I got a full set of Ubese too. This armor is great. It may not look good, but its got it where it counts. It has a very high resistence to Kinetic, so melee attacks don't do much to it. The only problem I had was putting it on....I had to eat some stuff to put it on, and now I have to use Stat Migration to put it above 0, hehe.

How much does a full set cost? Is it better than the mabari armorweave?

Same here, got one on order for 35k, but there is a 3day waiting list, and I'm not sure I'll be able to wear it all when I get it.

The armorsmith I go to (Desavius on Starsider, located on the north side of Coronet), is very good at what he does. He can make the armor higher than normal. I payed 50K for the full suit. Just make sure your focus is higher than 400 or you can't wear it.

Edit: And yes, I prefer it over Mabari Armorweave.

I bought Marbari chest, legs and boots for just under 1000 and it takes a lot off melee damage (almost half from a monk that punched me the one time I checked)

the same crafter was selling a chitin chestpiece for 3000 creds

You are going to have to use some kind of armor because we get torn up in melee because we hit slow, and for some retarded reason we only get +4 to toughness with polearm where all other melee's get +10 HUGE DIFFERENCE!

OOC:

I wear a mix between bone armor and chitin armor... The bone is high against energy, where as the chitin is high against kenetic, thus taking damage is at an all time low for me...

i just took my armor off to see if it was making much of a difference. I actually felt like i was doing better. The mobs were fairly easy but once i was finished with em all in my dress i had more health/action than before. I also noticed the mobs were hitting me for about the same dmg. As far as i could see it was identical. I wear padded chest, legs, boots, and helm. The armor absorbs some dmg but not a lot.

So...with the great decrease in stats by wearing armor I'm beginning to wonder if it makes much of a difference.

I'm using a couple pieces of Chitin and one piece of Mabari Armorweave. Soaks a LOT of kinetic damage.

What I want to do is craft some good Bone Armor (I need to get to Engineering IV anyway) and keep that in my inventory for the occasional gunfight. All that kinetic armor means jack if someone's shooting you for energy damage, so I may as well switch out between Bone and Chitin/Mabari.
