so If I have a mount and I group with it and have it stay put I can get more xp. . hmm learn something new every day.

yes, buuuuuuut since most non CH mounts can't hold their own against mad chickens, they die rather wuick because of the auto attack aggroing thingie whilst grouped. I used to hate it when my kaadu went all psycho on me and started nibbling on enraged rancors' toe nails

why do you say no armor? it turns 100 dmg into 10 dmg, at that you do not need regen while in combat jsut take armor off and let regen after fighting then put it right back on

I believe he said "Do not use armor unless it doesn't hinder your regen rate," and I am sure he meant that you should have a high as possible regeneration rate as that seems to behis template. The idea of taking ones armoron and off to regen is a nice idea, but a lot of the armor out there have so high encumbrances they are impossible to put on without high buffs from doctors and the likes. Again, there are also armors that don't have high encumbrances and etc... all in all, it's more a question of personal taste and preferences.

Well you see ... I figure if someone is going to stick it to me I might as well give them an easy target. Especially if they happen to be pikers cause you know well enough they need all the help they can get hitting a target.

I agree large xp schemes usually involve buffing but you can't say its not affordable. With 5K worth of doctor buffs you can earn 100K in creature bounties. So they pay for themselves pretty quickly.

I'm going to say this in the most polite way possible because I dont want anyone to think this is a slag on the original poster or a (heaven forbid) flame of any kind.

I've seen post after post after post from people who have stated something to the effect of 'I know how to get mad xp' and then usually go on to describe much of the following....

- Get awesome armor

- Get massive buffs from doctors and entertainers

- Get crates of awesome food that boosts HAM from chefs

- Get crates of awesome spices that you can use if the bar runs low

- Get awesome stims from some doctor to heal when all of the above runs out

- Get an awesome pet to tank

- Go to the most badass planet and kill the most badass creatures you can find

Now I'm probably exagerating somewhat on thewhole list of things to do but it close enough. Here are my thoughts on this type of advice. If I were to go out and do all of the above I would be able to solo dathomir and I mean the WHOLE planet. The fact is that most people DONT have the funds to go out and buy crates of food and spice, full sets of composite armor, stims galore, and buffs every 2 hours. Its just not economically viable for the average joe to go and do these things.

Now I'm sure when someone posts this kind of advice they mean well and thank you for that but most of this kind of stuff falls under the category of 'NO SH!T SHERLOCK'. How about some posts where someone actually gives some advice on getting 'mad xp' that doesnt involve using all the aforementioned tactics. Maybe then the pike noobers will stop posting all the 'how do I get xp posts'

Ok I'm grabbing my ankles ... let me have it.

Legwand LMAO...

Yeah I get the same fealing as you but I think it is importain to just take it with a grain of salt and remember they are just trying to help. I personaly like to solo (well I have my mount there but I almost never use him to fight on purpose even if the critters have other ideas) so I use armor and buffs almost all the time anyways. Also try to remember that not everyone knows all the buffs in game and how to use them. I was explaining food to a guildie of mine and he was like, "what? You can do that? OMG that rules."

This is what im doing, and it will work without buff or food nor spice.
I go to rori Rebel outpost, circle around within 500m from there and kill any mite or squall I see (except for Lavi Squall until recently I got my defense tree up). And u do have to buy HALF crate of pet stim and a crate of stimpack Bs and that will worth you around 35k for petstims and 10k for stimB, get a carrion spat mount, CL10 1100hp, and have the CH teach him guard, that's another 10k or so. Go on to the mites, don't think of soloing the whole lair, since they are range, its gonna be a bitch to deal with. If you can have ur mount pull around 2 or 3 at most to you, that's great, if that dosent work for you, try to have ur mount defend u, and yourself hit the furthest mite, ur mount will hit it and the other mite who's seen what he's doing will end up hitting him instead of you, usually i will leave like 1 or 2 mites on me and they are possible to kill, what u have to make sure is that u must keep ur mount alive, if things go wrong(too many mites), heal the mount instead of him, ride it and run like hell. To do this without buff is tricky, so try to hook up with a doctor that will buff you for cheap in exchange for meat or something, but half of the time im going unbuffed cuz my friend signed in late everynight, so i guess its possible. but if u want xp fast, do that buffed and its an affortable way i guess.

I concur with the problems facing a newborn toon without any fundings being told to get the best of the best in order to gain the best experience. As we all have to start somewhere(on our path to enlightenment...), it's is often assumed by the ones already having finished that the new ones have all that is required. Reality shows this often to be false, and as a novice pikeMan I myself remember several times I didn't even have the fundings to buy a freaking shuttle ticket because I had to use all the credson food, drinks, spice, weapons or whatever I had been adviced to grab in order to gain the sobadly needed experience.

It would perhaps be wise to give advices based upon how much resources the enquiring player has availablefor his disposal, rather thanto assume he has 30 millions creds and canget hold ofwhatever the advisors feel is needed? hummm, it's an interesting point of view

Darren, I normally dont flame people but.... man werent you the one asking me what fishak was on the other forum thread. The one labled "Tips and Tricks feel free to add to"? You could at least have given me some credit for " your strategy" on how to level pikeman. I mean I gave almost a step by step strategy on how to fight Rancors on dathomir and then you turn it around and act as if the strategy was yours!!!!

Sorry Just bothered me a little bit considering that you didnt know what fishak was 2 days ago. Anyway congrats on the strategy!!!

You don't need gobs of cash. If you have 15K you are set.

1. buy a set of doc buffs for 6K

2. buy your ticket to dath

3. spend the rest on angerian fishak off the bazaar

If all you are doing is grinding xp then you honestly don't need armor if you are buffed. Your toughness (low as it is) combined with /intimidate keeps the mobs damage very low. Pikets only hit me for about 50-60 pts of damage and if I'm buffed I heal that back quickly (because const and stamina are buffed also). With the money you make in those 2 hours from running 9-11K missions you can afford another buff easily.

I haven't used a stim in weeks.
