Isra if you can post here please, what exactly about the guide on page 1 is unclear?
I believe it answers your question. If that is not the case, please share with us which part of the guide is unclear....
I would then be happy to help answer your question....

ok, here goes:
"lva 550+ unsliced(speed doesnt matter much) unless its below 5.0 - crafted is around 500 damage sliced un-Pup'd. they sell for 8k-25k max"
the LVA i have is less than 550max dmg, however the speed is also less than 5.0. also it is 470 max dmg unsliced, with a damage slice that could pump the max dmg well over 500. the condition is not that good, but also not as bad as 250/750, and i believe it has quite a good chance to get a fair enough repair. it also has a few skill mods that i believe can be productive for the weapon wielder, namely, the speed mod. and then it has the DOT.
so my question is just that, is the LVA good enough?
because this states:
"LVA: +25polearm speed +25 dodge 60-359 damage 5.0 spd - good"
when the previous statement would clasify it as something less.
you know... im just your simple stupid neighborhood swordsman looking for an answer
i do apologize if my post wasted your precious reading time.
cheers,
isra.

(I know repair discussion is not perfectly suited to the looted pike guide, but since condition scares so many people in regards to looted pikes, and Xeno asked...I thought I should post a response)
Some thought on repair:
First of all....Xeno...I would not be too worried about your repair. It is a DOT weapon so any repair besidesa complete failure will be suffiucient for you.
(even 495/495 is good enough for the life of a DOT weapon. its fthe DAMAGE PIKES that need high condition for weeks of battles)
In general, people remain quite unsure of just how effective different repair methods, tricks, superstitions, and skill mods are at helping a successful repair.
One would assume naturally thata 99% tool would help but again, no solid, conclusive, reinforced evidence has been given and cofirmed regarding this.
Personally, my own technique involves waiting til the weapon is below 25% condition...To me it is a GIANT WASTE to repair a pike which is at 400/750 condition.
I firmly believe that I have had the same approximate degree of luck as anyone else, and I get to use my pikes far longer than people who jump to repair at 50%
(I have had numerous 'Minor Blemishes' 712/712 and getting 600/600 condition seems to be the norm, occasionally I get a 495/495 but as yet I have only failed once in months)
There almost seems to be a 'random number seed' each character might be given at login, I have had days where many reapirs go very well, and days where they all went badly.
(I have been known to practice-repair some junk items first on any given day to see if 'my luck' for the day was good or bad....there do seem to be trends)
Mostly those are just my tricks/superstitions.....but there are some things that many people have found helpfull as well...
Some SHARED/COMMON TRICKS to try:
1) BATTLE FATIGUE SHOULD BE 0 (who knows how badly health mods affect repair rolls, heal wounds too, just to be safe)
2) SIT DOWN (again, nothing conclusive, but you heal faster sitting, it CAN affect other variables to be safe, besides, immersion-wise it makes sense)
3)GET DRUNK (Ok that sounds odd, but any food/drink combos that boost your MIND, FOCUS, AND WILLPOWER, may potentially have an effect)
BOTTOM LINES : Condition is critical on looted pikes BUT differently depending on usage. Low condition is OK for DOT but not for DAMAGE.
Repair remains mysterious but with some simple and general precautions such as BF and posture (sitting) you should have decent success
People dont like buying weapons they have to GAMBLE ON (ie: repair themselves), if the condition is low enough, repair it PRE-SALE.
Good luck!

I don't PvP, so I wouldn't be too concerned. However, I do care about credits, and I intend to sell it. I thought I'd have to repair it in order to make a decent sale, but as I said, I was afraid to. (For the record, I have attempted repairs on my equipment probably 30 times or more. I have succeeded twice. Every other one broke. So now I find a weaponsmith or armoursmith that offers repair insurance.)

If someone has time, I have a question about Skill MODs on weapons...
1) I thought thatweapon mods work similar to skill tape mods, in that when something has multiple skill mods, Only the skill with the highest number would take effect. So for an example, lets say I found a VL that has multiple mods such as:
counterattack +9
polearm speed +8
one-hand accuracy +3
(lets say for the purpose of this example the rest of the stats were good enough to use.... this question is only in regards to skill mods...) In this case ONLY the counterattack would be effective BUT since pikemen do not use counterattack this would be a broke/ useless weapon.
Also, I know there have been many post about how skill tapes and weapons with skill mods work... does anyone have a link to one please?

