Thread: Announcement about changes to Entertainers

I just checked on things and confirmed that the announcement was to be parts of what the correspondents have seen. However, it has been delayed so correspondent feedback can be considered.
Now that the facts are out of the way... The good news is they seem to be open to that feedback, and trying to understand better what entertainers want. That is the impression I am getting from the team.
Thanks for the info Tiaga, but I just felt like if a Dev made such a bold statement, with an explicit timeframe, and that timeframe won't be met, a Dev would post a follow-up to said statement.
having said that, yes - it's good news that they seem to be open to feedback. I hope they would, aswe've been amassing it for almost 2 years now ![]()

I heard, and this is just rumor mind you, that with the combat revamp, the Chid horn will become a new type of sound energy weapon.Unfortunately bone armor will have high sound energy resists but most people wear comp so they will be very vulnerable.
Of course the Devs will niether confirm or denie this rumor....
Don't be silly Loniki! That is most definitely patently false. The chid? Of course not!
It was the Slitherhorn.

Looks like the big announcement for Entertainers is that in the new expansion there is no mention of Entertainers.
Now honestly, doesit surprise you that there's nothing for us in the expansion? Raise your hands, everyone who'd answer "Yes" to that question...
(Although I haven't read the articleat IGN yet. I'd rather do that at home than here at work, if you know what I mean
So basically there is no point being upset about no mention of entertainers. Have you ever heard of any game mentioning every single detail in the first announcement about it?

Theres also no mention about almost all of the other professions as well. Pilots were mentioned indirectly because of the new ships and all of the crafters (through the artisans reference) which only said you could sell the mined materials to them.

/agree bronski.
This is like people complaining about the new combat system before it's been implemented. We don't know yet what's going to happen. And bemoaning our fate at every opportunity doesn't help us win support from the other, non-entertainer players. We need their help if we're going to get the expanded content people have been asking for since Day 1.
Personally, I enjoy playing music, I enjoy socializing and roleplaying with other players, and I don't see any of that changing. The jukeboxes haven't killed off the profession, and I seriously doubt that anything the devs have planned will do the job, either. Are there things we'd like to see done? Sure. If they can get rid of AFK entertainers, that'd be huge. If they gave us more content, that'd be great, too. What will get us those things?
Well, it'd help if we got support from the other players, since (like any business) SOE follows the money. More players play combat professions, so they get the meat of the new stuff. If we want improvements, we have to put pressure on the devs to give it to us. The way to do that is not to whine about problems that either haven't happened yet or have been around since the dawn of the game; it's to make more people want to make us happy. And the way to do that, as far as I can tell, is to get out there and do our thing and let our patrons know (1) we appreciate them and (2) here are some things that would be really cool.
