the problem with afkers is that they stay all night, and when people get in the cantina when we first get on (we = other musician) everyone is /listen ing to them and wont change to us b/c of convience. So they take away from what we do when we deserve it more than them.

Here is a issue that ifeel needs to be addressed that i do not beleive has been brought up yet:

Omni Boxes and Nalagrons

With both of these instruments, you have to keep the instrument targeted at all times to keep playing it. If you target another player while playing these, you immediately STOP playing! If you try to do something like open a backpack or move a item around, you stop playing! If you so much as sneeze the wrong way you stop playing!

This is very annoying, especially if you happen to be a leader of a entertainer group and someone needs a invite. All the other instruments do not have this issue, why these two?

As it stands now, because of this issue i usethe bandfill for bass instead of a Omni Box and i hardly play the Nagy at all.

Could you please put this on the list and hopefully get this fixed

The top issue (as defined as a problem that needs fixing)I have is AFK performers. I won't pretend to know what the best fix is, but something has to be done to stop them.

The top development I'd like to see would be an addition for musicians to heal mind damage on the field. It would be like having a fife and drum corps in a hunting group. It would make us more useful to other players and give us something to do outside of a cantina.

Thanks for coordinating this stuff!

I agree with many of the ideas posted here, and so, as an attempt not to repeatthe ideas that I have read, and asI may have missed this one, I apologize in advance if it has been posted.

The one suggestion I have is to move the spatial messages, such as "You receive X points of Musician expereince" or "You perform a flourish" to the combat log. It is already hard enough to have a smaller conversation with someone when there are 20+ people in the cantina, but when there are 2-5 lines being written every second in the spatial window, I find that I miss many tells and have a harder time participating in spatial conversations.

For all I know there is a way to turn this off that I am simply unaware. And, if that is the case, I apologize for the waste of bits here.

This is a proposed solution to the AFK issue. I have always felt that the most effwctive way to deal with it is not to penalize everyone for it just make it somewhat risky. Here is a solution that should work.

Whilst I was sitting here at work pondering this issue it came to me. Instead of penalizing the people with booting or no exp, why not take a more proactive stance. The solution for Professionakl AFKers is the Image Designers. When a Musician goes AFK, they leave themselves open to unsolicited Image design. Any Image designer could design them and while a pop up would ask the musicians if they like it, if they do not decline within a set time limitthe image sticks. In this way it would discourage AFK (they dont know what they could look like when they return) and it gives Image Designers free exp at their expense. I can just see the foolishness at a cantina where the AFK "maestro" is made to look so awful that the resulting jokes and nicknames run him out of town. This allows the AFKers to continue (at the risk of being made to look the fool) as well as benefits the artistic community as a whole. What say ye, I know it seems a little juvenile but after all this isa game.

I'll add my top issue now that i'm very close to novice musician

It's really simple, been mentioned alot allready: AFK entertainers.

As for the ceremonial song and Mandoviol, keep it as is or there will be no real reason to master entertainer.

Deal with the AFK morons. Fail to do this and soon there will not be a musician profession left to correspond on.

I think the reason for all the afk entertainers is gaining skill is such a slow and prolonged process that in general gaining xp is not very exciting.

I have fun as an entertainer I am chatting and dancing for my friends at our PA's cantina. We get good turn out but this is usually 2 or 3 entertainers and the people watching us. The problem is if I actually want to skill up I am pretty much forced to join a nekkid go go band in a capital city because I get 3 times the xp. Due to the mechanics of xp you are forced to grind and grind and grind on flourishes constantly. There is no real place for coordinated music or playing what sounds good. If you do this your xp gain is very slow.

I am not sure how this can be fixed but as it is right now there is very little incentive to NOT afk grind. Doing it allows you to get the skills to get as much diversity such as it is in music and instruments so you can have fun performing in smaller settings.

I myself do not afk grind but I can very much see the call of it and understand why people do it. It also drives many from the profession why bother being an entertainer when you can just go to a cantina and watch somebodies dance bot and not be concerned with tipping at all.

Fix AFK

Fix Buffing

Some indication when the buff is done and ready to stop listen. What happens if I stop playing prior to stop listen. This is key, what if a clock is off, and 4:59 seconds go by (hey lag alone right), and bam no buff.

I was able to setperform myself. (/setperform name) I did not get the buff. But later I was able to get the buff bug (which came in real handy when I was completing Act 2)

Any chance we could document what is supposed to happen.

I did'nt read all the suggestions, but I dont think this has been brought up.....

How about an in-game buttetin board?? This would be a spot in every hotel, cantina, and theater where a person can walk up and click the board to see what is on the schedule. This way, I can post that my group will be performing at that location friday night at 6m cst. To keep everyone from posting on it, you can make it so that only those who are Master level can do so. But all others can read.

Also...we need a way to get the performers out of the Cantina's solely, and into the Theaters and hotels. Come up with some form of incentive, where we WANT to perform in these other venu's.

And lastly, Band Leader control over the /sing command. This way we can create songs which include back-up singers (I like to beautiful dancers behind me!) who sing out the right line at the right time in unison.

Thats my bag baby!

Sandee: I have asked the devs about the self-buff, as has the Dancer Correspondent. I'll report more as I learn more. I've also asked for some better feedback about whether the buff is working as we perform, when it will kick in, etc. As for the stat bugs, the devs do think they may have a fix, internally, to at least some of the stat bugs we're seeing.

Everyone:I plan to tabulate these comments for thedevs shortly, so keep 'em coming.

Well, right now there is one thing that's been bothering me the most...

Give Master Musicians ALL the songs and the Mandoviol.

No other "Master Starting Proffesssion" gets anything as special as the ability to use unique items. Even the description of Master Musician says ALL instruments and ALL songs

Bottom line for me is that 106 Skill Points spent on Master Musician is enough of a hit on the total pool, that I should be able to truly be a Master Musician... not a limited technician that can't grasp the concept of playing a stringed instrument that you hold across your body.

29 more Skill Points mean a lot more for skills that actually make some sort of difference in what I can experience in this game... meaning, my problem may be more deeply rooted in the, "Non-Combat Characters Can Experience Very Little Compared To Those That Can Destroy Things Well" Problem. Once I reached Master Musician, I wanted to meet Max Reebo. How could I? By killing things. Want to play for Princess Leia? The Emperor? How do you do it?

Just Give the mandoviol and the extra songs to those with the Master Musician Box... no need to change the entire reward progression in the skill tree. Just add those to the Master Musician Box.