I was waiting so let someone else answer, but what the heck, I like this thread and no replies yet...again. =)
If y'all get tired of my replies just let me know and I will give it a rest....
FederalExpress, you were right to wonder becuase in fact they do NOT work the same as skill tapes. (Dont worry the Polearm Speed +8 WILL WORK)
As far as I know ANY looted ITEM with multiple mods will have all mods functional.
(Not considering other conditions such as whether the specific mod in question ever works, or if you need a base skill, and so-on)
The MAIN DIFFERENCE is this:
A) When you use a SKILL ATTACHMENT, the mods are TRANSFERRED from the attachment to the item...and THIS is where the problem lies.
Instead of all the mods tranferring to the item, a bug, or 'feature' depending on your point of view, only ONE will.
In theory the attachment itself DOES ACTUALLY HAVE WORKING MUTIPLE MODS - the problem lies in the application to an item.
***Therefore***
B) When you loot an ITEM WITH MODS, just like an attachment before it is used, it ACTUALLY HAS WORKING MULTIPLE MODS
Since no transfer similar to the use of a skill attachment ever has to occur, the item's mods are never jeapordized.
BOTTOM LINE : Looted Items with multiple skill mods should have all the mods working like they should. (not counting broken mods etc.)
I will not go into the detailsof how attachments work as many people have dedicated plenty of forum space to it already...but I will try to find a link to post.
In the meantime here is a link to a post about WHICH MODS WORK, but not how attachments work:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=csystems&message.id=7076&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
I will see if I can find one on how the work for you soon.
Hope that helps a few of you.
Dont forget, just because it has multiple mods which might make nice attachments doesn't make it as usefull or as valuable.
It ALSO needs to be the APPROPRIATE MODS on the APPROPRIATE ITEM.
Good luck!

guide to dots....
Strength: strength is the tick value of which the dot will do its damage every 10 seconds or so.
Poison - 200str+ are the only ones worth keeping.
Disease - 150str+
Fire - 150str+
I disagree with Disease and Fire here, I find it can be much lower then that, and still work very well. Of course where something hits matters alot. E.g, a disease of say 50 to Focus is much more deadly than a disease of 75 to quickness. I have an unlimited use 105 Mind Fire NS Lance, it works great.

Thank you very much for answering my question Jalia!!!
And by no means should you stop answering questions if you know the answer. I never get tired of reading your post. If you want I will write you a very glowing letter of recommendation for the job of Pikeman correspondant.
(hmmm...now that i think about it, maybe not, because if u getthe jobu will not have time to answer all of our questions here)
But the sad part about this is I know I have destroyed some pretty decent lances/ vibro axes because of my mis-information... and that sucks... but i guess u live and learn... again thanks...

I am not a pikeman, so I have to plead ignorance here. But, I was wondering, since lances have no armor piercing, does the DOT still work on oponents with armor? I've been thinking it does, but someone challenged me on this and I want to be sure.
Thanks

I looted a Vibro lance with the stats:
Vibro Lance:
condition 513/750
Skill mods:
Block 9
Defense vs. Intimidate 9
Attack speed 3.5
Damage 175-642
Wound 38%
Range modifiers: -24/-24/-24
Special attack cost: 29/57/24
Well I don't know if the damage is that good, but if I assume it is, then the skillmods would be usefull. So I think I have a quite good lance here, but I'm still not certain. Can anyone verify it?
awesome pike

This is a great thread but it's too bad it doesn't get the attention it deserves. I have yet to come across a realistically priced looted LVA or VL, 90%+ of the vendors I see have incredibly overpriced average lva's.
Here is a good example, taken just yesterday (Also note that all the other pikes you see in that list would fit into the "PURE AND UTTER GARBAGE" category. All the ns lances are the common 70% disease ones):
http://virtual.metapathy.com/~tomas/Screenshots/bargain.jpg
The LVA I own right now is 450 maxdamage/4.2 speed sliced and un-pup'ed which I got for an excellent 8k. A great price for the weapon it is, but with 2 million credits in my pocket I'm sure I can do better, I just can't find anything to spend it on.
