Legwand, I've stated it as a defense move before but what I mean when I say that is the class is defensive in nature by the styles where as tka is defensive by toughness and melee defense mods. Using sweep as a main attack is perfectly understandable as we didn't and still don't have the stats to take damage.

Point beeing, sweep as you wish, but not now, grats whoever let this pas TC. When I do sweep now I notice I'm on the same combat pause timer, which is total crap.

I don't know what, but just reading through these posts makes me want to laugh for some reason or another (though I often laugh seemingly for no reason now and then).Ultimately, though, this problem leads to one thing... I'll give you an example:

I double-clicked on the SWG icon on my desktop;the launchpad loads, I press "accept", type my password, read the recent updates as the launchpad loads them and then press play. I see the "SOE" logo, the "Lucasarts" logo, and then the "SWG" logo and then press esc so it'll go straight to the player selection screen. It shows my hansome character ;P on the screen as I click next and then finally I load into the game. I had loaded near the cloning center in Mos Espa as where I had previously left off and now comes the important part: I didn't feel compelled to play... not even a little. In fact I wanted to turn the game off.

Now I've never felt this way about anything I even used to like half as much as SWG (well, "never" is a strong word... lets just say I've never felt this way towards SWG and not "anything I even used to like half as much"). That just scares me... now I still want to like the pikeman profession but it just isn't so much appealing to me as it once did... and don't tell me to switch professions. I picked this one because it looks cool and it was able to control groups (though the latter part probably didn't come till I got to novice pikeman and gave a really good look at what skills I should be considering so the last part is more of a reason of why I like pikeman now...). Now I am left with, "because it looks cool." None of the other professions truly appeal to me the way pikeman did and if pikeman is this bad now, I could never truly enjoy another profession then... ranged weapons really never appealed to me (though I wanted them in the game cause I like to see it in use... I just don't like to use them) and tka was overused and fencer and swordsman just wasn't as cool.

I don't agree with Silvers opinion on this whole KD issue, but I do think that the guys who are blasting him right now is being unfair. Because his opinion is just only that, HIS opininoin. He has stated numerous times that what he reads from us on the message boards is what he wiillactually send in on his report, which means in that respect he is not letting us down as far as his job discription is concerned.

This forum is about a being a place where we can express our opinions, and he has that right also. Now if it came down to where he would only send in just HIS opinoin in on his report that is supposed to be representing us all, then we would have a problem and I would be able to say that he is not doing his job as our representative.

For what it's worth Silver I believe you have done a more than decent job as correspondent and this is the first time that I've read your post on an issue that I totally disagreed with, but I understand that that's just how you feel about the subject and you are entitled to it. Just so long as if you are still our correspondent when the nest letter is sent in and you still present all of our concerns, I will still think that you are an excellent correspondent.

Well, looks liek I have become Public enemy number One in most people's books... heh, thanks to those that support me even though they don't support my oppinion, which is just that, an oppinion.

I will try to keep this short so that people can read all of my post, and not miss some of the details... jk on the whole people not reading all the post stuff, I know you guys just hate me

I think all of you make good points, Especially the modem analogy, lol, if I didn't have my cable modem, I would raise hell! hah. Well, it seems that from most of you that I do not understand the roles of being a novice anymore, so I am going to surrender the skill tree back to novice, and start over. I hope that makes you happy. Also, is that biased? I hope not.

I like your enthusiasm, sliversurfer, for trying to get a look from our perspective (but I don't need or want you to sacrifice your skills just to see it from our point of view). I have no problem with how you are doing your job. It's the devs who screwed up. But since you are the only solid figure between us and the devs some people are going to flame on you.

wow...I can't even imagine doing that.

Just so you know, I don't regard you as Public Enemy Number 1. Sadly, you became the whipping boy for all things wrong in the SWG, even those things not connected to Pikemen.

Good luck in your new pikeman quest. Hopefully there is still someone around who can train the skills as you progress. It wouldn't suprise me if they nerfed the Pikeman Trainers as well.

If they nerf the pikeman trainers then screw it! I quit. I haven't met, though I'm sure there are, any pikeman with more skill boxes then me on the intrepid server. If they nerfed the trainers it'll be pretty hard to find someone to train me... but then I spend most of my time at fort tusken so what do I know? lol

Anyways, I doubt the devs would ever intentionally nerf any trainer unless their true goal it to eliminate the brawler class .

When I went up the first time, there was literally no one to train me. I had to go to the trainer for every skill, but tried to help all the pikeman I saw with their skills. Hopefully they feel the same way about training... heh, I think I'll be screwed ifthey don't...

It's great that you are getting a good look from our perspective but it may all be in vain. If the devs don't listen to us about the kd timer all you gain is a little bit of enlightenment and be able to sympathize with us better;and unfortunately that isn't much help in fixing the profession. I have to thank you for your concern for us lower pikeman, though.

Sooooo...ummmm...hows it going Mr. X_SilverSurfer? By that, I mean how's the lvling going? Are you a MasterPikeman yet? Or are you like the rest of us, just being passed over for groups because we are totally worthless? Are you trying to kill any White Splashes Solo? Or are you having to resort to whipping out the old firearm or pet like so many of us? I hear ya man, I've seriously thought about quiting too. Not to be vindictive or spitefull or any childlike reason like that, but simply because I'm not having as much fun as I used to. You ever been depressed in your life at one point or another where you feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel, and you have that hopeless "what's the use?" feeling? Well, tha'ts how I feel when I log into the game.

The only thing that has kept me in thus far since the Nerf is that several of my friends are in the game and we have been discussing our mutual dislike of the latest patch in game, Ironically, they are only staying on for the same reason.

But how long is that going to last? If the game has almost been reduced to a glorified chat room for me? Oh well, we were thinking that we could all become commandos, since they are the -"Uber Class of the Month"-. But I thought "what's the use?" I'm sure if I droped all the skills I've worked so hard for thus far in Pikeman by the timeI picked up this ranged profession that I never wanted anyway just to be "usefull", let alone Powerfull they will probably have nerfed them by then too.

(Sigh) I used to move through this game with determined direction, and with a purpose, Now, I just kinda wonder about aimlessly. Sad huh?

That description of how you feel is one I can easily apply to myself. I once had ambitions to get master pikeman and then master brawler... well now, master brawler is totally useless (unless I want that whole +5 to speed and what not). Right now, I have very little motivation for going to master pikeman. I'm gonna wait it out a bit in the hopes that this will be changed but the pikeman class is now totally crippled.
