, SOE, they won't find an alternative to doing what they've been doing. Maybe, just maybe, they'll quit the game for greener pastures. I mean, not even FunCom screws professions this badly.

Until this month, I had been sticking to my polearms in the hope that we would get something spiffy with mounts, seeing as we use freaking polearms and all. Nope. Didn't even get a bone thrown our way. Haven't heard the devs mention anything about us. Granted, they have a lot of other problems to fix, but there are some things that are so obviously out of whack with us that can't take more than a weekend of coding to fix (see: toughness, HAM cost/accuracy issues). We aren't asking for a lot here. We'll always be inferior to ranged weapons users, and that's OK, we accept that when we took up the pike. But this is seriously ridiculous.

Thank you for this kick arse post opeth!! My god I thought i was the only pikeman suffering in the entire galaxy! I just recently gave up three blocks of pikeman to complete TKA. I cannot even begin to explain the difference between the two professions. I am a much more efficient novice TKA, than i was at a mastery level with pikeman. SOL has forced me to bandwagon! The last thing I wanted to do was go TKA. Seems likeevery tird with the kahonesnot to wield afirearm is aTKA. I simply got sick of getting dropped by every 13yr old punk with KD and unarmed hit 3!!In my experience with master pikeman, I have NEVER won a duel, or a pvp situation against a TKA. I cant sayI have fought many fencers or swordsman to see howI would h measure up, but i think itshorrible that any melee proffesion should simply dominate another!I understand turnbased strategy, and special moves, play a part but come on!! I have a bud who is a TKA Master, at master level we dueled no specials just attacks. I was using my best sliced vibro axe 499 max damage speed 3.3, and using specials and he still dropped me just with his basic attacks! Pikeman got the royal SOL middle finger!!

I've dueld a few guildmates and some random people I've met, most wanted to see what a master pikeman could do. It's actually a relief to hear that someone else loses all the time. I've never been a pvp'er at heart nd figured I was just missing something tactic-wise. But they head hit me to death Or else knock me down with a dizzy before I can get a hit in. I do decently PvE, but at this point if anyone asks me to duel I just say "I'm a pikeman" and they usually say "oh," and wander off.

I felt compelled to come and pay you honorable Pikeman a visit.

I want to represent the Fencer community here by extending to you our best hopes for the Pikeman class to get these issues resolved quickly, and to your complete satisfaction. We have been on opposite ends of the same boat for much of the game. You fellas are capable ofdevastating hits, but can't hit the planet if you dropped your vibro-lance. We rarelymiss, but our hits tickle and the speed cap prevents us from using more than 2/3rds of our primary skill mod even with our slowest weapon. We can empathize with your frustration, and you have our complete support.

On the uphand, you have one the THE best Correspondents working for you. OpethRebel tirelessly hunts down the Devs to honorably, professionally, and wisely plead your case. He is a supurb communicator on the Correspondent Board, and is representive of the high calibre people that have stuck to their guns in this profession. My hat is off to you, Opeth. If you ever need my help in testing something on TC, just PM me.

Once again, good luck to you in your profession!

Thank you for the support, we're all melee brethren around here and we support you as well. Glad to see you guys get some good defenses in addition to CoB.

I agree with your post, Opeth. It's very well constructed and very nicely summerized. I feel the same way about Pikeman. But I would never leave this profession. Screw pistols! I'd rather poke things hehe. It's very irritating though about missing alot and such. Hopefully they will fix us soon. As we deserve lots of love from the devs.

I actually miss Pikeman right now because I've been having the Crash to Desktop bug since yesterday and have had nothing to do. So hopefully they'll fix that too SOON.

Come on Devs! Give the Pikeman some love and get off your butts and fix the game...

I feel for ya'll...I really do.

Trust me, I'm a Carabineer...your fellow broken combat class with insane HAM requirements. Who'd have known pulling a trigger once would cost 200 action?
