What a line. If SWG has never nerf'd dot's, taken away a uber dot or stopped them from dropping then how do you get risk? If you associate Risk with being at the whim of someone else then I suppose your definition is correct.

Investment in any item comes with risk....That includes real life. It has nothing to do with politics. Purchasing an item only for the DOT associated with it and not the actual weapon itself is the risk you take when investing millions of credits into an item.
last time i checked, (post CU) the dots on pikeman weapons ARE part of the weapon...so your point is pointless
You buy a house, you're taking a risk that it won't get hit by a tornado, or blown down by a hurricane, or catch on fire.
You buy a car, you're taking a risk that you won't fall asleep while driving, or some drunk moron won't plow into you, or that someone won't steal it.
You buy ANYTHING in an MMOG, and you're taking a risk that someday the devs will do something to change it and make it not so valuable. Doesn't matter if its a DoT lance or something that was considered a valuable rare item that the devs woke up some day and decided everyone on the server should have 20 of.
In essence, no matter what you invest your money in, you are accepting risk.

Im in TC looking at the new weapon stats, seems our highest dam ones will be the VL , NS lance and Massassi so if you have a VL or NS lance with a big DoT on it you can probably expect to see a nice change in it. *Prays his 762str action poison NS turns out nice*

they'll probably add more damage then u think ......a 200str dot probably wont add jus like 200 to the max, probably a bit more

Funny... how are DOT's attained.. Looted.. so if we all JUST went out and spent time getting them YOU would only pay for buffs.. PRoblemo SOlved. Either get em free or dont get em at all. PVP Should be attained by skill and time not CREDIts and mula* cough. We should all just be loot slaves bottem line.

DoT's were really bad the way I see it, I'm not really concerned with them being removed as I am worried about the functionality of the profession itself. Once master is obtained on Test Center then we shall really see how the Pikeman will prevail. Remember, we as Pikeman used DoT's because we were gimped in every aspect, now at this go around, we may not NEED them to win a fight, or play our role in the combat system.

Please tell me that when you bought those millions of credits worth of uber DOTs that you DIDN'T REALLY THINK that stacking 900+ ticking DOTs would still be allowed after the CU. That would sorta negate the whole point.

Geez, I said sorry Im sad about my money! Right now, one of the only ways to excel in PVP is to be a jedi or to be a DoT stacker. So of course being a pikeman I bought DoTs. We all thought the CU was a myth and would never happen, obviously I didn't think that far ahead. I tested the CU though and it looks like if they add damage to the DoT weapons, they might turn out pretty nice.

Well, sorry I didn't intend to sound like a jerk.. but I think my point stands. First time in pvp I ticked for some insane amount of my mind pool, inflicted by an unbuffed combat medic, I knew immediately that it wasn't intended in a game that was supposed to have some vestage of balance.
