What's with the pissing contest at the end of everyones post?

I've been a pikeman since the start.That's right, day 3 or some crap. Who cares?

We're not going to get the fixes we're looking for in the combat balance but we sure as hell are going to get the nerfs that we aren't looking for.

When the DOTs go down, we're all dead.

All the bandwagon jumpers might as well hop off now.

From the devs:

All of these numbers and things are part of the combat balance. Rules, numbers, etc, are all under the hood and will be adjusted.

How could you call a 75% reduction on a 250 poison anything but retarded? Itll tick for what, 40? Why even have DOTs? A 800 would tick for like 250... doesnt make any sense whatsoever to nerf them that hard, or even at all. I think the drops should be made rarer then they are atm, make NS harder, and bring the certs higher up the tree for NS lances, like novice pikeman. I DO see us becoming a FOTM after the CM nerf, because we're an easy source of DoT weapons and have cheap prices becuase of the small market. Then Pikeman gets nerfed and we're worse off than what we started at.

Oh yea, and been a pikeman for almostsince launch, besides my two month break and 1.5 months as a mater heavy swordsman.

1. Nerf DoTs.
2. Fix Pikeman
3. Make polearms drop as often as everything else
4. Profit!

Honestly, I have a feeling that many of the people playing Pikemen are grinders. The recent announcement regarding changes to FS unlocking made a lot of people pretty pissed, and I'm sure some people are getting as many professions done now while they still have a chance to unlock. Many people waited on Pikeman because they heard it was broken, so they're doing it now.

This is pure speculation on my part, but considering things I'd heard from some of the hologrinders in my guild, I believe it.

On a little side note, compared to the other brawler weapons, our Pikes do look the best. The models are simply cool, far better than gaffis, curved swords, VKs, or power hammers. I guess the only one I like a little more is the Scythe, but that's ok... we'll get ours.

right now, the only thing that ends alot of fights is a good strong mind dot.

i can win as a pikeman because i can DoT there mind pool and then sit and tank till they die (honestly its damn near imposible to kill any one) its either that, or switch to rifle, the only profession with the power to punch through that full composit armor.

No, but at Polearms II they now wield the "power" of the Pikeman profession, and that is what counts. People don't care if they only have Polearms II, or Polearms IV because they are a Master Brawler. All they know is that their mind is now burning for 280 a tick, and some guy with a lance just did it.

Wouldent it be easer to make it so only a novice pikeman can use a pike with a Dot? Wouldent this stop people from just grabbing the few needed skills to use dot weapons? This way dots wouldent need a 75% reduce, but i agree just to be even maby a 80% or 85%. Wouldent a 75% bring us back to problem one...pikeman being bad a PvP?

i think the devs should think ofother ways to fix things then just nerf them. but with DoTs i dont no....They are rly rly strong and killer. i would think they could put the poisen lances higher in the pikemen skill tree. and then maybe make them be alittle less powerful. so that they will help but not like win the fight for u.
